My partner and I had been considering solar for a while. I did a lot of research into several different companies and decided to go with Power Trip for several reasons. For starters, they actually came out and looked at the property, rather than just using a computer generated model. Further, they answered all my questions promptly and were honest and fair in their quotes. The system has been stellar since we had it installed in August 2022. Now that we're considering an extension to our array, we'll definitely be going with Power Trip again.

4.9 stars, few years later and still loving our SunPower system. We went to 2 of Andy's community talks before taking the plunge and couldn't be more impressed with his mastery of all things solar. During install the techs were courteous, clean and professional. Other contractors that have visited since remark on the quality of work. ONLY downside- Michael didn't measure our roof correctly, by a long shot, but fortunately one of the techs noticed mid-install and was able to shift the entire system to allow for more panels. $12k in additional panels. We're happy for the extra solar, but talk about unexpected costs! Overall very pleased.

I have done a lot of business with a lot of companies over my many years of home ownership. When we first started considering adding solar to our home I did a lot of research. After the research we decided to go with Power Trip Energy. From the first phone call through the install this company is nothing but professional, honest, knowledgeable and fair. I am rather "picky" regarding how things are done around my home and these folks exceeded my expectation at every turn. One of the reasons I had chosen them over another company we were strongly considering was some reviews I had read about them. I felt obligated to add to the positive reviews and truly wish there were more honest and dependable companies like this to work with. Great job Power Trip!

Power trip Energy was a real pleasure to work with for my solar installation in Port Ludlow, Washington. They explain every step of the way - patiently. Their installers are professionals and perfectionists. I really appreciate high quality work and their installers’ work was top notch. The electrical inspector said they did “great work” too. The office staff gets to know you and you feel the personal touch throughout. They installed a 7.7Kw solar system for me and the car charger. I’m pretty picky about workmanship and they definitely delivered - all the way through the handoff and system explanation. It’s nice to meet a company so passionate about their mission to bring solar power to the Olympic Peninsula.

12.4kW array working perfectly

Power Trip finished the expansion of my legacy 4.2 kW array to 12.4 kW. They handled the complexity of integrating the old with the new perfectly. They completed the job on time, as quoted, in a professional manner.

Great company! Great results!

We attended a solar power seminar sponsored by Power Trip Energy Corp and believed we could save money on energy costs in the long term, support green energy, reduce the use of non-renewable energy sources. Power Trip provided a bid and recommendations to us; listened to our questions and concerns, then revised their proposal to our satisfaction. Their installers were professional, courteous, timely, and knowledgeable. We couldn't be happier with the result and love the bills from our local electrical provider throughout the summer (just the basic charge plus tax). We realize we will tilt from producing more energy than we use as the days shorten and the sun sinks into winter. As a result of our experience one neighbor has already installed a solar array on his home and two more have asked us about our experience. The incentives at the state and federal level were certainly a factor in our decision; however, by projecting our energy costs across the next 20 years and comparing to the up-front solar investment it was an easy decision. Better for our long run pocket book and better yet helping the environment - not to mention with the incentives we will "pay off the system" sooner than expected.

Let the Sun Shine!

From start to ongoing communication, the Power Trip team has been outstanding in terms of educating the public about solar systems (our first encounter was one of their workshops), installation, billing, helping with tax returns and other cost recovery incentives, and maintenance of the system. The app for daily power consumption/production that comes with the system has helped us understand how the system is working and also how we can continue to streamline our power needs at home. Plus it is fun to see the bright green circle that tell us we are banking energy!

Power Trip installed our system in July 2017. We were very happy with the pre- installation meetings and also the follow-through during installation and afterwards. We are very happy that we made the leap to solar and highly recommend this company to anyone considering doing this.

Sun energy

Power Trip(PT) was instrumental in building our new “green” house. Several years ago PT was asked to survey our possible building site for potential solar energy capture. Their survey reported that the site had positive solar potential. That survey began our strong relationship with PT. PT was with us from the beginning of our new home. PT determined the compass orientation of the house foundation that would place the roof line for the greatest capture of solar energy. PT also designed the angle (slope) and size of the roof for placement of solar panels. PT also helped in our selection of the metal roof style that enhanced panel placement without having to penetrate the roof for panel anchorage. Our “green” home is installed with a ductless heat pump for household heat, a ‘heat-pump’ hot water heater, and all lighting is LED. The house is insulated beyond county code requirements. PT installed our solar panels on January 5, 2017. In addition to the panels, an EV (electric vehicle) charger station was installed. On April 28th , an all electric Chevrolet Bolt was purchased. Today after 129 days since the installation of the solar panels, data collected shows that the ave daily energy use for the house is 32.87 kWh. So far, the ave daily Solar energy production is 32.07 kWh with a result of 97.57% of the daily household electrical use being supplied from Power Trip installed solar panels (32.07kWh/32.87kWh). The total household use of electricity includes the kWh used to charge the Bolt. The Bolt has been driven over 2000 miles since its purchase and it has been charged at our new home only. Also, our PUD electric bills for March and April were only for the monthly $14.50 base fee that is charged to each electric bill. No charges were made for electricity since no electricity was delivered. In addition, the May PUD electric bill states that 396 kWh have been added to our banked usage balance. We look forward to the days ahead when the ‘2017 spring rain season’ is replaced with some long days of sunshine and ‘banking’ energy for later winter days. Also with new batteries being developed, our future may include an ‘on site’ energy storage system. Can we recommend Power Trip Energy for solar planning and installation? YOU BET!

Port Townsend Uptown installation

Michael did a very thorough job of explaining the benefits, and return on investment analysis. That made it easy to make a decision. The install crew was professional and very positive. We had a sub-panel that had some issues, wasn't really part of the install, but Power Trip provided a professional electrician to upgrade the sub-panel to code. After install service has been very good as well. Office personnel are very sharp. The net meter helps us track our solar production on a monthly basis. The system is performing to original specs.

Great, Professional Company

We had contemplated a solar system for some time. Friends were sold on their systems and this company. We attended one of their presentations and decided to get a quote. From the home evaluation, system design, installation and follow up everything was handled professionally. We had some cosmetic concerns regarding the conduit run and meter location and they met our concerns very nicely. The installation was done very professionally and on time. The system included a new, wireless monitor that required some modification to work with our power supply. This required additional visits and time and they kept at it until everything was correct. The entire process was on time and on budget. They coordinated the paper work with our local utility and the State. I would highly recommend this team for adding solar power to your home.

Solar Array, Renewable Energy

I attended two presentations given by Power Trip Energy, both very informative. I am extremely satisfied with my new solar array. Installation without any issues, onsite crew very polite, left the area clean. Jeff Randall made the entire process very easy. I am looking forward to many years of renewable energy.

Excellent Company!

I attended a presentation on solar power last December given by Power Trip Energy. After digesting the information provided and asking for and contacting customers, we decided to have PTE install a 9.5 KW system. They did a very professional job. Their installers were courteous, met the schedule they proposed, and charged what they had promised (no hidden add-ons). In the first 6 weeks of operation (19 February to 1 April), the system generated 900 kwhr of power. With the Washington State rebate, that equates to $225, in February/March in Bremerton (near Seattle)! We are very pleased!

Outstanding

We attended Power Trip's workshop on March 1, 2014 which was excellent. They installed a 7.02 Kw system which was operational May 1, 2014. We were so pleased with the installation and performance that we added 3.58 Kw in January 2015. It really was a turnkey installation, very well done, and performance, incentives, etc. have all met or exceeded what they told us. We went with a made in Washington system by Itec and a loan from Puget Sound Cooperative Credit Union. There have been No surprises such as hidden costs or need for rework. One of the most competent and friendly companies I have dealt with. They are making a positive difference in our world!
