This is who you want to do business with. When you work and meet with Daryl, his integrity and knowledge will ease any anxiety you might have over what is (perhaps) a large financial decision. His product outperformed other panels offered by similar companies. The craftmanship upon installation was excellent. But most important was the piece of mind knowing I was working with a committed, trustworthy, responsible, individual.

Penobscot Solar did a site survey, installed the system and cleared it through the Utility quickly and efficiently. The system has been working perfectly and I can monitor it online as well as on my cell phone. The crew worked quickly, efficiently and professionally and left my place as clean as when they arrived. Very poor service and above all very poor installation. I had to hire another solar company to fix all the mistakes that Penobscot solar made. It cost me an additional $6,000 just to make my system safe. The wiring was under sized and almost caused a fire. The owner of Penobscot solar would not stand behind his installation and would not come back after he was paid. Don't pay him in advance. They don't allow enough time and cut corners. For Daryl to respond that I'm a "nightmare client". Look at the attached photos after your mathematical lecture. This is one of the many wires that were badly burned. It almost burned my house down. His response was it was my problem now and he would not be able to return for several months (too busy). You can see that by the way the problem is not his falt is the service you will get from him. The fire happened the first week after his install. I was forced to find another solar company to repair his mistakes, by the way, this company is so much better with their service and price. This is how he treats a customer who has spent over $100,000. After paying Daryl he is a no show... Daryl, your calculations don't add up. Take the blame and return and fix your mistakes.

Penobscot Solar installed an 13.9 KW system on my house in Maine. Their work was extremely professional from the start to finish. Great care was taken in planning, explanation and execution. The company gives 110% and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

The company installed two systems for us and one for our neighbor. All systems withstood the last hurricane and are working perfectly.. Very happy about the solar and the fast and friendly service. System is running several years now without a problem.

We are so happy with our solar system. Our new home is not yet complete, but every bit of the solar installation has been great. Penobscot Solar also connected us with an electrician who understands solar use and who has also been super to work with. Daryl DeJoy, owner of Penobscot Solar, recommended appliances that are just right for our system and went over the planning of the system with us so that we understood exactly what we would need to have all the comforts we wanted. Our system delivers 100% of power by 10am almost everyday. We love our Amica refrigerator and Staber washing machine and look forward to installing our SunDanzer freezer next week. Everything our home sweet home could need. We highly recommend Daryl and Stu for their professionalism and smooth installation skills. One could not find a better company to work with. When we decided to build a home we decided that we would like to be off the grid. We have friends who have an off-grid home and we simply asked them who did the work. They recommended Penobscot Solar and we were on our way. We really chose to go with solar power because we think chip fossil fuels are on the way out and we wanted to not be dependent upon fossil fuel to provide our electricity. We are so happy that Penobscot Solar is in our area. Daryl and Stu have become more than contractors for us, we use them for advice on where to purchase the items we want in our home from local suppliers. We wish that the state of Maine had a rebate incentive for our installation. In Maine, you only get a rebate if you are tied in to the grid. That just doesn`t fit our plan. Are we missing out on any other programs? We`d love to know about them. We think everyone should be thinking about going solar and we are always talking to people who have an interest. We`ve had so many people visit our house just to see what it might look like for them and we are always pleased to give the tour.

A follow-up visit would be great to really explain how the system works and review maintenance procedures. Also a checkup before we head into winter would really be good.

The `Good` rating was because it took so long for the manufacturer to provide the equipment. That really didn`t have anything to do with Penobscot Solar.

I am 80 miles into the North Maine Woods. When they were finished with the job there was not enough time to really familiarize me with the system. I was not on the electric net and most of the above questions do not apply
