Organ Mountain Solar & Electric

We moved to Las Cruces four years ago and soon after began looking for a company to install solar panels. I evaluated multiple possibilities, however Organ Mountain Solar caught my eye because they are locally owned and operated. Reviews that I could find were positive. I liked the fact that they were a growing, well respected local company. Our interactions with the sales person, Philip Samuel, were positive. Our many questions were answered thoroughly and they were patient with our timeline. The crew who came and installed the system were young, competent and respectful. It was reassuring to meet them and feel good about what they were doing. We happened to be the first install of a newer technology at the time. There was a technical challenge that occurred however one of the co-owners spent the day troubleshooting and solved the issue. Two years later, we added on to our house and went back to Organ Mountain to do an addition onto our system. I fully endorse the company. They’ve been responsive to any questions and needs that we have.

We are Very Happy with Organ Mountain Solar and Electric.

From the start of planning to the cleanup, they did a thorough and efficient job installing 36 solar panels on a 4500 sq ft house. Both Matt and Donald explained the job, process, and solar activation to us clearly. We interviewed several companies before choosing Organ Mountain, as they were the most knowledgeable. The upfront price was quite high, but after applying state and federal tax credits, we saved a substantial amount of money.

In my 3 phase solar conversion project, Organ Mountain consistently provided the design and implementation services that met all my requirements. The completed project including solar panels, battery and EV charging. It has flexible configuration alternatives allowing household usage and EV charging to be scheduled to optimize El Paso Electric's Whole House EV Rider program. Organ Mountain provided technical specialists, occasionally aided by the manufacturer's support staff, who understood and implemented a completely automated system.

Can’t say enough good things about Organ Mountain Solar. Installation went smoothly and all our questions were answered by the friendly install crew. We highly recommend Organ Mountain to anyone interested in Solar Power installation and maintenance. Thanks, OMS&E for your excellent professionalism and great workmanship.

We contracted with Organ Mountain Solar and Electric Company in Las Cruces, New Mexico for the installation of a solar system and a generator backup on August 24, 2024. After a week the company’s engineering team came to our house to survey and design the installation of the systems. Shortly thereafter they filed the necessary permit applications with the State Inspector and the Electric Company. A couple of weeks later their solar installation team arrived and before the afternoon was over the solar system was installed and ready for inspections. All the team members were courteous and considerate and when they left, the installation site and our landscaping was as it was before. A month later the generator was installed and the process, conducted by a different team, was as smooth, efficient and unproblematic as the solar installation. However, we needed to install a 200 plus feet gas line from our gas meter to the generator site. Solar Mountain contracted with Sun City Plumbing Company for that job. Sun City subcontracted with a landscaping company to preserve our landscaping and dig the trench. The gas line was inspected by the Stare and then buried and our landscaping restored to as before. The whole process went smoothly without any problems. Everyone involved was courteous and considerate. After all inspections were conducted went on solar and backup power. The whole process was completed by November 18, 2024. Our compliments and appreciation go to all the businesses and people involved with our project. You have done a first class job in a first class manner . Thank you very much.

Best company in my book-customer for life.

Corey Asbill, Alex Cardone and Matthew Chandler are fantastic! Back story: I was devastated because once the other solar company received their money May 2023, their service was horrible and nonexistent. After trying to contact my original solar company for months getting the run around, then no responses, I called tried again to contact other solar company January 15, 2024, in the morning, someone answered the phone to tell me, “good luck with your solar being installed we are without jobs all employees been released.” I panicked thinking I’ve been scammed and now I’m stuck paying for a solar system not fully installed and not working. Initially January 15, 2024, in the afternoon, I walked into Organ Mountain Solar & Electric lost, upset and confused because after dealing with another solar company since May 2023 making credit card payments for a solar system not hooked up with little to no progress. I was embarrassed but explained my situation that this other solar company basically set me up with a huge credit card bill but did not finish the job. The owners’ Corey Asbill, Alex Cardone and technician Matthew Chandler listened to my situation, which lower my stress and said they would be out the next day to see if they can finish the installation process for me. Coming in the beginning to midpoint of someone else’s job is difficult, but Matthew did and explained the whole process, which eased my mind of the mess I got myself into with the other company. I was scammed out of money and mad at myself for being taken advantage of. Matthew and team worked with the city permit office to do a reinspection to have my system pass inspection. The electric company came out to do their inspection it failed because the other company didn’t submit all the documentation correctly, but Organ Mountain fixed the documentation, and the electric company reinspected and installed the meter. I spoke with electric company technician who asked me who I initially used to install my solar he already knew the company before I told him because he said they always do horrible work and fail their inspections. He said Organ Mountain does excellent work when he inspects their work always right and professional. I said, “funny you mention Organ Mountain Solar that is who has helped me with getting my system up to code for you to reinspect”. They have been so knowledgeable and professional. He said he could tell that when he came back to reinspect it was Organ Mountain work. Matthew walked me through the whole solar system and established my account with the Enphase, showed me the app. Organ Mountain also provided me with their tax person so I can submit my federal/state tax rebates next year. Matthew sent me a text: Congratulations you are producing electricity on April 12, 2024. Thank you, Organ Mountain Solar & Electric, especially Matthew who went above and beyond to provide excellent advice, service and taking the time to work with me when my trust in businesses was severely damage. So many things to say about their service to the customers they serve. I have told many of my friends, co-workers, and family if they are considering a solar system or electrical work, give Organ Mountain Solar & Electric an opportunity to provide the information you need! I highly recommend Organ Mountain Solar & Electric with continuous stars. Best company in my book……customer for life.

The sales staff, installation crew, electricians, technical support team, and owners made this installation a great success.

Reliable and Competent

I hired Organ Mountain Solar & Electric to expand an existing system of 4 panels previously installed by Positive Energy in 2014. Since I had experienced no problem with the photovoltaic panels in the years since 2014, & Organ Mtn. was designated to continue my original 25 yr warranty by Positive Energy when they moved to Albuquerque, I chose this company due to reputation for integrity & competence. Organ Mtn. updated inverters on my older panels, updated electrical requirements, & installed another 12 panels, combining both systems effectively. Their staff was exceptionally reliable to contact for any questions; explained & graphed where panels would be installed & exactly what to expect from them; explained each step of installation clearly; & processed all paperwork for El Paso Electric approval, inspections, & state tax credits in a timely manner. Due to being in demand, they were backed up for quite a while, but were worth the wait, & once able to start, finished my project quickly. Since panels were operational effective June 1, my electric bill has only balanced out to credits, & I am confident my new 25 yr warranties will be honored. I recommend this company to anyone considering investing in a photovoltaic system.

Exceptional Company

The definition in regards to Quality Assurance that I have used in my life/work is one knows they have a quality product and/or service when it exceeds customers' expectations. Organ Mountain Solar is such a company, From Donald's initial comprehensive interview-explaining in detail what would be involved from start to completion-the inspections needed, approximate time lines. All staff we interacted with were professional and respectful. They have even helped with completion for forms for NM solar tax rebate. My wife and I are so pleased with our decision to go with Organ Mountain Solar. During this heat wave we have not had to pay a single electric bill, the electric company owes us credits. Great company, solar great for the environment. Highly recommended.

Impeccable!

I wanted to thank Donald Wiklund from Organ Mountain Solar for the excellent installation and service we received. The equipment is top notch, and the array is impeccably installed, the number of panels is appropriate for our use; our electric bills are about ZERO. They did a drone evaluation of our roof and sun exposure and designed a beautiful very flat installation that you cannot even see from the front of the house. Organ Mountain Solar applied for our state of NM rebate for us…we just had to e-sign the application. They have provided the tax form and info for federal rebate too. We consulted and got bids from 3 different solar companies. The others tried to sell us inferior brands and tried to convince us theirs were better but when we did the research we were convinced that Organ Mountain Solar was the best! We had several personal friends that had used them and were very happy with them so we chose this local business. If you are looking to install solar, I cannot recommend them enough! They are impeccable! Sincerely, Elena Hofmann-Smith Westridge Drive Las Cruces

Excellent choice for solar installation!

There are several phases to a residential solar installation -- site survey, panel layout plan, panel installation, electrical hookup, city inspection, electric company inspection and activation (I probably missed a few) -- and at every stage Matt at Organ Mountain Solar kept us up to speed and informed. The site survey guy, the project planner, the installation crew, and the electricians were all friendly, informative, and very professional. The panels they installed are REC, which show up at the top of the heap for efficiency and longevity. The city inspection went flawlessly, and the electrician from El Paso Electric who did the final meter hookup was very complimentary about Organ Mountain's work. This morning I was able to go to our site page online and see that all 14 panels are producing 950+ Wh, our total solar electric production is 13.2 KWh, and our usage is 9.9 KWh, and we're exporting 7.3 KWh. Everything about the project with Organ Mountain Solar & Electric has been first-class. A note for those shopping for solar installation: I read a lot of really bad customer comments about some other installers working the Las Cruces area. The El Paso Electric electrician who did our final activation mentioned that with some installers he's seen the required electrical line diagrams had been scrawled on notebook paper with grease pencil -- very unprofessional. Remember you will have these panels for a decade or more, so choose your installer wisely!

Organ Mountain Solar is Great

Organ Mt Solar has completed installation and it will be a few weeks before final inspection by El Paso Electric and local utility. Organ Mountain Solar has been wonderful from start to finish; their project time frame was accurate. Most importantly their staff are simply nice people who take pride in their work. I like the fact that they are established and local, that they talk about pride in their work, they respond quickly to questions, and being 'dog friendly' during installation is a bonus. We have nothing but good things to say about them!

Setting a High Standard

OMSC has done an excellent job from first contact to system turn on. They were very helpful without being pushy during system design and negotiation, even making a deal for my system. The installation was quick, professional and ahead of schedule. They have been super helpful and communicative. throughout the process. When I priced systems they cost a bit more than the competitors and its been worth every cent.

Well worth the wait!!! Amazing staff all round

Great team to work with, clean install no corners cut. They listen to how you want a particular setup and they make it work. I cannot recall all of the names of the workers that I dealt with, but I can truly say with confidence that they are true professionals. Donald, my lead sales agent made sure that things were taken care of and done right.

Honest, Trust worthy

The entire experience (even warranty) was pleasurable. Troy was honest about tax credits (state and federal), time frame, cost, timing of payments due, and warranty. Troy clearly explained the different ways PNM deals with excess solar (I choose not to sell it back to them). Even the co-owners gave me their cell phone numbers to resolve any problems or questions I had. They got me the New Mexico tax credit certificate, after the job was done, that is required to claim the state solar tax credit. A microinverter went out and they drove the 100+ miles to replace it, once they had part, at no cost to me.

Great experience from start to finish!

My neighbor had a sales shark talk her into a solar upgrade and offer her a discount if her friends signed up. I accepted the meeting and was horrified at the high pressure sales pitch. I looked on Nextdoor to see who my neighbors loved for their solar and the number one company recommended was Organ Mountain. From the first phone call to Vivian I was hooked. She treated me like a first cousin on her moms side! Same day I got a call from Donny and we set up a video meeting ( pandemic ). No high pressure! No sign here today or else! Explained everything and never treated me like I was stupid. He was patient, kind and very knowledgeable. He had an answer to each of my questions and when I said I needed to get a few more quotes, total respect. I did my research and it all lead back to Organ Mountain as the best option for local and direct quality and follow up. They recommended a bank but I could chose my own. Their bank turned out to be great too. They assisted and held my hand every step of the way. I had to slow them down on instillation because of a refi and again NO PRESSURE. When I was ready they were ready. They were realistic on timelines and my instillation is complete. I am rolling backwards! Ben was great with handling all my tax prep for me and very competent in accuracy and detail. The instillation team was awesome! My cameras caught them as they watched my turtles play. It was cute, ya had to see it. Donny was very responsive and even rushed over to inspect my system after our first bad storm. Donny followed me every step of the way and never left me feeling passed off. Then you get the full educational from Donny post instillation. As for my neighbor…she is still waiting for that upgrade after she paid long ago. Thank you OMSE.

Organ Mountain Solar

Organ Mountain Solar was absolutely great to work with. The crew who installed the solar system finished everything in one day and worked like a well-oiled machine. Donald was particularly knowledgeable, helpful, and incredibly professional as well as everyone at the office. We appreciate the ease in the process and strongly recommend Organ Mountain Solar to anyone interested in installing solar.

Awesome Compay!!!!

Organ Mountain Solar is by far one of the best company to work with. Cory has always answered all my questions big or small in a timely manner as well. As for the installation crew they were quick, clean and efficient. Organ Mountain also has very friendly employees and keep you up to date on every step of the process. Hands down best company to work with. They also come when they say and are on time

A Job Well Done

OMS was referred to us by a friend, and we have nothing but stellar reviews from initial contact to planning to installation, everything was done professionally and promptly. Customer service is second to none, it's great to experience it. Would recommend to anyone considering solar. Most of our 18 panels are on a peaked roof with concrete Spanish tile shingles, and the way they anchored the panels was quite ingenious.

Top-Notch Right-On Solar Company

After doing some shopping around for the best company to go with for solar panels, it was clear that I needed to choose Organ Mountain Solar Company. They offer the best for everything for the money you spend. For the best quality product, and professionalism, always friendly customer service, and excellency in everything. And, they are always ready to help you if you ever need anything or have any questions. They explain everything to you from the beginning, and you can trust them. They make you feel like family, and no holes in your roof like some do. I can see why they won the 2021 award. Thank you Organ Mountain Solar. Keep doing your great work.

Organ Mountain Solar and Electric

Superb service from sales consultants to engineering to actual installation. Seamless and efficient. Friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Very pleased with process and these estimable experts!

A Solar Dream Team!

I installed solar on my house in 2015. When I sold that house this year, the company who I used was no longer in the area. Some of the employees from that firm started Organ Mountain Solar & Electric to fill the void of LOCAL expertise. That is every reason why I chose them for my current home and solar project. They truly are a dream team! When the owners are up on your roof installing panels, you know you are getting a company that walks the talk. I am over the moon happy with the entire process. Knowing they are just a call/text away in case of any problems, is a huge relief. This is a significant financial investment and they definitely back up their work. I am already referring potential clients to them! Between the expertise and the use of credible, proven products, they are the complete package.

Professional and thorough solar company

This review relates to the third system I or may family have had installed and serviced by Organ Mtn. All three have worked exactly as was promised in the sales phase. However, what stands out about OMSE is their service after the sale. One of my systems that was installed by another company, of whom many are now with OMSE. The company that was the underwriter, SunPower, restructured and closed their local office. That system had a malfunction and I haggled with SunPower for over six months trying to get them to fix the problem. I finally called OMSE and within a week my system was fixed. In addition, the after-installation service with OMSE is exemplary. From helping fill in the forms for the state tax credits to making sure the monitoring of the system is functioning to ensuring the system is performing up to its designed capacity, OMSE is exactly how any business ought to function. Excellent people from sales to engineering to installation.

Quality Products At Good Value With Great Customer Service

We researched installers and solar panels on the internet and asked for quotes from five. Organ Mountain Solar & Electric was neither the cheapest nor the most expensive. They were flexible and provided several quotes with different high quality panel vendors and panel configurations. There was no sales pressure and they answered all of our questions. They got excellent reviews including a word-of-mouth recommendation from our neighbor. They have a well defined and documented process and did all the communicating with the county inspectors and El Paso Electric. They were able to schedule our installation a month after the contract signing and it happened exactly on schedule on the two hottest days of summer. Their work was neat and they cleaned up and removed all of the packaging. They warned that the county inspectors were behind (partly due to COVID-19) and apologized. But after several weeks a county inspector passed our system, El Paso Electric replaced our meter with a two-way meter (to enable net metering), and our system came online. It is performing better than the estimates and we could not be happier. Organ Mountain Solar & Electric provided us copies of and guidance on state and federal income tax credit forms. Corey, Aaron, Alex, Troy, Scott and the whole team are friendly, experienced, local professionals. We recommend them for your southern New Mexico solar project.

I now know why they are highly rated in Las Cruces

What can i say, these guys are professional, friendly, and great. This is my second solar system install and my first using Organ Mountain Solar and Electric. From my first meeting with their senior sales advisor, Donald Wiklund to the last consult with their project manager, Scott Burns, they made the process of installing a new solar system on my new home very easy. They were extremely knowledgeable about the design, installation, testing, and follow-up. They also walked me through the necessary steps to self monitor the system and rebate redemption. Overall, I am very happy with the service they provided.

Knowledgeable professional team, great job at a reasonable price

Organ Mountain Solar and Electric installed a solar system on our home in November 2019. As a retired engineer, and after taking an NMSU workshop on residential solar energy, I was impressed by the professionalism of their team and their obvious expertise and experience. Donald Wiklund, our sales advisor, and Scott Burns, our project manager, and the whole installation team (led by Alex) were first rate. Communicated well and showed up on time, and took care of all the dealings with the city (inspections) and EPE (new meter). I only got one other quote before deciding on OMSE, mainly because I was impressed by their knowledge and professionalism. The other quote was more money for a less capable system. Since switching on the solar, all my electric bills (up through early June) have been negative! EPE paid me off with a check in April, and I'm building up credit again. I imagine I'll use more electricity than the solar generates when I run the AC full time in July, but I think any bills will be small. I highly recommend these guys to anyone considering getting a solar system.

Very professional team

I chose Organ Mountain Solar & Electric for my Solar Needs through word of mouth as a home grown, dependable, and honest business. I highly recommend working with Donald Wiklund for your purchasing needs as he always responds to questions and or any issues with the system.

Great service and does as hoped for

Great price. No run around

I recently had a 30 panel system installed by Organ Mountain Solar and Electrical. The whole process was really easy and the team has been nothing but professional every step of the way. Donald in sales was extremely helpful in explaining all of the benefits of investing in a solar system. He provided me with all of the information that i need to make an informed decision. Scott the project manager kept me informed at all times as we worked thought the planning phase. He worked to ensure that we maximize the system to fit our energy needs now and in the future. The installation team was very professional and did an outstanding job! Aaron and Alex went above and beyond to provide excellent advice before, during, and after the installation. If you are considering a solar system give Organ Mountain Solar an opportunity to give you all the information you need!
