Open Sky Energy

We were very pleased with every aspect of our Open Sky Energy solar panel experience. Joe and Michael were quick to respond to our initial request for information and an analysis of the costs and benefits of installing solar at our house. They worked with us when there was a slowdown with our roofer, even saving us a spot in their installation schedule to make sure we would be included among their customers trying to beat the deadline for the solar tax credit. They answered all our questions, provided a very professional and thorough proposal, got all the necessary permits and inspections, and installed the panels just when they said they would. We appreciated how personable and professional they were at every step in the process. We highly recommend Joe and Michael and Open Sky Energy to everyone considering a solar project.

I have lived in my house here in Swarthmore for more than 32years. It’s an old house and we have invested heavily in its maintenance and modernisation. We have engaged many contractors. Our experience with Open Sky Energy is the best we have had. I would recommend the Open Sky team for their technical expertise and efficiency. They did a first rate job for us at a reasonable affordable price. If solar is the option for your home, I recommend Open Sky from planning, assessment, installation, to follow up. Without reservation!

In 2010, I was listening to Science Friday on NPR when the host was interviewing a couple of young fellas about their solar installation business. My husband and I were interested in adding solar panels and Open Sky was local. Michael and Joe came out, along with two national installers for estimates. We were so impressed with Michael and Joe! Not only do they do all the work themselves but had a good price. Since then, we continue to be impressed! The few issues we've had have been addressed promptly and they respond quickly. We highly recommend Open Sky solar. The $10 electric bills are hard to beat, as well.

Open Sky Energy is a great company to work with. No pushy sales pitch, just honest, knowledgeable, friendly and patient support during the entire process. Two of the founders did the actual install, I don't know how you could do better than having that kind of expertise on site. Everything has been flawless in our system, and during the literal hottest August in recorded history we paid $0 for our electric. There's also good ongoing communication after the installation and support to get setup with credits from the state. I would absolutely recommend Open Sky Energy to anyone who wants to get their installation done right and know they'll be supported if needed.

A few years ago we had these panels installed along with the electrical wiring work, meter, etc. done by Open Sky. The work was completed on-time, on-budget and they were completely respectful of our property. They patiently explained every step along the way to us, including how to manage the tax credit part. We didn't end up getting the battery backup however they made a commitment to keep in touch and let us know when the best battery became available. They came back to our place about a year ago to make sure everything was still as it should be. It was satisfying to us to be able to support this local business and do our part towards the green revolution. Even though it is a modest number of panels, we are also happy about being ready for the next generation of more efficient ones when ours are exhausted since our house is already wired for this technology now, thanks to Open Sky Energy!

Joe and Mike were excellent. I thought they offered just the right balance of professionalism and informality. It seemed clear that their work is a reflection of deeply held values about environmentalism and high quality standards. I have no complaints.

Joe & Mike were very patient explaining everything in a way we could understand, each step of the way. It was a very positive experience. Even after the work was completed, they remained in contact to answer any of our follow-up questions.

Mike and Joe were helpful and professional throughout sales, design and installation. They continue to be available and helpful.

OpenSky was great to work with. Really happy with the system.

Fabulous experience!
