We originally had installed our solar system with 14 panels. Several problems resulted from this installation. We found that when multiple problems occurred, Olson's did not respond. We were left with the opinion that Olson's approach to address issues was to ignore them and hope they just go away. Later we decided to increase the number of panels. Unfortunately, we needed to go back to Olson's, which proved to be an error in judgement. Same issues as before. The project manager would not respond to issues. There was a large amount of damage done to our yard. As requested, we took pictures. Sent them out which resulted with unfulfilled promises that Olson would fix. We were so frustrated that we wrote a 3-page letter outlining issues and sent the letter along with the pictures and copies of emails to Cameron Olson himself. Again nothing. Olson Solar left us high and dry. Best advice is to use another solar contractor. They do not care!

System has been operational for 2 years and couldn't be happier. Our bill with Xcel is only $16 a month. The project manager walked us through the process and made sure the project was done in a timely manner. Great team and quality work.

Took out a loan for solar- figured I would be growing towards energy independence and the system would eventually pay for itself. Wrong. Since having solar installed, I have almost doubled my electricity consumption. It's as if the energy I am producing is being charged as if I am using it. This has been a bad experience from the beginning. They bored under my blacktop driveway and heaved it up. They installed a monitoring system for my solar and it hasn't worked in 3 months. Nobody will help me troubleshoot. When the system was working, I constantly had one panel that wasn't producing solar. If you want to fight constantly with your system, go ahead. I regret this purchase 100%

Olson Solar was great throughout the process of evaluating our property, keeping us informed, getting needed permits, installation, and follow-up on teaching us about monitoring our new system, and receiving tax rebates. HIGHLY recommend them!

I have a new 16 panel ground mounted system and wish to thank Olson Solar Energy for the excellent job they did on my project. They worked with me on both the quantity of solar panels required as well as the variation between roof mount and ground mount systems. Being in a rural area, the ground mount was a better means to get a higher power output from the solar panels. The layout went very well with them and I will also like to commend the installation crew for making some minor adjustments to the grounds around my solar grid to allow for a better layout to provide the highest available light level around all the trees on my property. I am very satisfied with all the professional services Olson Solar Energy provided on this project as well as with the Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative who got the system activated promptly after finally receiving the delayed site inspection approval by Adams County. Owner never took any ownership of the screw up and blamed the power company and proceeded to belittle me for the fact that I was upset with the fact that they lied about the problems for over a month and kept telling us that we were going to have the panels up running every week. And when I called them out and expected answer they told me I stress them out and that they will not talk to me and hung up on me. This was a $70000 project I think I had every reason to be upset and demand answers. We never received an apology for these issues from the owners.

They also elevated my arrays so I can drive mower under them...a real plus to me. Microinverters and 2 large arrays totalling 56 panels. Days still short and put out 102KWH yesterday (Jan 27th). Last year I averaged 12.7 kWh of electrical usage per day, including summer days of heavy AC use. In the first 70 days since my solar panels have been working I have captured on average 15.1 kWh per day. This time of year is suboptimal for solar radiation. Nevertheless, in those 70 days I captured 414 kWh more energy than I have used in my home. The excess runs back to Xcel where I will receive a reimbursement at the end of the year. I have a 14 panel, 4.34 kW system. Because of the size of my roof it initially was going to be 12 panels. After clarification of City of La Crosse ordinances I was able to increase the panels to 14. Because of the limitation of my old electrical meter Olson Solar decided it was best if they installed a new meter. I'm sure this resulted in unexpected hardware and labor costs for Olson. However, I was not charged even a cent for the upgrade. The system communicates with my computer via wi-fi, where you can monitor the performance of the solar panels. It updates every 15 minutes. I enjoy watching the kWh's pile up through out the day, especially on sunny days. Note that currently there is a 26% deduction of the cost of your system on your federal taxes. Also, Focus on Energy awards a $300 rebate per kW of your system (4.34 x 300 = $1300 for mine). Both of these incentives are for the year 2020.
