Nova Solar

Outstanding solar installer

It's difficult to accurately capture the level of positivity I have experienced with Nova Solar. From start to finish they were among the most professional, attentive and responsive companies I've ever worked with. Every question was answered quickly and clearly, every step in the complex process of juggling county, state and utility rules handled on their end. Our project required the use of a 3rd party pavilion installer which they fully handled, and now we have this amazing backyard shaded spot that's sucking up the photons and spitting out electrons. My wife and I couldn't be happier with Nova Solar, and I think after you call around and work with a few other companies for quotes, you'll see the difference when you contact Nova.

Nova Solar made it easy

Nova Solar designed and installed our system and made the entire process so easy for us. They handled all the background work with permits and even helped us with our HOA documents. Everyone was friendly and professional to deal with. We liked the products they offered and their price was considerably better than the local competition. The whole process went faster than we expected and we are very happy with the results. Highly recommend Nova Solar.

Responsive, Organized and Professional

I cannot say enough good things about Nova Solar. They were one of the most responsive companies I have ever worked with. Everything was so organized and very easy to follow. If you were like me, you knew minimal about Solar. Nova walked me through the process from beginning to end. Very professional and great to work with. I cannot recommend them enough.

Extremely happy with the work that Nova Solar did to install my large 54 panel system. They quickly answered my (many) questions before and after system installation, along with being flexible when I asked to expand my system beyond the original proposal. All in all I couldn't be happier with the way it all turned out!

The perfect combination of professional and personable

After much research we chose Nova Solar for the installation of panels on the roof of our townhouse. We could not be any happier with the job they did. They told us what to expect and when and then delivered accordingly. We appreciate that though ours was probably a small job for them we felt as if they treated us extremely well. We also appreciated their handling of the red tape needed to get the panels up on our roof and operational. Every day we look at the amount of energy they are producing and are just filled with glee.

Excellent to work with!

Nova solar was excellent to work with and I recommend them. They took care of everything – the permitting, planning, inspections, incentives, etc. They were quick to respond and very professional throughout the entire process. I’m very happy with our 9.7 kW system.

Great Experience!

We had a 21kW ground mount system engineered and installed by Nova Solar. From start to finish, the Nova Solar team was responsive and a pleasure to work with. The entire process couldn't have been easier. If you're interested in solar, I would definitely recommend them.

"WORRY FREE, EXCEPTIONAL PROFESSIONALISM, ON-TIME INSTALLATION"

We reviewed half a dozen quotes prior to selecting Nova Solar for our project. They were responsive to our questions prior to selection, provided regular updates throughout the process, and handled all the administrative documentation for the state, county, utility, and HOA. The site survey and installation were convenient and the most professional. The system is attractive and has low visibility compared to other installations in our neighborhood. The Nova Solar team provided all of the documentation for the various incentives, pre-filled all but the personal identification and signatures. This was provided with a convenient online directory documenting the entire project. I recommend Nova Solar to my family, friends, and anyone who asks about our experience.

Excellent and Professional

Nova Solar did a great job for us. The survey, paperwork and installation were handled expertly, on budget and on time with no surprises. Thus far the production is exceeding expectations. From the initial estimate to job completion, they were in constant communication. Throughout the paperwork process for the county and the electric utility, we got a status email each week, even if there was nothing new to report. After we got final permission to operate from the utility and turned the system on, Nova Solar provided a complete package of all of the paperwork and info needed for the solar energy credits. We can't say enough about the professionalism and expertise of Nova Solar.

Great process and gret results

Great experience - from initial contact to final wrap-up. No hard sell, just a good explanation, walked me through permitting (Pepco, Montgomery county, HOA), very smooth installation and support till system worked. Great communciation as well - highly recommended!

Chester Gap VA system

Just completed the installation of a 9kW system on my house. NovaSolar handled everything, including patiently educating this elderly homeowner who was fairly ignorant of solar technology. I am thrilled to be generating my own power, especially now given what is happening in Ukraine and its potential impact on energy prices. Also happy to be doing my part to protect my grandchildren's future. The crew at NovaSolar was simply wonderful.

Wonderful experience - 10/10

Nova Solar installed a rooftop residential system for me in September of 2021. Everyone on the Nova Solar team was a pleasure to work with. They helped me understand what my options were, provided accurate cost estimates, preformed the work exactly as promised, help me get the system up and running, and answered every question I had the system was installed and certified. They provided top-flight professional service at every stage of the process. I have worked with plenty of frustrating contractors, but working with Nova Solar was the complete opposite. I would recommend them to anyone looking to go solar in the DMV - and they will be the first call I make if I ever need solar installed in a future home. I don't think you'll find a better solar installer in the DMV!

Highly recommend Nova Solar

We had solar panels installed nine months ago by Nova Solar. I waited to give a review after seeing how the panels produce. Out of eight electric bills, we produced 100% of our power on four of them. We produced the majority of our power the remaining four months which was during the summer when our usage was pretty high. We had contacted two companies to give us quotes for solar. One company was quoting a 60% offset with high pressure sales, and the other company was quoting a 75% offset. We looked at reviews for both companies, and they were horrible. We had decided we probably would not go solar with the amount of money we would be spending to still have a pretty substantial electric bill. After doing some more research I stumbled upon Nova Solar. I could not find anything negative on this company. Believe me I looked for every review I could find. From the moment I made the first phone call to the end of the project everything went perfect. I had finally found a company that was quoting a 101% offset. They do an excellent job giving updates on the status of the project. On the day of installation, they were on the roof at 7 a.m. (one of them had driven over four hours to be here at that time). They use ladders that do not come in contact with the house guttering which was nice. They had installed 35 solar panels, done the wiring, and completed two inspections and were leaving our house at 1:15 p.m. These guys work great as a team. The only thing that seems a little odd is the panels are not the same color on a cloudy day. When it’s full sun, they all match. When I asked about it, they said they should even out over time, but it hasn’t happened yet. If you want to install solar on your home, I highly recommend Nova Solar.

Job well done

Outstanding company. Phone calls answered timely, emails answered timely, my many questions never a negative response. I would recommend Nova Solar to anybody.

A real pleasure working with Nova Solar.

I cannot say enough good things about Nova Solar. From the moment we requested a bid from them they have been nothing but professional. There solar bid was straight forward and there was no pressure to accept it, they were responsive to all questions along the way, kept me informed of everything going on and for those things they were responsible for everything was on time. They even took care of coordinating permits and inspections with Arlington County, and the cutover with Dominion Power. Working with them could not have been any easier.

Stress-free experience!

I can’t recommend Nova Solar highly enough. From the first quote through installation and finally to turning my system on, everyone I dealt with at the company was responsive, friendly, and knowledgeable. I was never in the dark about the status of the process because Tripp, Barklie, and Julian kept me informed every step of the way and took the initiative to clear potential obstacles. They leaned forward on making sure we had everything we needed to claim all the incentives for which we were eligible. Our HOA even complimented us on the application for our solar system, saying it was the most thorough they had seen. If you are looking into having solar installed, Nova Solar is the place you should start.

Ground Mount Install

Thank you for helping us to FINALLY get our solar installed!!! Barklie provided awesome customer service...and literally responded to emails/phone calls right away. I highly recommend this crew over the other solar companies!

Great Company -- There When It Mattered!

When we ran into some issues following the installation of new siding on our home, we had a terrible time finding any reputable solar installers who would work on our system. In fact, one told me that they were only interested in installing new systems. Then I found Barklie and his team at Nova Solar. They helped us right from the start -- before we knew it, our system was up and running again, issues resolved, new parts ordered and installed. They were always very professional, willing to answer questions, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. We have a large system, and will undoubtedly have needs in the future to keep it working well. We will, without a doubt, be calling Nova Solar for all of our solar needs.

Amazing Work!

From the beginning of the process, to the final check after the installation, Nova Solar was professional, transparent, informative and personable. They far exceeded our expectations, particularly after we had gone part-way through the process with another company. Even though their bid was slightly higher than the other company, it turned out that going with Nova Solar was a much better deal. They are more interested in educating the consumer than turning a quick buck. They patiently answered all our questions, and worked with us throughout to ensure that both the financing and the logistics of the installation would be smooth and manageable for us. Jake, Barkley and Trip each provided invaluable support. We are so grateful to have found Nova Solar.

Professional and flexible

Nova Solar was very willing to work with our unique situation, a solar carport, and expertly navigated Fairfax County’s strict building, zoning, and environmental requirements in a Registered Protected Area (RPA) without any change orders or up-charges. Trip and Barklie were enthusiastic and professional, and I’d wholeheartedly recommend Nova Solar!

Job Well Done

Nova Solar recently installed a 10kw solar system on my home. In summary - they were communicative, professional and great to get along with. During the quote process, they were the best at understanding my needs - and they were the most responsive in terms of questions/issues. Once selected, they were prompt with all electronic communications and assisted in the HOA and permitting approval processes. Site survey and design were thorough yet flexible, and the install itself went very smoothly and was completed in under 7 hours. I would definitely recommend Nova Solar.

Highly Recommended

I chose Nova Solar because they seemed very knowledgeable about the details of their work. For example, they informed me that the vent pipes sticking out of my roof could just be cut short and PV panels installed over them. Another company said I would need to have the vents relocated to another part of the roof. I was very happy I chose Nova Solar. Everyone I interacted with was indeed very knowledgeable, hard-working, and professional and also just enjoyable to talk to. I highly recommend them!

Excellent performance on all aspects of the job

We had a very favorable experience with Nova Solar on every aspect of installation of a rooftop solar energy system at our home. As we were gathering estimates from various installers, Nova Solar’s proposal was both competitively priced and based on realistic assumptions about the prospective system’s output. Nova Solar’s team provided timely and useful responses to all my questions throughout the process. The installation itself was smooth and efficient; the crew arrived as scheduled at 6:00 sharp and completed the installation by 11:00 a.m., while being careful not to leave any messes either inside or outside the house. The installed array of panels makes for an aesthetically pleasing arrangement centered on one half of the house’s roof. Nova Solar’s follow-up after installation was also thorough, including dealing with country inspectors and the power company, providing paperwork to claim tax credits, and getting the online monitoring system set up. I can highly recommend Nova Solar for any residential solar energy installation.

Excellent company for rooftop solar installation

Nova Solar was amazing. I had no idea getting solar panels would be such an involved and bureaucratic process, involving all sorts of county approvals and so on, and the folks at Nova Solar took care of everything, making it all very easy. Everything works wonderfully, and our home is now powered by the sun. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to install solar panels in the area.

100% Recommend! Great service!

I was connected with Nova Solar through the Energy Sage market place. They were one of several quotes that I received. What caught my eye was the inclusion of a mockup of the panels on my actual roof (curiously, no other company did this). It allowed me to see exactly what I was getting into. After reaching out over the phone, one of the co-owners of the company ran through the financials with me including the incentives and the process of a solar loan. I hadn't committed to anything at that point, so taking the time to answer my questions was a very positive experience. After selecting Nova Solar, my contact was extremely responsive via email. He provided me with heads up when he was going to be stopping by for site inspections, etc. He and his crew were always punctual, never giving me a time frame but an actual exact time of arrival! On install day, the crew was respectful and personable. The crew member that had to enter the house stayed masked (as I have small children in the house). He explained everything he was doing. He showed me the panels, boxes, etc that I was of course curious about. Overall it was a great experience and they absolutely live up to their high customer rating! I would 100% recommend them!
