Can't say enough great things about Mass Renewables!

After talking to seven different solar companies, I landed on Mike and crew at Mass Renewables. They are a great, professional, hard working team - that put up my solar system on some of the coldest days I can remember. I am the proud owner of 9.6KW, 300-w LG panel based system - and in the month of operation - couldn't be happier. I researched MR on BBB, watching their This Old House vid, calling references, and checking licenses. Everythingeveryone spoke very highly of the team. Mike is easy to work with and was happy to include me in the system design decisions. We started out with a simple layout on my main roof, but after thinking about everything, decided to go BIG. I asked Mike to lay out an array over my garage and a second on the main roof. We worked through a mix of inverter and monitoring options - landing on two different brands - doing so is a little out of the ordinary - but allowed me to obtain the full Mass-rebate AND have a solar powered 1500w emergency outlet. In addition, we decided on going with a more sophisticated monitoring system than is typical (so I can data-dive and mine to my heart's content) and Mike has been flexible. The electrician did a clean, beatiful install of the equipment in the garage. I kept going back and forth of where to lay out the equipment (basement utility room versus garage) and they were very flexible. The electrician wore booties and cleaned up after themselves! I highly recommend Mass Renewables.

Happy customer

Doing business with Mike Kelley of Mass Renewables was a pleasurable experience. His quote was reasonable, he did the work on time, the system works exactly as advertised, and -- unexpectedly -- the panels on my roof are beautiful. His electricians also did first class work, inside and out.

Great install

I used Mass Renewables to install a 3rd party solar system. They have been great to communicate with, fast responses and they will get you the info you are looking for. Jeff and his team were great to have on site. Very nice to interact with and great install. Kept the work site very clean. Coordinated all permits and aspects of the install.

Mike Kelley and Mass Renewables exceeded our expectations!

When we began our research into solar energy systems, we contacted several companies. Mike Kelley was more responsive than area competitors and worked with us to develop the type of system that would best suit our needs. He patiently helped us as our ideas evolved, even though it required numerous trips to our home and quite a few different cost proposals. We had insufficient roof space to produce the amount of energy we wanted and eventually decided we would like a system that would tilt and track the sun's movement. Competitors we had contacted tried to dissuade us from using a tracking system; one claimed trackers were "glitchy" and would require frequent repairs. Mike, on the other hand, researched and located a Vermont manufacturing company with years of experience in tracking systems, a solid reputation for service, and a great warranty. Although he had not yet installed a tracker himself, Mike worked closely with the Vermont company to install and adjust the tracker to tilt and follow the sun to provide the maximum amount of energy possible. By using the tracker, we did not need as many solar panels as a fixed system would require. And we do not have to manually tilt the panels; the tracker does it all. Mike's price for the system was better than those quoted by competitors for systems that would not produce as much energy! His attention to detail and follow through to ensure precision tracking were superb. Our system was installed on July 1, 2013. We used air conditioning extensively during the summer, and now in the colder months, use electricity to keep two rooms very warm for our elderly father. Yet we still have a credit with NStar and have yet to pay for the electricity we use. We highly recommend Mike Kelley and Mass Renewables! -Marc and Glenna Laverdiere

Mke Kelley is a professional in every sense of the word. He worked quickly, held our hand through the entire process, and handled all the hassles. Very, very happy to have had him Install our panels.

Mass Renewables Review

Mass Renewables did an excellent job installing our solar panels. Mike Kelly was flexible in his availability to meet with us before or after our work hours to discuss the project. He did not pressure us. He helped organize the additional contractors, such as tree removal, at costs lower than the estimates we were receiving without him. He kept us updated at each stage of the process. The project was completed on schedule and at the price quoted. I strongly recommend working with Mass Renewables. We had started with another group and the communication was poor so I am very glad we changed.

Mass Renewables is an excellent contractor. They do the highest quality work. Our installation of PV panels was on an out-building which required underground conduit trenching and passage through another building at our site. This posed challenges for the contractor and the permitting process. Mass Renewables came up with a good electrical plan that answered all the building inspector`s questions. We are very satisfied customers! The secondary SREC incentive was instrumental in our decision to install the PV system. This is new and vital to encourage homeowners to install PV in Massachusetts.

Mike Kelley is very easy to work with. He is low pressure (sales), hard working, and exceptionally responsive. I think the biggest thing for me in choosing a contractor is struggling with feeling like I can trust the person and then dealing with schedule reliability. Mike stands out on both meausures.

Mass Renewables installed a SolarEdge system due to shading issues. They came up with this solution after my initial request for micro-inverters. This was the first time they had installed this system vs. a traditional inverter-only system. This was outside their comfort zone but did an excellent job with the installation. I highly recommend Mike Kelley and his company Mass Renewables.

Mass Renewables did an excellent job for us. Although it is only February, we are already starting to see many days where we are rolling our meter backwards! We`re so glad that we finally made the decision to go solar.

I did extensive search, did find a highest rating also on Better Business Bureau Website for this business as well. They were top notch, professional, well prepared company. Very happy with results.
