Luminalt Solar Energy Solutions

Solar Energy Power Is Great

I could not be more pleased with my entire experience with Lumina Solar and especially with my assigned representative, Charlie Keyser. From the very beginning, Charlie took the time to conduct a detailed review of my past electricity usage and anticipated future power needs so that Lumina could develop the most appropriate and efficient solar-panel system for my home. I never felt that I was simply being sold a standard package. The system was carefully designed around my actual needs. That same attention continued throughout the entire project. Charlie kept me informed and updated at every stage—from the initial planning and design, through installation, inspections, utility coordination, and ultimately PTO (Permission to Operate). I always knew where the project stood and what would happen next. Lumina’s service did not end when the panels were installed or even when the system received PTO. They also handled the needed and perfect repair to a required cut out of piece of dry wall to access the water main in order to ground the panels’ electrical system. Lastly, Lumina Solar took care of submitting all necessary documentation to the Maryland Energy Administration on my behalf so that I could qualify for a significant state rebate. Having that complicated paperwork handled for me was an especially valuable part of their service. A solar installation involves far more than simply putting panels on a roof, and Lumina made the entire process remarkably easy for me. Charlie Keyser was knowledgeable, responsive, patient, and dependable from beginning to end. I give both Charlie and Lumina Solar my highest recommendation. If I were making the decision to go solar all over again, I would choose them again without hesitation.

10/10 Luminalt was great to work with for installing solar panels on the pitched roof of our home and battery storage in our garage! From initial assessment, to planning, to installation, to app setup, they answered our myriads of questions and were never pushy - always super professional. We messaged several solar installers for quotes, and Luminalt was prompt in their reply, as well as honest, and very knowledgeable. They definitely stood out from the rest and for good reason. Highly recommend!

I did 2 projects with Luminalt Solar - Rooftop panels in 2021 and a Tesla battery in 2026. These guys know their stuff and provide excellent customer service and efficient project management. I had a ton of questions related to the contract and install and everyone with whom I interacted was super friendly, knowledgeable and excited about solar!

In January this year I discovered that my NEM2 application from three years ago was still active and Luminalt helped me install a 5kw solar system system (no battery) and get it approved ahead of the April deadline. The team is extremely knowledgeable, they have done hundreds of successful installs in SF and know the permitting process and the building department inspectors personally to get things done quickly. Many other solar installers aren't local and while some of them might be slightly cheaper, they don't have the know-how, local connections, and/or expertise to get things done in a timely fashion. Luminalt was not only able to remove the battery from the original quote, install panels and inverter in just a few days, but explained the process throughout the project in great detail. Great communication, super responsive, and on-time completion. Couldn't have been better.

This was as good an experience as we could have hoped for—and then some. The Luminalt team bent over backwards to work around our city inspector’s requirement for a major electrical upgrade before they could replace our aging 2009 solar system. Because our roof also needed replacement, Luminalt coordinated seamlessly with our roofer on the old system removal and new stanchion installation, and with our electrical contractor on the upgrade. The most impressive part was their scheduling finesse. Once the city inspector finally gave the green light, Luminalt moved quickly and managed to complete the installation just before the December 31, 2025 tax‑exemption deadline, securing the full 30% savings we had already assumed would be out of reach. We couldn’t give a higher recommendation. If you’re installing a new solar system or replacing an old one, Luminalt is the team you want.

We purchased our solar panel array (13 panels) from Luminalt who also installed it - now 10 years ago. The inverter started issuing 'electric arc fault' messages about a year ago throwing the system off line. They were able to correct it at the time. Then toward the end of '25 the inverter issues multiplied to the point that it was felt it needed to be replaced. To their credit Luminalt was able to get that done days before the warranty expired. Then the replacement (newly refurbished) started showing fault issues within 24 hours but Luminalt came right back the next day and isolated the problem to a separate wiring harness box. They replaced the key wires and the system has been up and running ever since. To sum it up the Luminalt staff are a knowledgeable and friendly group who take their service responsibilities seriously. We are now exploring battery storage options with them as well.
