Excellent company with professional team, from sales, project manger, to customer service. Installation team completed installation of 30 panels within 2 days in June. Provided great customer service after installation and replaced two defected panels at no cost within 1 month after it was damaged by a hurricane in December.

Kamtech Solar installed our system in 2023 and is working reliably since then. They are quick to respond when I contact them to adjust some minor issues. Highly recommended.

I had kamtech installed solar panels last year after I did extensive research and comparisons with multiple installers. Kamtech provides the best value by proving top notch panels and comprehensive warranty. The whole process is smooth and so far, the production has been great cutting my electricity bill in half. From April to the end of summer, no electricity usage while incurring credit for winter. Great investment

Avoid Kamtech at all costs

Krzysztof Kaminski, who owns the company, is the most incompetent contractor and businessperson I have ever encountered. Because he did my roof and solar, I've been stuck with Kamtech around roof warranty issues, which has been nothing but a nightmare. They don't supervise their workers, nobody communicates, and Kris is completely useless. They installed my gutter so it pitched all the water into my front door; they got paint all over my siding; they never finished the flashing around my chimney, which I didn't discover until I got leaks in the ceiling; and most recently, they sent two roofers who didn't speak English, hadn't been instructed about the job, tore off a whole section of roof that they were supposed to leave intact, and then walked off the job. Avoid at all costs -- it is the worst solar/roofing company in NYC!

The process for getting our solar panels installed was very smooth. Marcel made collecting our information for the estimate extremely simple, and was a pleasure to talk to. Alex Lubin was very informative, did a great job letting us know what to expect, and really made the process of getting everything scheduled feel streamlined and easy to navigate. The process for the install was quick and easy, taking about 5 or 6 hours from start to finish. Everyone on the install team was very communicative, letting us know what was going on every step of the way. We're looking forward to our final inspection and getting the system turned on!

They failed the sniff test...

I was excited to install a SunPower solar system on my house which has a slate roof. SunPower referred me to Kamtech and Dan came to my house for an initial evaluation. He was pleasant and assured us that with the system that he designed we would get at least a 36% reduction in our electric bill. If we did not, he told us that we would get a check for the difference. Everything was great until we received the contract which was one sided and poorly written. There was no business or street address or contact info for the contractor in the contract, indemnification was one way only, and no mention of the 36% reduction guarantee just to mention a few items of concern. I googled the Inwood address which turned out to be a thrift shop (they said that they are located next door, but there is no Kamtech sign on the building at all). And then I read the company reviews which were glowing several years ago but have been scathing the past few years. I spoke with Ben (sales mgr) to give him an opportunity to explain but he became indignant and advised me that mine was a small job and that he was too busy to speak with me. I am thankful that I did not give them any money and they showed their true colors before doing any work on my home.

Aesthetics and quality are at the bottom of the list for this company. Chris, the owner does not know what he’s doing or does not care. Kamtech workers were just dropped off at my house and left to do whatever they wanted to. No project manager was ever on site, if you care about how the solar panels and equipment will look after installed, do not hire Kamtech.

Scam

Kamtech solar is a real scam. Have panels for 3 years and they have never produced per contract. It has been 3 year of back and forth and going in circles, a lot of talk, no doing to help the bottom line. they got their 28k and im left paying for it for years.

Awful to work with experience has been just awful

Had roof reshingled and the shingles started coming up after three weeks they came to re repair and now three more weeks later I hear them flapping in the wind!!! Now that solar has finally been turned on most of the power for our house is still coming from the power grid meaning we will still need to pay an electric bill. We were explicitly told the solar would offset the electric completely . But here we are paying both an electric bill and a solar bill.

Great experience - beginning to end

Have you ever been promised a smooth home improvement/upgrade only to be thoroughly disappointed? Yeah, we all been but mostly to end up disappointed and frustrated. When I spoke to Heshy Drew he made similar promises but this time I was pleasantly surprised. The whole solar installation process really was seamless. All I needed to do was decide on my financing and be home when they needed access to my home and they always came on time. Go figure being on time travelling to my home in Brooklyn (Marine Park). From the beginning to the end my experience with Heshy and the SunPower was 5 stars. The team notified me about approvals and visits in a timely fashion and provided text message and e-mail reminders and follow-ups. Even the financing process was easy. If you are thinking going solar think Heshy and SunPower.

Top notch product, good quality work, fair price, honest company

They installed a 5.5KWH system on roof. I had good experience with them. they did quality job, were responsive throughout. I had especially great experience with the sales rep Heshy Drew. Sunpower solar panels are considered the best.

Couldnt ask for a better experience from start to finish

After doing much research about the solar options in NYC I decided to go ahead and look into having solar panels installed on my roof. I am quite critical and do research before I make any decisions. I contacted 3 companies and after having consultations I narrowed my field to 2 major companies. Kamtech was one of the two. I had many questions that were already backed by thorough research and I started to notice a difference right from there. During my dealings with Kamtech who works with SunPower, I mostly dealt with Egor. Egor was extremely receptive and answered all of my questions while providing factual information back up with references. While dealing with the other company who I will not name, I noticed I was getting more scripted and generic information. Kamtech made me feel like they wanted my business and that they genuinely did have my best interest in mind. The other companies made me feel like I was just another potential buyer. Being an analyst by profession, I compared Kamtech and SunPower in many different areas to the competitor such as cost, efficiency of the their panels, warranty, up to date technology and past reviews. While doing all of my homework Egor from Kamtech continued to go out of his way to ensure his company provided me with the info I requested in an informative and timely matter while also going above and beyond to cater to some of my requests. Before I made my final decision I noted that the competitor who is a large mainstream company was offering a subpar product that was outdated. This would have severely affected the total production of my system. I waited until the process was complete before I recommended the company to any friends or wrote reviews because I felt that would be best. My residence is now producing equal to more than quoted on a daily basis, my installation was completed in a quick, informative and professional manner and my experience as a whole could not have been better. I can assure you that I am not one to write many recommendations for average work. Being a homeowner, I have come across many average and less than average contractors who have performed work for me. In fact, I have had more bad experiences than good and that is why I am pleased to be able to provide this info to others. I did not know of Kamtech or anyone in the company previously to contacting them from a recommendation from a friend. I can say without the shadow of a doubt that my experience with Kamtech was truly fantastic and I hope that I was able to convey that message with my review.
