Joule Solar Energy

My contract with Joule guarantees a certain number of kWh per year. Each year the system has under performed requiring Joule to reimburse me for the difference. In 2019, however, they simply don't respond to phone calls or letters requesting their required reimbursement. I see that BBB has revoked their accreditation. I'm considering legal action.

Avoid this business. If I could give fewer than one star, I'd try to take more away. Joule came to my home last year and made it sound like getting the refund is so easy. Just file on the first date for Louisiana and they'd take care of everything if funds run out. They say that to you in conversation. Their promo material says it (that simply) But their contract is filled with hurdles. They have been avoiding fulfilling their contract since I provided all information requested and outlined in the contract. I have provided my filing confirmation on the date I filed (time stamped evidence) and I forwarded a letter showing that the state has qualified me to get reimbursed next year. They are still refusing to defer the large loan they promised to defer if I provided them the aforementioned information. And this loan is accruing major interest. Do not do business with them. It's not worth your time or energy. Even more, during the installation process they went back on their own contract several times because my roof didn't accommodate all the panels they planned to install. They made this mistake at least twice. And didn't credit me until I brought it up.

Couldn't have asked for a better experience. After comparing quotes from several different companies in the area I found that not only did Joule have the best price but they also had the highest quality installers and materials. It was a no brainer to move forward with them considering it’s only $42/month for most systems. The install team arrived when expected and worked efficiently. The job was completed with good quality. The worksite was cleaned when the job was complete. Overall, everything met my expectations for a professional organization. Thanks for everything!

I worked with Butler Ives at Joule on my solar options and he helped me get the most bang for my buck. I was hesitant at first because I was worried how the solar panels would look cosmetically on my roof, but you can’t even see them from the street. They were also very helpful with finding me a simple and no cost financing option which was great. I would definitely recommend Joule to whoever is interested in looking into solar power.

After comparing quotes from other companies I found on Solar Reviews I went with Joule. Joule was just better in all areas. The biggest difference was the team behind the sales person that came out to my house. If I'm going to purchase something that will be around for the next 3 decades I only want the best putting it in.

Happy to say that after the process of evaluating several local (and some not so local) solar companies, we chose Joule Solar Energy. Working with Preston was very easy and I felt comfortable being able to ask questions without any pressure to buy. After signing up it was a breeze. Everyone that I came into contact with at Joule was exceptionally professional including the install team. Philip and his team arrived on a Wednesday morning and they were putting the finishing touches on the project when I came home early that day at 3pm to see how things were going. Wow! That was fast! I now have an 8kW humming away on my roof and I'm producing my own clean renewable energy. The only area that I would say they need to improve is having the Entergy install the net meter faster. I know they can't help that but someone should talk to Entergy and let them know that we ARE their customers! I have nothing but good things to say about these guys. If I could rate Joule Energy higher than great I would.Everyone I came in contact w/ was extremely professional and pleasant.Julian Thomas is my main contact w/ the company and is great in all areas,selling,explaining,designing the correct system, dealing w/ Entergy and following up. My system is collecting above the estimated amount.My monitoring is running smoothly and Joule is still in touch. I feel this is a company that stands behind their product. They are efficient, knowledgeable and prompt. Their business practices prove them to honest and extremelly professional.On completion of the installation Joule Energy leaves your property in perfect condition and you w/ the knowledge you can depend on them.

definitely glad I choose Joule Energy for my system and I would recommend them to other homeowner looking to add solar. I ended up just purchasing a solar PV system but was impressed by their knowledge of both solar PV and solar hot water systems.
