Independent Green Technologies (IGT)

In the latter half of 2025, IGT Solar designed my rooftop solar system, assisted with permitting, and installed the 19-panel system with microinverters. I asked a ton of questions, I changed my order early on, and I pushed them hard throughout the process - and IGT was always professional. There are 3 key players: IGT (the installation company), the City of Tallahassee (inspections and permits) and you, the homeowner. In my opinion, if you want a great result, the homeowner should plan to engage with the company and the city every step of the way. So far, I have to say I am very pleased with the outcome. Last month I had zero kWh on my bill and my system put more than 200 kWh back on the grid. And the system charged my plug-in electric vehicle. Many key factors determine cost effectiveness, so ask questions, engage in the design process, and stay involved. IGT Solar is a solid company.

IGT Solar really came through for us. We interviewed and received quotes from national and local firms. IGT came highly recommended by friends. We are happy to have selected an established local company which helped us deal with several complicating issues on site. IGT was competitive on price and installed the best equipment - sixteen of the highest producing panels on the market matched with the best Enphase microinverters on a ground-mounted rack. IGT installed panels more powerful than we contracted for which is wonderful bonus. IGT staff are a pleasure to work with. Their staff and crews are professionals and did excellent work. IGT worked overtime and pulled out all the stops to install my system by the end of December. They delivered on their commitments, and responded timely to my many questions throughout the process. I'll be calling IGT when I purchase an electric vehicle and need to add panels and batteries to my PV system. Update: When a microinverter failed after about 3 years, IGT's excellent service staff replaced the microinverter under warranty and charged a reasonable fee for their time. Following the purchase of an electric vehicle, IGT electricians installed an Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (charger) in my garage so we can recharge our EV at home using free electricity generated by the sun. IGT is a great company to work with.

fixing a difficult issue

IGT professionally and doggedly stuck to fixing a complete breakdown in our battery backup system that we rely on when the grid failed. The fix took many visits to the house and discussions with the system manufacturer over an extended time. IGT’s commitment to seeing the fix through is commendable. I strongly recommend that IGT be considered by those wishing to enter into the solar arena.

Happy with my IGT Solar purchase

I had to meet with a few installers before choosing IGT. They had the most knowledge and experience. Overall - happy with my solar system and they did what they said they would.

I could not be happier with the solar arrays that IGT installed for us in our backyard. The construction is incredibly solid, and the panels/inverters are of high quality. There is no doubt that this thing will still be standing after a major hurricane! Hats off to Jordan for working with me on the design and getting our financing in order. Its been a real pleasure watching the whole process of putting something like this in, from building the racks, to digging the trench to run the powerlines, to the actual panel installs... These guys are pro's, and they stand by their products and services! I look forward to working with them again in the near future on a battery system and possibly solar water heaters. ;)

IGT installed 21 solar panels on my home and did a great job. They handled everything; design, permitting, coordinating with roofer (put new roof on at the same time), negotiating interconnect agreement with power company, and educating me, the consumer, on how it all would work. It was IGT that advised me of the 30% federal tax credit. And the really good part about this story? - the results exceeded the projections on what my rate of return would be - or how fast I will pay it off. Going a little faster than projected! So if you're thinking of using solar I highly recommend you check out IGT.

I interviewed 3 companies before selecting Independent Green Technology (IGT) Solar to install my panels. They designed a great system. They showed up on time, did a great job, it looks good and it works great. The system works so good I have not paid an electric bill since the system was turned on. We have survived 3 hurricanes and had enough power to keep my important items running. I like that I can go on the web and see how much electricity we are making. The system works so good that I bought a Volt electric car and did not have to buy gas for 3 months because the car ran on solar. The system has already paid for itself and now I am making money off it. This is a better investment than my retirement fund. I was so happy with IGT that I insisted they let me help them design and sell solar.
