Gulf South Solar -Out Of Business

Our installation was done about five years ago. When it was done we paid the full price and it took Gulf South Solar about 6 more months to finish installing the ducts to our heating system that had been moved as part of the istallation. The result was that we had carbon monoxide going into our attic the every time we used the heat and we did not know it. Our heating company told us about it. We have been without our solar power since Thanksgiving, almost four months now. First, one board in one of the inverters quit and then the second board quit. The repair person is very nice and competent. But it takes forever to get things repaired and they typically do not return my emails.

I`ve put in two complete turn key system on my own prior to the one Gulf South installed. They did a better job than I could have done and much faster. Our parish requires no permits or inspections but the system was installed to code

They are so great at what they do, so rare today. What really impressed me was how well they cleaned up after the installation. I always have to go behind workers and pick up metal objects, wiring, and trash in general, but they left it spotless. Very professional and very on top of their jobs. A pleasure to work with. The Contractor was paid in full by the Finance Co. we then paid them the net amount.

delays were excessive but beyond GulSouth`s control -- it was the only source of unhappiness with the installation

I HAVE ENPHASE SYSTEM THAT MONITORS ALL MY PANELS,THEY HAVE RECENTLY CHANGE THE FORMAT WHICH ENABLED ME TO SEE EXACTLY HOW EACH PANEL ON MY ROOF WAS PREFORMING AND ITS EXACT LOCATION.NOW WITH OUT LOOKING AT MY MAPPING I CANNOT TELL WHICH PANEL MAY BE GETTING SHADE OR NOT PREFORMING.

MY WIFE AND I ARE VERY PLEASED WITH GULF SOUTH SOLAR FROM PRE CONTRACT TO TURN THE KEY COLLECTING THE SUNS BEST! OUR SON KEVIN WAS VERY MUCH INVOLVED BEING THAT WE WERE WORKING OUT OF STATE. JEFF AND HIS STAFF WERE PERFECT IN EVERY WAY. WE BOUGHT 15 PANELS AND A HOT WATER SOLAR SYSTEM. IT WAS HARD SELECTING A SOLAR COMPANY WITH ALL THE $ $ INVOLVED. RODNEY OUR NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR BOUGHT A SYSTEM FROM GULF SOUTH SOLAR, LLC AND WAS VERY PLEASED AND SO ARE WE.

I haven`t heard back from technician after recent support visit to my house to check on battery back-up performance.

Gulf South Solar was great! We really appreciated that they obtained our permits and interfaced with Entergy for our netmetering.

We are very glad that we had Gulf South install the pool solar panels. you need to market solar pool heaters more aggresively in the new orleans area, we had to search very hard to find anyone who could do the work for us and finally found gulf south solar by contacting global green for recommendations.

Net metering still not on due to long delays in getting one-line drawing and the electrical inspection. I was led to believe that installation would allow for use of the solar system as a backup when we lost grid power. After installation, I find that this is added cost. Also installation was to take two days in fact it took over three months before the job was inspected. My net metering is still in application because of long delays in the installation process. I cannot answer all of your questions. I do not know how unhappy I will ultimately be.

The folks at Gulf South Solar are the best. They are always available for support, even now 2 years later. They also hold workshops for those interested in solar that I continue to attend. A little disappointed in the cost reduction to my utility bill. Expected $100.00/month only getting $50.00. Don`t know why that is.
