waiting for contract when they walked away

after working with them for over a month and literally were supposed to sign a contract several weeks ago. they just decided to walk away because it seems that they really can't do what was said to us. this is after receiving a contract for signing that was mis quoted supposedly blaming AI which is how they said it was generated. also claimed that no status of when he would ok contract (basically a form one) because salesperson was on vacation, this came from their COO. now they say it's because its too far away to work with local town agency in order to get permits when all they had to do was provide documents for us to take to town hall and get process going. apparently their bosses only want the easy roof top jobs instead of what they said they could do for us.

Greenspark is top notch. All the staff is amazing and super helpful. Also if you’re on the fence about solar, do it. My array covers 90% of my usage and if it’s a mild winter, it’s easily 100%. With our EV rebate my electric bill is literally $5. So I went from ~$300/mo electric to $5 and my solar loan is $180. Seriously, get solar, and use Greenspark! I’m on year 3 and I’ll never look back.

GreenSpark Solar is a delightful company. I went with them because they weren't pushy! They educated me, and that made me feel confident in my ability to make a sound decision. They answered ALL of my questions in a very timely manner. They walked me through the process, handled all of the paperwork and told me about a great NYS loan program! I knew in advance of committing, accurate data and an engineering plan! (I left a contract with another company who had my deposit and wasn't giving me straight answers. It was worth loosing my money to go with GreenSpark!) The customer service is absolutely outstanding from my initial phone call right straight through the follow-up from my inspection. Everybody has been polite and fantastic! The crew that worked on my house was so professional and friendly. I have a large dog who loves people and they took the time to meet him so that he would stay calm while they were around. That meant the world, they cared about him enough to make our life easier. And - they finished the job a week before it was promised! If you want great customer service, a fantastic product and peace of mind when you are putting an expensive solar addition on your house or office... Call them! It is so worth it. You will have no regrets!

I contracted with GreenSpark Solar in November, 2024 to install a 32 panel solar system at our home. The system is a ground mount system located in our backyard. From beginning to end I found GreenSpark employees great to work with. From my initial contact with GreenSpark to get general information and a quote the process was an open discussion to get the system I wanted. Cody, the Residential Project Manager, kept me informed throughout the design process and was quick to respond to my questions. Installation started and was completed as scheduled in seven days. The installation crew of four were great. They worked from 7:00 am until sundown in freezing weather. They were personable, kept me informed throughout the process, and answered my many questions during the installation. I highly recommend GreenSpark Solar.

We really liked working with this company

We had a very positive experience with Sustainable Energy Developments when a crew installed a 14-panel solar array on our roof. The staff was friendly, accommodating, trustworthy and professional. Our salesperson was informative and not at all pushy. The project was delayed somewhat by our city's slowness to issue a building permit, but SED kept us informed and worked quickly when the permit came through. We are very pleased with the quality of the work done, the operation of the system and SED's attentiveness in answering our questions and responding to requests.

Great Companuy - needs to mature processes

They did well by us by the end of the project and we have an excellent system. SED cares a lot about installing a quality system. The company will get better as they improve their processes, notably scheduling of projects. Our system was two months later than initially estimated.

Everything from site planning to equipment selection, permit application, state and federal paperwork, financing options, array design, installation, use, monitoring needs to be done in an orderly, professional fashion in order to facilitate the actual process of making solar energy a part of your home's conservation plan. We installed a 7.1 KWh ground mounted Solar Array and went live on 5/1/2013. There are a lot of details! There are codes that have to be not only known about, but adhered to. Equipment needs to be procured. Local permits need to be acquired. Numerous site inspections are mandated by government agencies. Financing considerations need to be addressed. Even esthetics play a role in the decision making process. These people know how to do all this stuff. And make no mistake, this is some serious energy being produced. This array is not a big battery charger! We run the house on the thing! We needed someone who knew just exactly what they were doing and why so we could count on them to get it right the first time. The entire staff of Sustainable Energy Developments provided sound advice, excellent workmanship and an overall very pleasant experience during this project from start to finish. They have our strongest recommendation and we suggest they be included in your search for companies to do your next alternative energy project. And yes, they do wind power too! We may be looking at that next.
