EPCON Solar (OUT OF BUSINESS)

These people are hurting people and need to be stopped before they hurt more. Epcon is an absolute SCAM.

They have closed their doors. They were and have always been a scam. Karma is good!

The customer service of Epcon is the worst I have ever experienced. I have had 2 confirmed appts and their sales idiots never showed up. No call saying they were late, no apologies, etc. Recently got a call claiming new sales, new programs. But same old, same old. Their idiot did not show up and no call of saying late, etc. Complete drop case of a company. I wouldn't do business with them if it was free. Brad Benson in Tucson

I can honestly say getting a solar hot water system was the worst thing I have ever done, it NEVER gave us the energy savings it was supposed to and we have had ongoing problems with the system. Regular plumbers will not/cannot work on this system, so every service call is $80 from the only company that will service them. I was trying to do something good for the environment and well...no good deed goes unpunished. Getting a solar system from these guys is a terrible idea, again DONT DO IT

If you believe any of the positive reviews for Epcon, then you believe in UNICORNS. Epcon was a SunPower installer. Due to their incompetence and crooked business practices, SunPower pulled their contract. As a past client of Epcon, our new servicer for our SunPower system has to replace BOTH converters, take the entire system apart, inspect the roof and re-wire then entire system. Previous Epcon installations to past clients have proven to be installed incorrectly with roof issues, wiring issues and incorrect invertors. SO, please SOMEONE tell me what Epcon does well other than SUCK?

We had a solar rep come out to the house and we signed up for a lease back in March. We did a little research AFTER we signed the contract (stupid I know) and found some mixed reviews about them. I brought my concerns up with their General Manager,[name withheld], and he assured me that I would be happy from start to finish and to call him with any concerns I had. We gave them a shot and their delivery was on point with everything they promised. Job well done Epcon. Two thumbs up and our solar system is producing exactly what they promised.

I signed my contract with Epcon on 7/15/13; was told installation would be completed by Nov. Received site design mid Dec. & install done on 12/12/13. Since then have had problem after problem with Epcon following thru on their promises and with the solar install. Sun Power, the company that provides the solar panels, along with Ener Bank, have disassociated themselves from Epcon due to the many, many problems and complaints received about Epcon Solar. Sun Power hired an outside contractor to redo and repair the faulty installation done at my property. It has been an ongoing battle between me and Epcon to get them to abide by the promises made my and signed off on by their sales rep Judd Raymond. I have written letters to and reported Epcon Solar to the Arizona Better Business Bureau and the Atty. General for the State of Arizona.

This company has no regard for the no-call list. My policy when these types call is to schedule an appointment with them and then turn them away at the door with a reminder that the no-call list means no-call. Maybe they will get the message some day.

The job was left with over 40 broken tiles and took me 2 weeks to get the attention of the company to come out and fix. After fixing, I found more broken tiles not replaced. They owe us almost $700 for a 2 month APS bill reimbursement certificate. I was told the request was sent to accounting on January 28th and I should have the check in March. I also met with [name withheld] in February whom stated my check was in a stack of folders on his desk.

The installers were hard workers, they cleaned up after themselves, and were great . I liked them personally and professionally. They deserve some type of reward for their hard work. I will be referring my family and friends.

We are writing this letter to state what a pleasant experience it was having the Epcon Solar team doing the work on our solar panels. All of the men that have worked on our house, especially Devon, worked in the most inhospitable conditions blowing wind and cold temperatures yet he held his professionalism to the utmost at all times. The work was completed quickly and it looks great.

Just want to give this company kudos for a job well done. Did what they said they would and were very polite and professional. Definitely recommend them.

I never would deal with this co. again they have sold my contract even before the job was done to a company located in the Phillipines and told me to talk to them. Icontacted them and they want me to sign a contract amendment that I haven't read yet so I could not in all honesty cannot recommend this company to any one I think they are a bunch of shysters

They delivered what they promised, from our initial phone call to the post installation support we are very pleased with the quality of service and product we have been provided. Just received our 2nd months solar bill and couldn't be happier.

We had our consultation with EPCON solar a few months back. Although it is a lengthly process we are very satisfied with our experience thus far. Their team has been responsive to all of our questions and the installers were efficient and professional.

Pros: Got my solar panels installed. Got my duct sealant and KVAR. Cons: Lots of missed appointments, rescheduled appointments, took three months to get duct work sealed, didn't get kvar until the day they turned the system on. Lots of runaround when talking to the office staff. Still have not received my reimbursement for 2 energy bills. BIGGEST CON: My system is not producing as much electricity as it should (only one-third). They checked my system and said that it's the angle of the panels. Said they would fix it. This morning they passed me off to SunPower. Maybe I'm better off. Bottom line: BEWARE. SHENNANIGANS! Quick to sell - quick to smile - but it's a crap-shoot.

Review the complaints with Arizona Registrar of Contractors. The numbers of complaints are growing rapidly.

I had a great experience with Epcon. Friendliest sales person ever. Tony Z made my home efficient and in expensive.

My mother fell ill and she had to enter a assisted living facility. We spoke to Elijah the finance manager. We begged and pleaded with him to cancel the contract. It's been over 6 months and nothing has been installed on the roof. Elijah Chaffino told us that we would have to pay $2500 to cancel contract. That would cover the cost of the Aeroseal duct sealant installed in the home. We reluctantly agreed. 2 weeks later we received a letter from the Aeroseal contractor stating there was now a Lien on the home because Epcon Solar has refused to pay them for any of the jobs they installed. I have made a formal complaint to the Attorney Generals office. This company if absolutely the worst ever. No ethics, no morals, no conscience!

This company has missed 6 appointments on the install and never called. I am in the 6th month of waiting for the job to be completed. Electricians are never sent with the correct parts. They have called for final payment before the job was done! Drawings were incorrect for install on the roof.

I would like to say what year it was installed but since 2-27-2013 the work by EPCON SOLAR is still not completed, but I am paying SUNPOWER money for the panels. I cannot get people to call back when inquiring about the uncompleted work. I tried to use their email, it doesn't work. No centralized phone number, this is all a part of their unprofessionalism. If you attempt to to write a review on their website, it is a joke, you won't be able to, which leads me to believe the reviews which convinced me to use them were put out by the company. As of December 13th, 2013.....still waiting! OH and for a system that is to be working my electric bill is HIGHER! DONT USE THIS COMPANY FOR INSTALLATION!!!!!

I wanted to put in writing my commendation of the team of young men who installed our solar panels last week- Damien, Chad and John. As I mentioned to your staff on the phone I was impressed with them from the moment I opened the door to Damien to saying good-bye to them the following day. What a terrific crew! They represent your company in the best way. They arrived early, were respectful and considerate and are they hard workers! They make us comfortable in recommending Epcon Solar to our friends. Actually this whole experience has been great and I look forward to using our solar energy soon. Thank you for the good training you give your employees, it shows. God bless you in your work. There’s nothing like logging into my SRP account online and seeing a negative kWh usage. During the month of March and April, I saw a negative kWh usage on my smart meter. I’ll admit that I was a bit skeptical about solar technology for a single family home. I heard mixed reviews about it; but after seeing my meter running backwards and seeing my first full month electric bill, I knew I had made the right choice to go solar. The installation took a smooth 2 days to complete and the activation of the panels took less than a day. Any questions I had were quickly answered by the Epcon solar specialist assigned to my account. I’m constantly telling my family and friends about it and most don’t believe me when I mention the negative energy usage on my electric bill, but after I send them a screenshot of my account online they quickly ponder the idea of solar panels on their homes. Living in Arizona does have its advantages and if I can save money on my electric bill while running my A/C during the hot summer months; show me where to sign up! Thanks Epcon Solar

These guys have been great. First I got a great deal. They patiently worked with me as I compared prices from other vendors and educating me all through the way. The follow up process has been great. They take care of issues after installation and have been very responsive. Both the company owner and customer service called back to make sure all issues were resolved. i have recommended them to a few friends of mine and will continue to do so

I have been doing my research on solar for a few months now and decided to schedule a free consultation with Epcon Solar to see what they would recommend for our house. Our sales rep was very knowledgeable and patient with my wife and I (as I did have a lot of questions for him). He explained how the solar lease program worked and before I knew it we were getting our solar system installed for zero money out of our pocket. Their office did a good job in keeping us in the loop with the process of our system and they delivered what they promised. We just received our first months solar bill and we are paying less than we were paying our utility company. I am not one to normally post reviews but I was a skeptic coming into all of this and I couldn't be happier with the outcome so I hope this post helps other homeowners who are on the fence about solar. I highly recommend this company they will take the time to explain the whole program to you with no pressure.
