Great experience with Ecohouse Solar

Kevin from Ecohouse was very helpful in our decision to go solar (and helped put us in contact with local banks to secure financing that falls under the Eco-Link program). He explained what would happen during every step of the process, and was responsive with answering our questions along the way. The contractors and installers that Ecohouse used were attentive and we felt that they were treating the work they were doing on our home just as they would their own. Kevin and his team even worked hard to identify a defective part in the system when it went "live" for the first time, working late into the day and even on weekends to get everything done. We couldn't have been happier with our decision to use Ecohouse and have recommended them to many friends and acquaintances already. We are thrilled with our decision to go solar and hope that many others will as well!

Excellent experience

Kevin and his associates were very professional. They advised during the sales process that my site would have a very long payback period due to shade, but I was willing to go ahead. There was an accident during installation that resulted in a broken exterior water faucet while we were away, but Kevin handled it well, the water damage in the basement was minimal, and Ecohouse assumed all the expense. The new faucet is better than the old.

Solar Array Instalation

Ecohouse installed my 10.5 kW solar array. They did a great job. The result has a neat, professional appearance. The electrical inspector said that of several PV systems he has inspected, mine was the first that was done correctly. It passed the first time. Since then, the system has been working fine.

He oversaw and or completed himself each step of the process --arranging delivery of panels, installation, and electric work, setting the system up with Solar Edge Monitoring, and assisting me with all the arrangements that had to be made with the electric company (which was no easy feat!). You Are My Sunshine

I found Ecohouse by filling out an online request for a bid. Within 24 hours, Kevin contacted me and set up an appointment to come to the house. He was very patient with us as we considered all our options- two different roof locations or a ground-mounted system. We are the kind of people who need a lot of information to make a decision and Kevin provided us with lots of data about the site, government incentives, return on investment, and so forth. Once we made the decision to go forward with the 20 panel ground mounted system, the process was very smooth. Kevin took care of all the paperwork, including permits and inspections. We've worked with many contractors over the years and I can say that Ecohouse was the best! Good communication, quality workmanship in a timely manner. We are now enjoying watching our electric meter run backward and the kids love to check in with the website that monitors our production. I sing the praises of Ecohouse to all my friends.

After a site visit and cost analysis, we decided that his company, Ecohouse, would be the one to install our system. Solar system brings my house to net-zero energy perfection!

After only one site visit/meeting, Ecohouse was able to start the permitting process and have the solar arrayed installed in less than 30 days. This was very important in order to have the system operational before a strict cut-off date in order to take advantage of a governmental rebate program. All materials were on time, electricians were very efficient, and the site was left clean and tidy. Thanks Ecohouse!

Going solar with Ecohouse has paid off

Kevin Eigel, proprietor of Ecohouse, suggested our house become more energy efficient incrementally. He completed an energy audit and told about an energy audit process through Columbus Gas. We could tell he was giving us good advice from the start. Our natural gas bills have gone way down by doubling the insulation in our attic and blowing insulation in our walls. Going solar is a big decision and Kevin never pressured us. He provided some good advice about financing options. We considered a solar lease but decided it was best to finance through a home equity loan. Ecohouse did a great job installing. There were no major problems. The minor stuff gotten taken care of in a timely manner. Our electric bill savings are more than paying back the loan. Going solar is great for the environment and for the pocketbook. I encourage people to have a solar analysis. It's free so nothing to lose. I made excuses for years and didn't realize how doable it is. Ecohouse and Kevin is a small independent locally owned business that is a responsible entity in our community. You won't regret going solar. Our electric bill was $6 for July and August 2013 last summer. Our most previous one was $17 (for March 2014). We live in central Ohio.
