Curtis of Solarado to the rescue

Our ground mount solar panel array was accidentally placed too close to our property line boundaries when our house was being built. I e-mailed Solarado Energy and explained to them my problem. Curtis answered my e-mail by calling me and said he could move the solar array. He came and explained to us step by step how he would move the array. Curtis is very knowledgeable, dependable and trustworthy. He came as often as he could as he had a full priority list at the time. I highly recommend Solarado Energy to accomplish your solar needs. Thank you Curtis.

Solarado Energy Does Great Work Again!

Solarado Energy came back for charge controller upgrades and did an excellent job as before. They have been here 4 times doing work (2 installs, 1 battery change, and 1 upgrade) since 2011 and always do an outstanding job.

residential upgrade

Professional, reliable Curtis spent a good deal of time educating and training us on the system. Highly recommended

Knowledgeable and professional installer

Curtis with Eco Depot (also known as Solarado Energy) is very knowledgeable about Solar and has lots of experience. He installed a 16 panel system (4.5 kWp) at the end of 2015. It was been producing energy flawlessly since it was commissioned. I chose to work with Curtis after reviewing 3 other bids, and am pleased with the choice. He helped us size the system and keep the installation as reasonable and cost-effective as possible. I recommend him and would use him again for any expansion.

Solorado (Eco Depot USA) PV Solar System

Curtis was great to work with during the planning and installation of our 7 kw ground mount solar system. We talked with three other solar contractors and chose to go with Curtis because he listened to our wants and proposed a quality system at a very competitive price. Some of the other contractors were not interested in doing pole mounts located 200 feet from our home. They only wanted to do roof mounts. Another factor was that we wanted a whole house 20 KW generator integrated into the solar system. Curtis was the only contractor that was willing to include the generator. The others wanted us to buy the generator and find someone else to install it. Another impressive thing about Curtis was that he did everything himself along with assisitance from a helper. He dug out and set the forms for the generator pad, poured the pad and finished the concrete. He cleared the path from the house to the site, rented the back hoe and dug the trench to the site, dug the holes for the poles and assembled the entire solar arrays himself. And he wired the whole system. He did not have to hire others. Curtis not only knows the renewable energy business, he is very skilled and resourceful in all building techniques.

great advise and work

Curtis understood what we were looking for (better than myself) and delivered a great system for our seasonal cabin. Not only solar, but added a cistern, pump and shed to create a great system for our small cabin.

Curtis did a great job of explaining things and got the job done tight and right and on schedule. Very easy to work with.

Excellent Install

First- rate work by an experienced installer who knows his business. 6kw grid-tied system installed mid-winter with snow in 5 working days. Top notch panels and inverter. ¾" conduit throughout. Passed inspection 1st try. Working fine. Competitive price.

Gladly Recommend Eco Depot USA 11-18-14

We will gladly recommend Curtis to anyone seeking ground up, repair or total reconstruction of solar systems. Ours was a total reconstruction and Curtis was able to define which components could remain and which had to be replaced/upgraded. He did this in 3 separate bids, which made tracking each set of components easy and understandable. Our totally off grid home (built by do-it-yourselfer) took time to accomplish, but the results that we are now enjoying were well worth the wait. Curtis is very knowledgable and took the time to explain how our systems works once he was done. We will definitely contact Curtis again for any additional work we might need in the future. Solid, Very Experienced Installer of Quality Systems

After contacting several local solar installers, we selected Curtis at Eco Depot, mostly due to his reasonable bid and that he would do the thermal we wanted. Every component of the installed systems is top-notch, as is the quality of installation. For our installation, we were most concerned about the thermal system, mostly due to the complexity and difficulty of installation. Curtis's knowledge of thermal solar systems put us at ease, and even more so during actual installation. While other installers we talked with contract out their thermal systems to mostly local plumbers, Curtis designed and installed this part himself (along with the PV side). It now works flawlessly. Curtis is easy to work with and will spend the time during and after installation to ensure the customer can manage and monitor the operation of the systems. His philosophy is to maintain a small company with only a couple of employees. This approach takes longer to install systems, but facilitates more customized systems tailored to individual customer needs and I think a more personal relationship between the installer and customer. He also managed to hit his estimates to the penny, even with unforeseen difficulties during the installation process. We asked for several extras during the project, which he accommodated for us at very reasonable cost. I can highly recommend Curtis at Eco Depot (now Solarado Energy) to others wanting to install solar systems in the vicinity. He clearly puts customers first.

Shawn Samuelson PV solar

Curtis with Eco Depot came out after 5 years to do a free system check on our 20kw system. He had discovered he needed to replaced some older zip ties that they no longer use and replaced them with there new coated wire hangers no-charge. We have been thankful for all his services and happy with the system>

Been green before it was cool

We've been off grid since 2000, we recently had quite a few problems with our system and decided to upgrade from a 24v to a 48v system. Curtis explained everything to us very clearly. Got our new system installed and everything is up and running well.

CURTIS STRIKES AGAIN

I had problems with my solar powered home in Crestone. Didn't quite know what the problems were until I had to replace the batteries which I purchased from Ecodepot and Curtis. Curtis took the time, patience and helped me understand my system and how to best utilize it. He also cleaned up several mistakes and not right situations from previous companies. System is running much better and expecting to enjoy my system for a long time to come.

off-grid

Off grid systems can be challenging. Curtis with eco depot has the knowledge and commitment to get the job done and I am writing this review to give him a high recommendation for future customers who want to go solar.

Photovoltaic system

EcoDepot USA installed our solar photovoltaic system back in the summer of 2010. My wife and I are completely satisfied with the system, the installation, and the service we have received. Shortly after the system was installed, it was discovered that the inverter-maker had recommended invertors that were too small for our system (because of the superior conditions here for solar). To their credit, they sent upsized invertors that were installed promptly by EcoDepot at no charge to us. Then there was a minor factory wiring defect that led to the failure of one of the panels. One call to EcoDepot was all it took to get the problem solved. Curtis has been very good at keeping our system running at full capacity, even though we are nearly 100 miles away from their location. I can not say enough about how well our system has performed. For example, even though our system has a rating of 6.3 kW, our peak output has been 8.4 kW. We have not paid a single electric bill (other than the meter charge) since the system was turned on, and have built up a credit of nearly 8000kWh waiting to be used. We are completely satisfied with EcoDepot USA, Schott Solar,(the panel maker), and Fronius,(the invertor maker). The installation of the solar electric system is one of the best investments we have made. We recommend EcoDepot USA without reservation!

21 panel solar with battery back up

Eco Depot USA was contracted to install a 21-panel Ground mounted Solar installation scalable to a larger output for future use. The project was started in October after numerous approvals (allow time in your schedule) and permits were obtained. The approval process took approximately one month. The project is Grid tied allowing for automatic switchover during a potential grid outage. The project was completed within 90 days, typical for a ground mounted solar collector. Eco Depot has many years experience in this kind of installation having done numerous residential installations in Colorado and large commercial arrays as well, notably, for the University of Colorado and others. These folks are very experienced, easy to work with and reliable.

The company owners are obviously expert in every aspect of the alternative/solar energy industry. In our experience, it is very rare and satisfying to find a REAL expert to work with. The things that set EcoDepot apart and make me comfortable with them are: 1) They have a certified electrician on staff- 2) The owner has (or has had) other successful businesses (many solar "professionals" that i`ve met are installing PV simply because they can`t do anything else)- 3) when i call or e-mail them someone calls back right away every time (some companies won`t call back during the sales process - imagine how unresponsive they are to service calls)- 4) I had to study some, but I was able to ask a question of Mr. Scheib that he couldn`t answer. He said he didn`t know (Yes!) and quickly got back to me with the correct answer (Hurray!!!)- 5) They do small to medium sized commercial installations as well as residential (since they can do the big jobs, my 4KW project was no challenge). My house and 20`x30` greenhouse is of conventional construction, but will be 100% solar (solar heat and solar electricity) after completion of the hot water heating improvement that Mr Scheib is working on. Our heating system has become quite complex, and given my experience with other solar guys, I would trust no one other than EcoDepot with it.

i first contacted a solar co. in golden, co. i think the largest in the state at that time. they asked me to send them some data and they would send me some estimates. i contacted eco-depot, curtis schieb, for another bid. i didn`t send the first company any info--didn`t like the impersonal nature of their response. curtis made an appt. w/ me, came up and spent about 2 hours looking at what i had and talked to me about what i wanted to achieve. he went back and worked a proposal. we had to tweak it a couple of times. he also put in a solar thermal system for me. he came up and worked on it and got it installed as scheduled. xcel, my ultility co., gave us several hoops to jump thru that curtis had not encounted before, so the process getting my net meter in place took a little longer than expected. the system is up and running and is providing me w/ up to 45.5 kwh/day. that`s the most it has produced that i have seen in one 24 hr period.
