We had CMI install our solar system several years ago and were very happy with the work and the system. Earlier this year we asked them to help us with a generator hookup. We had no problems until several weeks ago. We contacted CMI and they were able to correct the problem. We definately appreciate the overall quality of their install and their willingness to stand by their work to resolve any issues.

Made a good choice with this company. Felt very comfortable and trusting from the first phone call and meeting. Explained everything so we could understand. Did all the paper work for us when they could. Even after we were up and running helped with a problem on Delmarva's end. Truely a wonderful bunch of peope.

A friendly and fair in the price for installation of our ground base panel array. Took care of the approval process with the local electric company and all permits. Worker were helpful and the work area was left better then they started.

I cannot say enough good about this company. These people really care about what they are doing. They are respectful of your property, and your time. I do have a couple of issues with getting the batteries to perform as promised, but they are right there working on it. I am very pleased with everything.

Our original inataller went out of business leaving our system and many other customers in a mess. CMI took over service for our system over six years ago. They have been wonderful to work with and have solved many problem for us. If you are considering Solar, please choose an honest, reliable company like CMI.

CMI provided excellent service throughout the entire solar experience, from the initial assessment to on-going service well beyond system installation. They are true partners with their customers, and are always there with excellent professional and friendly advice. When I thought I had a problem, all it took was a call, and they responded rapidly. They quickly identified the problem, and even through it was not an issue with the work that they did, they provided me with the appropriate recommendations to correct the issue. They are a great organization, they provide excellent service, and I rate them highly.

CMI is a family run small business located in Newark, Delaware that openly displays its pride of ownership. The sales process was very comprehensive. CMI sent a tech to my residence to map out a design and produce an electrical production estimate. All questions were answered by an experienced electrician without delay and to my satisfaction. I had read many reviews and needed assurance that sloppy practices like exposed conduit and low end parts were notin my future. Pricing was very competitive, top of the line panels and inverter led to an excellent warranty which eliminated the need for costly extended warranties. Project manager Lauren is part of the family and provided great communication and follow thru. I added some additional out of scope work which they included with a smile. Lauren led me through the substantial paperwork required by Delmarva Power. All of which was accepted without error. Installation team was on time, neat, and installed my soul system in 2 days with not a single issue. Electrical inspector knew the lead electrian and promptly gave me a very positive review of his work. He noted not all work he reviewed at other sites compared. Project closedown: Owner of the company came to the home and instructed us on the system and left us with a binder filled with all necessary documentation. I was presently surprised that all I needed to remember was the on/off switch. He outlined why there was no need for ongoing maintenance and associated expense. He surprised us with a gift of specially made CMI coffee cups and baseball hats. Lauren stays in contact with us with continued help filing SREC documents and finalizing the Delmarva rebate check process. All in all, I could not be more pleased that I could do business with a local company that did excellent work. They have my highest recommendation.

CMI thoroughly explained the solar system operation, solar panel and inverter choices, the cost, the payment and installation schedule, power company billing and SREC sales. We had over 50 questions at our first meeting, and Mr. Davis answered all except one about SREC sales, which was answered the next day by a call from their SREC expert. Despite record breaking cold and some snow the installation was completed on time. When finished, an employee walked the site and picked up all the little pieces of wire that are always present during electrical installations, not to mention any other trash that was not caught up in the daily cleanups. I wouldn't have done that if I was doing the installation. They also did all the paperwork for our SREC sale at the power company SREC auction. This was for the state of Delaware, we cannot speak for other states. All this at a competitive price. The employees are friendly, competent and quiet. When we had a problem with the system reporting to our monitoring site, CMI returned several times until it was correct. This was not a problem recording or reporting our production to the power company, so we did not lose any production, it was just to the site that the owner uses to view system operation. They also have 24 hour emergency service. I have strongly recommended CMI to all who have asked about our system and have no qualms about recommending them to anyone who is looking for a solar installer. We also contracted with CMI for a whole house generator installation and a dedicated line for an electric clothes dryer and once again received outstanding service.

CMI installed our rooftop PV system in 2007. They were very professional and did an excellent job in explaining estimate, doing the job right. Have not had any problems in 9 years except for an inverter that failed after 5 years and was replaced by them under warrantee for free. System output was exactly as they calculated.

We found CMI Electric to be a very reputable, knowledgeable, and friendly group to deal with. Delays due to state grant approval backlog were inconvenient, but no fault of CMI`s. The recent addition and rearrangement off so key central staff seems to address the slight communication lags were had during our installation. They seem to run a tight little ship. The investment up front could be a huge deterrent for others considering the move to solar. However, after reviewing the state, federal, and longterm financial benefits the choice was very sound.

CMI did an awesome job. I refer them to everyone who asks about our install. Strangers approach me at work asking about our solar install and I give them CMI`s web address. The only thing I wasn`t really happy with was the fact the the panels shut down when the grid goes down. While CMI offered to sell me a back up generator to run and keep the panels alive they offered no solution for me to use with my back up generator.

I am trying to be very critical in this survey, but their up front, honest, and informative sales process won me over when comparing them to a competitor. They also do great Solar REC sales for free on behalf of their customers. It was a wonderful experience working with them. My only frustration was that I started the process in mid summer and it took 5 months to complete it. This was, however, mostly due to paperwork processing on the side of the State government taking longer than anyone expected. Still, I dinged them for this. Otherwise once they had the government and utility permits in place, everything went expeditiously and efficiently. We chose this contractor because they were willing to send us a intermittent paycheck for the SREC`s we generated. The other contractor offered a smaller system at a higher price, but was able to knock the price down dramatically by offering Net pricing, but they also offered to collect all the SREC money and keep it for themselves and pay us a lump sum up front. Unfortunately this large lump sum up front was worth less than 1/3 of what we projected the SREC to probably be worth over a 10 year period. Since we had the funds we chose the project with the higher up front costs, but the shorter full payback of system costs period.

One of the best experiencs that I have ever had with a contracter!!

I had CMI come out in April to give me an estimate. When I was ready to go ahead with the installation in August I was still able to get the same price even when the estimate said it was only for 90 days it was still good. I have been looking into this for years.

CMI, very professional, owner was available and his office to answer all my questions. Only problem was the state of de and the green fund. Lawmakers changed rules and are making more difficult for everyone to take advantage of Why do our legislators promote green in one hand, and take away in the other My decision was two fold - my energy costs continued to rise,trust in my legislators declined. And wanted to be able to contribute to helping cut our overseas dependance.

Extremely satisfied with CMI Electric; their crews were very professional, did a thorough cleanup at end of each day, exceeded all of our expectations. We are very willing to be used as a reference and to consult with their possible future clients to further promote solar energy usage.

The proposal package was excellent. A follow-up call with the installer was very informative and provided the depth of information I was looking for. The crew and supervision were skillful and quality oriented. Their drive to make the installation as attractive as possible exceeded my expectations. Their work was neat and cleaned up daily. The finished installation rates on par with the best I`ve seen anywhere. The only visible parts of the system outside the house are the solar panels and the AC disconnect by the Delmarva Power meter. The crew was friendly and easy to deal with. It felt as though a group of my friends showed up at the house for the project. I highly recommend this installer because of their skills and experience in optimizing the system as well as the overall quality of the installation. I looked at this project as a long term investment yielding a reasonable, low risk return as well as helping the environment. It`s part of my contribution to keep the glaciers from melting.

Dale Davis & CMI were one of the highlights in building this house. Excellent work, communication, service, etc. It was refreshing to actually be able to leave a Trade Contractor alone and know he was doing his job correctly. Would highly recommend.

A wireless transmitter was promised with the system. The transmitter was discontinued and neither a replacement or refund was issued.

this work crew was amazing in their efficiency and proficiency! the 2-year, 50% rebate by Delmarva Power/Delaware was most important. I`ve been a fan of solar power for 35+ years.

CMI does not use sub contractors this was very important for me.

Excellent company to work with. One component failed and it was replaced within 24 hours. Has taken a lead role in helping all customers sell their Renewable Energy Credits and has done so without taking any type of commission! They are there for you and the environment!!!

CMI did a great job and the system is working fine. I intend to expand the system to make us energy independant and if CMI gives me a good bid on the project I will use them again.

Wonderful company to work with. When we had problems on our end, they were patient and willing to work with us. I would recommend their company in a heart beat. We look forward to expanding our system as funds become available. As an environmental agency, we need to practice what we preach. CMI helped us to do just that.

CMI was very competent and detail oriented. I am a PV researcher and have written a comprehensive handbook on PV but even so, I was impressed by their communication and installation. My wife, a complete novice, also felt that Dale addressed her questions and concerns very effectively.
