Perfect solar experience

I highly recommend Celestial Solar Innovations. After soliciting five proposals (from national players and local businesses), I decided to go with Jim and CSI for my home in Bethesda because of their detailed product knowledge, willingness to answer questions and patience to iterate on a few layouts. After signing the contract, the team took care of everything behind the scenes with permits and Pepco. At install I was extremely happy with the process and final product. The crew is very experienced and takes pride in their work. I noticed special care to get the details right, such as hiding conduits and junction boxes. After observing the system running for nearly three months with the app, the performance is spot on to the simulated projections that Jim provided. The team also helped me set up an SREC account. In all, super satisfied with residential solar generation, having no more utility bills, and the working relationship with Celestial Solar Innovations.

Highly Recommend

Celestial Solar did a phenomenal job installing solar panels on my home. Jim spent time significant time walking me through the panel options and pros and cons of each option. Once I signed the contact, the time to installation was incredibly quick - they were installed and operational a month before I expected. The installation crew was professional and friendly. Finally, the company handled all of the paperwork for me to get my credits etc. The entire experience was seamless. I have only positive things to say about Celestial Solar and would recommend them without hesitation.

Cool!

We talked to about a half dozen solar companies before taking the plunge to have solar installed for our home. We went with Celestial, because they offered the best combination of knowledge/experience and return on our investment. It was a little confusing, because the estimates for how much we could produce varied widely and we have a wooded lot with an open yard and southern exposure, so it was hard to know who was correct. In the end, Celestial's offer seemed best and about four months in, we are producing solar at a rate that is on target for the estimates we received (even considering that we have not been through the leaner winter months with less daylight). So far, we are very happy with this decision. We refinanced our home to do several major projects and solar is the one that i already paying us back!

Great Solar Install

Checked around and did my homework and Celestrial won hands down. the only lower bid was for a lesser system and the salesman made me uncomfortable from the start. My system is working great with no problems and so far I have not paid 1 penny for electric. I especially liked the no pressure sale and willingness to answer any and all questions. Enjoyed chatting with the installation crew who were all courteous and knowledgeable. A truly good company and as far as I am concerned look no further for your solar needs.

Great Experience - Knowledgeable, Patient and Price Competitive

Jim and his team at Celestial Solar are great. We know we wanted to do solar for environmental and financial returns but we did not know anything about the technology, options, etc. Jim did a great job walking us through the process, educating us and answering all my questions as I ran and questioned the numbers. I intended to sole source to Celestial but got a bid from an online marketplace just to make sure the price I was getting was competitive. Jim patiently walked me through his quote, the differences, etc. Bottom line, his price was very competitive and there were no corners cut on older models of panels/inverters to artificially keep the price down. The install was seamless, the team took great care to make sure the install was ascetically nice as possible. I would recommend Jim and his team at Celestial Solar to anyone...don't waste your time on the marketplaces.

GOOD & RELIABLE

My wife and I have had a running joke for years that there are two kinds of contractors. Good OR reliable. It's just hard to find one that is both. Celestial Solar Innovations is the exception! Jim and his team kept us informed every step of the way. We never had to wonder where we were in the process. The work was completed ahead of schedule and was completely effortless on our part. That usually doesn't happen. The quality of their work was exemplary. Mid-way through the project, we noticed that the drywall near the breaker panel had been chipped. Before we could even say anything, the drywall was repaired. We'd work with these guys again in a heartbeat!

Having Celestial Solar install panels on our home has been the best home decision we have ever made. We were incredibly impressed with the passion Jim and his team have for their product and how much pride they take in doing a perfect job from start to finish. Not only are we no longer paying the utility company for electricity and helping to reduce carbon emissions but it actually looks great! We've had many neighbors complement our system and start looking into installing panels themselves. We've had no hesitation in referring them to Celestial Solar!

My experience with Celestial Solar Innovations was wonderful

I wholeheartedly recommend Celestial Solar to anyone considering going solar. From the initial inquiry to the establishment of my SRECTrade account, Jim and his team were professional, informative, attentive to detail, and oriented towards my specific situation. They do it right. Here is some of the detail of my experience: Jim immediately differentiated Celestial Solar from the three other companies under consideration with his focus on my questions and concerns, a realistic assessment of the roof’s solar potential, and the tradeoffs regarding the number, location and quality of panels. He provided his recommendations, but made it clear that the decision was mine. Because we had to replace our roof prior to proceeding, Jim put me in touch with PJ Roofing with whom Celestial Solar frequently works. PJ Roofing not only installed the roof, it used the solar plan to relocate the attic fan, exhaust fans and plumbing stacks on the south-facing roof so the 21 panels could be optimally installed in one large block across the roof. Importantly, PJ Roofing and Celestial Solar had the lowest combined cost out of the 4 quotes. The crew installed the panels flawlessly in a day and a half. They clearly knew exactly what to do, and based on the light-hearted chatter, clearly enjoyed what they were doing. They minimized the amount of exposed conduit on the outside wall and roof – a concern of my spouse - by running it through the attic. As a testament to the quality of the installation I personally checked every roof rafter in the attic to see if any lag screws had “missed”. None had. I was particularly impressed with Travis, who did the detailed measuring of our roof and its solar potential and who waited for the County Inspector to arrive to approve the installation. While waiting Travis patiently answered my endless questions and explained the Enphase Energy System and Micro inverters to increase my comfort level. When one micro inverter seemed to have a spotty connection, he immediately climbed on the roof to resolve it and then verified the performance and serial number of the other 20. Even after I flipped the switch (literally) to turn on the system, Jim and Becky made sure I was familiar with the Enphase App, had the appropriate information for the Federal Tax Credit, Maryland’s Residential Solar Rebate Grant, and REC Certification. They also established SRECTrade account and explained how it worked. I have provided this much detail to convey the specifics of my experience was so positive. When you choose to use Celestial Solar you will not be disappointed. Jim, Becky, Travis and the Celestial Solar Crew, Thank you.

Best decision you can make environmentally and financially

I have nothing but great things to say about Celestial Solar. I started the process of considering solar energy in 2019, and contacted Celestial, but I decided that I was not financially ready. Jim Reilly was very patient, not the least bit pushy. I waited until 2020, and everything went smoothly. Jim designed for me the perfect system, with most of the panels on the south facing roof. Not too many panels in total, just enough to generate a little more than my usual yearly amount. The installation group was a joy to work with. You can tell when people are happy working for a company, when they are happy on the job. They were friendly and talkative, and always asking me if everything looked OK. Jim and his company take care of all of the details concerning finances after the panels are installed. He provided me the documents for obtaining the renewable energy grant from the state of Maryland, and informed me about solar and renewable energy credits (SRECs). They also provide a website that tabulates your energy usage, so that you can see how well your system is working. I can’t say enough good things about my decision to work with Celestial, and obtain an efficient and financially smart solar energy system. No more coal burned for this house!

I considered several companies for solar installation and Celestial Solar had both the best prices per kilowatt and excellent customer service. The installation was totally seamless and they were very responsive throughout the process. I highly recommend them.

Great Company

We looked into various solar panel installers before choosing Celestial Solar. We have had the installation up and running now for about six months and are very pleased with the performance. Celestial Solar is a family-owned business which is both very professional and very hands-on. They took care of all the paperwork to set us up to get the various credits and related online services. The owner, Jim Reilly, has been very responsive when I have sent email questions and helped me understand how the utility bill dovetails with the info that comes from the system monitoring application. Our system was installed during the pandemic and all the installers wore masks and were respectful of social distancing from us. We were particularly impressed with the care they took in designing our system so that it delivers as promised. We would recommend Celestial Solar with complete confidence.

Great choice!

Chose Celestial over 3 other quotes. They weren't the cheapest, but I decided on them because of Jim's technical knowledge and felt like he'd be easiest to work with. This turned out to be a good decision since there were some unexpected hurdles on permitting and construction issues around our electrical box that Jim took care for us pretty seamlessly. We've had the system up and running for about a month now. The installation and workmanship look great.. I'm also really happy with how Celestial set up monitoring through the Enlighten platform and also provided guidance on tax rebates, SRECs, etc.

Very professional

We sought out many companies servicing our are for installation of our solar panels. Celestial Solar wasn’t the cheapest but the reviews swayed me to favor them over many larger and established companies. My gut instinct was correct. Jim Riley was very attentive to our needs. The installation plan was optimal for energy production. The installation went smoothly and passed the BGE inspection without any hiccup. Now all we got to do is to enjoy solar energy. By the way, we are eagerly awaiting Maryland state grant and the Federal tax rebate as a bonus. I would always recommend Celestial Solar without any hesitation.

Over several site visits, Jim and his experts came up with thoughtful and innovative ideas that met our solar goals while minimizing the cost and disruption during installation. I considered a solar system as an investment that requires a substantial upfront cost. After careful research on solar energy, vendors and evaluation of various proposals, I made the decision to proceed with Celestial Solar Innovations. The system went live in July 2020 and I am happy with the results, paying $0 for electricity, so far. After extensive reading of online reviews, I talked to 5 different companies and requested proposals from them. I decided on Celestial Solar Innovations as Jim did a great job in explaining the proposed options in detail. He communicated regularly, making sure that I had all the answers I needed. The company has high quality components at competitive prices. Also, I felt that as the owner of the company, Jim would be more responsive to problems that I may have during and after the installation, as opposed to some salespeople at other companies. A common complaint from solar system users is that many installers overpromise the performance of the system. Jim understood my concern, so he included a guarantee that the system will produce a minimum amount of Kwhs annually in the contract. The company handled all the paperwork on HOA, County permit, MD grant, SREC trade, etc., properly and promptly. The installation went smoothly. Afterwards, a company employee was present during the county inspection and later for the net meter installation by BGE. Based on my good experience, I highly recommend Celestial Solar Innovations to potential solar system customers.

We highly recommend Celestial Solar for anyone considering getting Solar. It has been a great experience working with Celestial Solar Innovations. Jim and his entire team were very delightful to work with. After contacting several companies by phone and email, Jim was the most knowledgeable and able to provide answers to all my questions. We quickly received an estimate and the estimate was really competitive. Jim did not pressure me to go through with the sale. The installation crew did an amazing job. Jim handled all the permitting and communication with PEPCO. Installation was done as scheduled. We only had a system turned on for a short time, but the system production has been excellent. We have not had any issues. I am very happy I selected Celestial Solar Innovations for my Solar installation. We HIGHLY recommend Celestial Solar Innovations to all my friends and family.

Seamless experience, quality work, incredible results

I chose Celestial Solar Innovations after talking to at least 5 different companies. I was immediately drawn to this company just based off of the reviews as scrolling through clearly shows a lot of happy customers. After talking to Jim, it was clear he backed up what he was saying. I had countless phone calls/emails with him and he was always incredibly patient. I appreciated the fact I directly talked to the owner of the company and not just a salesman having to hear all of their pitches. Throughout the whole process, Jim was always and readily available. Communication was never an issue, even during the 7-8 week long delayed process to get permits thanks to COVID. Jim and his company stayed on top and things and updated me along the way. Install was done in 2 days and went off without a hitch. Passed inspections without issue and now I am up and running without any issues whatsoever!
