CB Solar

CB Solar was great to work with: knowledgeable, adaptable to our budget and site needs, and excellent, open communication throughout the whole process.

When I wanted to get a solar system at my place, I researched a lot of companies and ended up choosing CB Solar, and I was happy with their service. Having an old farmstead, I had a lot of options on where I could install the panels, and they worked with me to understand the pros and cons of each. I worked with Cory from their sales group and he was very good, not pressuring but just helping explain the alternatives. At one point during the design, they caught a mistake they had made in calculations that would have put undue stress on the inverters, and they upsized the system to correct this without any price increase. I would rather that mistakes not be made, but I understand that they happen. What I really appreciated was that they admitted and took responsibility for the mistake (they could have just installed the system as designed and I would never have known until it failed early) and they fixed it without trying to charge me more. That kind of honesty and integrity is worth a lot to me and that's why this is a 5-star review and not a 4 star. In the end, I choose a ground-mount system that was further from the road and required a lot of trenching. I liked that they handled all the work with the sub-contractors and I didn't have to worry about anything. The electrical subcontractor was very flexible to work in some trenching changes that I requested. Since installation, the system has performed as expected with no issues and I usually forget it's there, which is the highest praise for a solar system. I'm coming up on 1 year now, and I think it will have fully offset my electric bill for the whole year, which was the target. The only other issue was that one of the legs of the 240VAC wasn't wired in the breaker panel for one of the strings of inverters. I don't know if this was a mistake by CB or by the electrical sub, but it was fixed without much problem. Overall, I am very happy with the work done. There are some shady solar companies out there, but CB isn't one of them. I was talking with the electrical sub, and he said that CB was one of only two companies that he'll work with in the Des Moines area. That matches my experience.

We purchased solar panels with CB Solar in 2024. I am very pleased with the product and the customer service we have received for all the questions we have had. CB Solar provided help with spreadsheets and with our local electric service when needed. I have and will continue to refer people to CB Solar. They are easy to work with and very knowledgeable.

I highly recommend CB Solar. A representative came out and gave a complete evaluation of what was needed for our property and patiently answered every question. Each step was clearly defined with a reasonable timeline for the events to come. Everyone involved in our project was courteous and knowledgeable, working together as a team to get the job done. If you want a great local company to help in your contribution for a greener environment…call CB Solar, Inc.

CB Solar = Excellent Company

CB Solar looked at our location and assessed our electrical usage, then gave us information on what would work for our house. They did all the legwork necessary to comply with our local REC requirements. That gave us peace of mind to know it was all handled by their knowledgeable engineers. Once they installed our solar panels, we had immediate results on our very next electric bill. We are very happy with CB Solar's expertise and their continued interest to be sure our array is working for us. And we are glad to be using a renewable energy source to help power our house. Just wish we had a bigger roof so we could have had a few more panels!

solar

I was the first one to get solar in my electric coop area and we had to go thru a adjustment process between all of the engineers involved. Everything has turned out fine and we are happy with the system. CB solar is a good company to work with and have been very patient and helpful with all of my questions. I would recommend them!

Great company! Fast Installation! Awesome results!

We had CB Solar install solar panels on our business. They were very easy and professional to work with throughout the entire process. They completed all the necessary paperwork for our business to be eligible for tax credits. They also did a great job estimating our energy usage and we have yet to have an energy bill since our panels were installed. It is great to save money every month and the panels are maintenance free!

Tenco Foundation, Inc.

Tenco is a non-profit serving people with disabilities in southern Iowa. We selected CB Solar from 4 Iowa providers, and they have proved to be outstanding to work with in every respect! CB Solar estimated the size of the solar system required to serve our 4-Bay (11,264 sq. ft.) Hydroponic Greenhouse in Wapello County and proceeded to flawlessly install the system which now serves us, and is supplying 100% of our energy needs. Throughout this process we found their communication to be outstanding; they also assisted with all the paper work and forms required by Alliant. Tenco could not have had a better partner in this effort.

Excellent installer

We are extremely pleased with our solar installation. CB Solar kept us apprised of everything and were efficient in their installation. They were great to work with and we highly recommend them.

New Construction House Roof Array

We worked with CB Solar on installing a solar array on our new construction house and the whole process was great: they worked with the builder and were able to seamlessly integrate everything while the house was going up with no visible conduit or wiring. It's been almost 3 years since then and the panels still cranking out more electricity than we use.

Great Company to work with!

When we started to look at solar for an option, I called a few companies to get quotes. When I found CB Solar, I was impressed with their outstanding customer service. Many other companies gave us estimates over the phone but they came out to our house spent the time to help us understand the options and walked us through the entire process. Their estimates were very similar to the other companies, but with a personal touch. The process for installation was smooth, quick, and well coordinated. They took care of all the incentives and documentation and since we have turned it on have followed up to make sure we were happy with everything. They have excellent customer support when I have called with questions about the system. For all these reasons, I would highly recommend CB Solar to anyone thinking about going solar.
