I think solar is great. It is finally up and running great. My problem is with this company and their lack of follow through on commitments and flat out lies. If you don't mind that then I would definetly reccomend using Superior Solar. If you want the straight story and no lies, than use someone else. I will never reccomend Superior Solar to anyone ever again.

What took me so long?

Worked with Jose at Superior Solar. The entire experience was easy and well explained. Came home from vacation to a heated pool and we've been in it every day since! We should have done it sooner-- now we are really enjoying our investment!

Fantastic Company All Around

Great company to deal with in every way. Not pushy on sales, gave me tons of info, and really knew their stuff. I would easily go back to them for any thing else. Their install turned out better looking than I could ever imagine too.

Super Solar

My electric bill has gone from $190.00 a month to $2.00 a month. I'm sure that if I lived anywhere but Lakeland my bill would be even better, but the electric company here charges me a premium rate because I have solar. Non-the less I am very satisfied with the outcome.

Superior Service

We compared solar companies and their product, and Heliocol solar panels had the best reputation for endurance. We've lived in our house for 16 years and our neighbors have Superior Solar Panels and they've never had any problems with them, where we had multiple problems with our former system, which was very old, but also was not Heliocol solar, so it was a no-brainer. Their service was excellent and they did the work within a very short time and we didn't have to be at home while it was done, which was better for my husband and I. I would highly recommend David Spanier at Superior Solar Systems.

Great system

We love the solar system! Ha one rhe temperature warm up to being comfortable during spring break was awesome. We have swam in the pool almost everyday during the summer and look forward to many days into the fall. We are very pleased with the system and service we have received from superior solar.

Very Happy with Superior Solar and our Energy Savings

Superior Solar did a great job with both our solar water heater (years ago) and more recently with our solar electric panels. And, our latest electric bill for our 4,000 square foot home was only $9.41 (w/o any Duke Energy rebates since we received that months ago). So, we are super happy with our new solar electric panels.

Excellent service and product

Thank you Superior Solar for my electric solar system! The interface portal is such eye candy! I am truly enjoying watching my system save us money and use less electricity from the power company! A nice perk is to see the equilivant of how many trees I planted and CO2 Emmissions saved by my solar electric system. Solar Edge is a highly efficient and reliable product. Special thanks to the sales team of David and Nick for holding my hand and being there for me through this whole installation process and the service technicians: Frank, Jacob and Jason. Finally, Brooke and her team at EJS contractors who repaired my stucco did a fabulous job. this was a great process, very easy, sales guy was not hard sell. installers were very nice quick an efficient. did a great job. building inspector was out in 2 days waiting on KUA now to swap meters.

Excellent Service

I wanted to say I had excellent customer service from Ellsworth Corum. I had several companies come to my house to give me bids. They all give you a sales speech but Ellsworth explain everything to me down to the T. What I thought was a plus is that most companies have one brand of solar that they try to push on you where superior has several to choose from. Ellsworth customize a system to my liking. Another plus is he is very patient. I had tons of questions, I mean it took me months of Q&A with him. He was always a phone call away. Now lets talk price. They beat all of the other competitors by thousands. If you are considering solar and you live in the central Florida area call Ellsworth at Superior Solar.

PV Solar is working Great!

This review may be lengthy; however I want to explain why I recommend Superior Solar, my representative, Michael Boykin at Superior Solar, and how our system has been working. We are not rich, we drive older inexpensive cars, we are on a budget, and we are careful to consider purchases. I had been curious about solar for two reasons: it is good for the environment, and I thought if it was done correctly, the correct size, and with the correct bank loan, we could potentially be paying ZERO additional money to buy solar. Fortunately, the Federal Tax Credit of 30% made installing a solar PV system on our home possible with what I was trying to achieve financially. Currently we have had our system long enough that I can compare the data. I have been collecting data from each electric bill we receive and comparing the KWh usage per month with solar power vs. last year’s data (without solar). I don’t want to disclose my financial details on this review (bank loan APR, total system cost, actual tax credit), but I do want to share that only 6 months of data has shown that I have been paying only $7 per month (actual number): For example, (not actual numbers for privacy): My average savings with solar has been $98 per month and my monthly payment to the bank to pay off the solar has been $105 per month. AND keep in mind, that I OWN the system. Once my loan is paid off, I will not have to pay close to anything for electric! And right now, instead of paying $100 to the electric company I am paying $100 to pay the loan. Almost ZERO additional money to buy Solar. I had worked the numbers and potential savings for months trying to determine if this could be a reality. That is where Superior Solar’s unbelievable customer service comes in…. Michael Boykin is who I worked with at Superior Solar. Michael made me feel like I was his only priority. I must have emailed him 1-4 times a day with the most random questions. He promptly and professionally replied to each query. And many times, on the weekends or late at night. He took his time on the phone and on email correspondence to help me understand solar, the costs, benefits, and the science of solar. I highly recommend speaking Michael Boykin at Superior Solar. I never felt pressure from him. Michael knew that the solar system would sell itself, I just had to keep asking the questions and doing the research to convince myself. I honestly kept thinking, “This is too good to be true…. there must be a catch”. I decided that the only way to really know for sure was to just do it. And here I am, with all this data now showing me that there is no catch…It was a smart financial decision. As a neat benefit, our system comes with the ability to plug a power chord directly into the inverter when the grid power goes down. Our solar is tied into the main city electric grid. When the grid power went down a couple months ago, I plugged into my system directly and could power our refrigerator and several other appliances…and, I had power to spare. I was in the process of running an extension chord to our neighbor’s house to give them power when the grid power finally did come back on. Nobody had to think about trying to dig the gas-powered generator out of the garage, put gas in it, make all that noise…. we just plugged in and were back in business! And we were the heroes of the neighborhood who still had cold sodas and ice! If you are even the slightest bit curious about solar electric, call or email Michael Boykin (Michael.Boykin@SuperiorSolar.com). He will take the time to educate you and answer all your questions. To him there was no stupid question, he knows this is a new thing to most and he is sincere in his desire to educate people about the benefits of solar and how it can be a smart financial decision. There will be no sales pressure, he and the rest of the people at Superior Solar will work with your power needs and financial situation to help you get solar power.

Great Company

We had Solar Source come out to give us an estimate to install a system for our swimming pool. It couldn't have gone any smoother. From the salesman (Tim) to the installers Bo and James everything went perfectly. We now have a great solar system that we hope will be able to expand our swimming season for an extra 3 to 4 months. It was a pleasure dealing with Solar Source. They showed up when they said they were going to and explained everything twice to us so we understood exactly what we had to do. Very user friendly system. Since we will have our system on most of the tome we opted to have a lever installed instead of the electric unit that controls the temperature. Our temperature went up almost 6 degrees the first day.

Superior Solar came highly recommended to me when I decided to heat my pool by solar. David Spanier was very knowledgeable about the system and able to answer my many questions. Several months after installation, I received a follow up call to make sure that I was happy with the results. I am thrilled that solar heat has extended my swimming season by several months. Great choice!

We had a whole-house solar system installed in 2016, exactly one year ago. We made an excellent choice by selecting Superior Solar Systems, and our salesman, Ellsworth Corum, was an instrumental part of our satisfaction with Superior Solar. Ellsworth was very knowledgeable about the industry and the products. He didn't pressure us to choose a particular panel manufacturer but gave us enough information in an honest way so that we could make our own choices. He very patiently answered all our questions and followed up after our installation to make sure everything ran smoothly. Ellsworth's interest in and excitement about solar energy was obvious and made our experience pleasant. The team that installed the solar panels was professional and speedy; installation went off without a hitch. Even though we had mechanical problems with our first inverter, the technicians responded promptly to diagnose the problem, install a second inverter, and make sure that we were up and running quickly. We are excited to have solar power and happy we made the leap into the renewable energy future.

I spent a whole year doing research about solar systems. All the prices from all the companies were very similar. However, the the quality of customer service and attention provided by Ellsworth from Superior was what convinced me to go with that company. I am very happy with the product and services provided.

Excellent Solar Experience with Superior Solar

I began researching Solar PV systems last November, with the idea of being more Eco-conscious and energy efficient. I realized right away that Solar Power in general was a good idea, and something within my reach. I contacted several local companies, of which Superior Solar was one. Ellsworth Corum came to my house and spent over an hour with me, covering Solar Power in general, the laws and legislation and solar power for me specifically. He was incredibly knowledgeable and more than willing to spend the time to thoroughly answer all of my questions. By the time he left, I was overwhelmingly convinced that Solar Power was right for my home, and that Superior Solar was the company to go with. In the end, Superior Solar exceeded all of my expectations - which were very high to begin with. The entire process - from agreement to post-installation was handled 100% by Superior; it couldn't have been easier. All of Superiors staff and representatives were patient and professional, making sure I was informed each step of the way. It seemed extremely clear to me that the installers were highly skilled and experienced, and did an excellent job. Five months later, our Solar PV system is producing electricity, and everything is working exactly as Superior designed and predicted. And the attention didn't end after the job was complete. Superior has quickly and thoroughly responded to all of my questions and requests since the installation was complete. I have become a huge advocate for Solar Power, and tell everyone if the sun shines where you live, it's at worth at least looking into. And for those looking to take the next steps, you must absolutely include Superior Solar on your list of companies to speak to. Superior Solar and Ellsworth Corum were hands down the most professional, knowledgeable and experienced of anyone that I spoke with.

Enjoying No Electric Bill

We are very happy with our solar process with Superior Solar and Ellsworth. We have had the system online and installed since Dec 2016 and still have not paid an electric bill. Actually we have a growing credit each month. I am sure that will change as we enter the summer months and our AC starts doing a lot Of work but our family saving money and the environment. The online app monitors our system and gives us real time data. the panels are uniformly installed on the SE side of the roof. We had a pleasant experience working with Superior Solar. They completed all the work and contracts with the county for us.

Superior Solar has been great

We knew it was a no brainer to go solar. The only question was which company. After speaking with a couple other companies that refused to give us a written estimate, we call Superior Solar. Ellsworth Corum was great. He made us feel comfortable and gave us a detailed written estimate. Superior Solar really made the process easy by filling out our required HOA architectural review board papers for us. Completed the job when they said they would in a day and a half. They even painted the wiring to match the color of the house.

From the very beginning, and especially in regards to Ernie at superior solar, this was a great experience. The company was honest in the costs involved, about the savings I could expect, and about the timeline for the install. They (Ernie) was upfront about how much I would save initially and how much more I could save with some mild trimming of trees of the property compared to moderate trimming. I was never over promised and each step along the was exactly as proposed and at the exact pace suggested (I imagine that absolute perfection in what they predicted and reality is a bit of luck and I would have been thrilled with an approximation of what actually happened. I would characterize every step happening exactly how and when they said it would as being extraordinary in my experience with any type of construction). During their initial walkthrough of my property, they discovered shady installation procedures of previous work I had done this summer and, in addition to fixing the installation at what I considered a small cost, went to great lengths to save the equipment that wasn't anchored to my roof properly (at all actually), going so far as to hire a contractor to remove the equipment and store it during hurricane Matthew. After they fixed it and finished their own install the system works wonderfully and exactly as advertised. I would not hesitate to recommend Superior Solar to anyone for any reason. As a final positive in the entire experience: all inspections passed on the first visit by the county as well, which has been a rare event with contractors I've used in my home in the last two years.

A Very Happy Customer

From the minute Bryan Hammond came out and showed us how we would benefit from solar energy, we we're excited! Everyone at Solar Source has been amazing to work with and very helpful through the whole process! We just received our first bill being totally on solar for $8.07 and even with our loan payments were are saving a ton of money and we aren't even in peak solar season! Best of all, we won't feel the effects of the huge FPL rate hike coming in 2017! It's a no brainer!
