Finally, a contractor who knows how to communicate

Recently installed a 15.2 kW Solar system through Smart Wave Solar. I contacted several Solar companies for quotes, and pricing for similarly sized systems ran the gamut. After speaking with several companies, I developed some opinions on what I felt I needed and what I didn’t. In a prior career, I was a general engineering contractor and have been in a professional sales role for over 20 years. I feel particularly qualified to write this review. Jake Whitney was my sales consultant. He truly had a consultative approach and I get comfortable enough with him, I would call him up to discuss some of the different suggestions on what to install I got from other companies. He is very knowledgeable about the product and I get he was also very transparent in our conversations. But the good didn’t stop with Jake. We are also doing several other renovations on our home and have worked with many other contractors recently. Employee shortages seem to be plaguing everyone. We have had some really bad experiences due to the labor market and contractor’s inability to perform as committed. Bethany Andrews has been our project coordinator. She has maintained weekly contact, letting us know where we were at during each stage of the process. Keeping an open line of communication has been key to understanding what was going on and what to expect. We have had so many “surprises” with out other contractors. Keeping the constant communication kept the surprises to a minimum. Everything happened just as, and when, they said it would. Bethany has also been great in responding to requests and has texted or emailed outside of normal office hours. On top of a great experience, I told one sales person trying to earn my business he was priced too high. He asked why I thought that and shared with him the pricing I was getting from Smart Wave. Point blank, the salesman told me that if they would install the panels and equipment they quoted at the price they quoted, I would be crazy not to go with Smart Wave because he could touch the price. Good price and a great customer experience is a recipe for success. At the end of the install, I really couldn’t be happier with Smart Wave Solar. I haven’t gotten my first electric bill yet, but I’m hoping for great things.
