My experience with my solar system has been as follows: Danny Simmons, of Go Solar of Virginia, came and carefully explained, in detail, the costs and benefits of getting the system he designed for my needs and left me an estimate. It was expertly installed at the end of 2018. Prior to going solar, my electricity bills averaged $219.00 per month. After going solar, my electricity bills averaged $51.00 per month. So far, in January - April of 2024, the average has been $18.00 per month; AND, with the sale of extra solar energy that I didn't use in 2024, I currently have an extra $126.50 in my bank account due to solar! In addition, most of the cost of the solar system has been recovered through governmental rebates and deductible credits. With credits to be claimed in future tax returns and future sales of generated excess solar energy, the total costs of the solar system will be recovered soon. Not to mention the higher value of my residential property now due to the installed solar system. After initially being a little skeptical, I am so glad that I decided to go solar and help myself and the environment!
