Take a chance on SOLAR!!

I have both solar panels which are tied to the AEP grid (meaning they "buy" back or credit me for any electricity that I don't need/use) and a hybrid vehicle. Six (6) months out of the year, I only pay the connectivity fees on my AP bill ($9.05 for 2020-21-22, $9.55 for 2023, and it appears to be about $11.33 for 2024 with the new price increase). The other months are greatly reduced from what they would be. So, this offsets the electricity that I use to re-charge my hybrid vehicle. Both gave me considerable tax credits during the tax year of installation. In fact, some of the credit carried over to the next tax year (meaning that I got back all of my paid income taxes one year and then a portion the next tax year, too). Yes, I was also fortunate to re-finance my home (from 5.75% to 2.85% in August 2020) and used some cash-back options to pay for the solar panels and new roof (don't put solar panels on an aged roof). The new roof also received some tax credits for updating the energy efficiency of my home! So, get the real facts about solar energy before you put it down!
