Less than honest

Bottom line: -Our system was sold to us as a 9.2K-watt systems, the system can never produce more than 7.2 K-watt. All the charts & graphs used as sales tactics are misleading and Palomar does nothing to clarify the misinformation. -We need to find another Emphases installer to install the monitoring devices recommended by Enphase, since Palomar refuses to reply after they were paid. -Palomar’s refusal to communicate after the sale is indicative of a poorly managed company, a company where support ends once the final payment is received. Since the systems installation (months ago) they have refused reply to any communications! The Senior Energy Consultant was dishonest and outright lied to us about system capacity, energy offset, and other aspects of the job. He was absolutely horrible to deal with, refused to answer many questions, and often lied when he did answer. In attempt to continue with the project we reached out to the owner (Adam) directly, he stepped in and spent the time to answer our questions and concerns, assuring us that we were entering into a relationship as a customer and that he would personally take care of our project. We found out after paying that his promises were empty, 5 months after our system was installed Palomar refuses to answer any communications- Horrible! Some of the issues: 1. Palomar pushes sales of black on black panels, but we knew other panels (same manufacturer) offered higher output (newer technology). We explained that we wanted to use the highest output PV panels regardless of appearance, and offered to pay for any increase in costs to get the highest output available. Palomar stated that to keep the company’s reputation they only used black on black panels and would not install anything except the black on black. Months later they show up and install panels which were NOT black on black, so much for the statement about the company’s reputation and not being able to install other panels… 2. We explained that we wanted to have as many panels as could fit on our roof. Palomar said that only 25 panels would fit, I asked how they determined since no one ever measured our roof. They said that a “satellite view is used and it is very accurate”. When we pointed out that Palomar had previously measured (in person) and provided a proposal to install 32 panels, we were told the new panels were much larger so only 25 would fit. I spent the time and found the specifications for the panels on both Palomar bids, comparing the two the sizes- the higher rated panels would fit. 3. One of the reasons we opted to go solar was that we wanted a dedicated EV 240-VAC charging station. This was discussed with the PM when he came out for the site visit and he said he would include it in the contract. When the contract was received for review and signature, the EV Charging Station was not included and Palomar has refused to communicate with us to remedy the situation. 4. Palomar changed the date of the installation without notification, on the Friday before the installation Palomar changed the date of installation to the following Monday. I could go on telling you of other problems, but the review site limits the number of words allowed. We have had nothing by POOR Service from Palomar!
