They failed the sniff test...

I was excited to install a SunPower solar system on my house which has a slate roof. SunPower referred me to Kamtech and Dan came to my house for an initial evaluation. He was pleasant and assured us that with the system that he designed we would get at least a 36% reduction in our electric bill. If we did not, he told us that we would get a check for the difference. Everything was great until we received the contract which was one sided and poorly written. There was no business or street address or contact info for the contractor in the contract, indemnification was one way only, and no mention of the 36% reduction guarantee just to mention a few items of concern. I googled the Inwood address which turned out to be a thrift shop (they said that they are located next door, but there is no Kamtech sign on the building at all). And then I read the company reviews which were glowing several years ago but have been scathing the past few years. I spoke with Ben (sales mgr) to give him an opportunity to explain but he became indignant and advised me that mine was a small job and that he was too busy to speak with me. I am thankful that I did not give them any money and they showed their true colors before doing any work on my home.
