We're happy, but do research and be certain of what you want.

Solar is a large investment and writing a fair review on a large investment is a tough thing to do because it's easy to be unhappy when big money is involved, but it's also easy to be afraid to be unhappy for the same reason. With that in mind, I'd first like to point out a few things I think will make your decision on a solar investment more likely to be successful. 1. Do lots and lots of research. Dale (Sales Manager at Pacific Sun Tech) has plenty of YouTube videos on different products, as well as the installation process; making him a great resource. We happened to ultimately go with his company; however, you should seek a variety of sources of information to figure out what's best for you. The fact that you're reading this is a good start! 2. Know how much money you're willing to spend and seek multiple quotes/offers to make the most of that. In our case, Pacific Sun Tech actually ended up being the more expensive choice. 3. Do research on the products you plan to purchase and understand your roof. It kind of goes without saying that the solar installer is going to understand this better than you, but it's important you are somewhat educated on the matter so you can gain confidence in your installer. If after doing all of this you're still considering Pacific Sun Tech, here's our experience with them... First, we met with Dale over Zoom and gave him a run down of what we're looking for. Dale pitched us a product slate that matched the products we were interested in with a total installation quote. We considered it, but decided the power output wouldn't be enough for our future needs and met with Dale again to rework the size and quote. Before officially accepting the offer, Pacific Sun Tech sent out a technician named Devin to inspect our roof and electrical panel for compatibility. We then worked with Dale twice more to optimize panel placements and inverter types before officially accepting the offer. From here there was a 4-6 week pause as bureaucracy processes were handled with the city (blueprints and permits). Pacific Sun Tech handled all of this and was communicative with every step of the process. Once approved, Pacific Sun Tech set an installation date with us and instructed us on what other minor things were needed to make the process smooth (things like a small canister of paint to match home color for conduit pipes, driveway access, etc). It took 4 people and 2 days for the installation to be fully completed and operational. Afterwards, the final steps were also handled by Pacific Sun Tech, which were passing city inspection and handling our Net Metering application with the utility provider. All in all, we were very impressed with how smooth everything went... We accepted the installation offer around the middle of September and had solar power operating by Nov. 2nd. The total price was higher than other offers, but that was a choice we made based on confidence we gained in Dale when we watched his product reviews and installation videos. I will say that after accepting the offer, there were 2 concerns that came up on our end that ultimately seemed to be our fault, but it's why I stressed in the beginning of the review that you understand the products you're agreeing to purchase before signing. 1. We signed the contract with a known change order that would occur later. We estimated the change order would cost us ~$800, but it actually cost $1200. In the future, if the change order is known, I'd wait to sign until after the change was drawn up. 2. We signed the contract assuming we were getting Pegasus Solar tile replacements, but we instead got Ironridge tile replacements. This doesn't ultimately matter, since the solar panels cover up the installation anyway; however, it did serve as a point of confusion and I could see others being upset with the difference. For this reason, to help ensure your happiness, I'd recommend you research both products and if you decide you heavily prefer one over the other, then insist upon it when drawing up a contract to sign.
