Review for Renova Energy

Some significant hiccups, but happy in the end

We chose Renova because they had the microinverters in the panels and that was a feature we really wanted to have due to its efficiency gains, as well as not needing to have huge panels in our garage. The materials are great, our sales rep was really fantastic and thoughtful, and our installers were quick and efficient. However, a significant complaint we had is that the project management was slipshod and inattentive. We were not kept up to date as to what they were doing, what access they needed, and even when the project was completed. In addition, the managers shared an older version of the plans with the installers, so that they had to remove and reinstall the panels to accord with the correct plan. To be honest, we almost cancelled the project before it began due to the exceptionally poor project management. To make matters worse, because we were the first in our development to get solar, we had all the early adopter challenges throughout, and the inattentive project management only exacerbated those challenges. That said, project management was coordinated enough to PROMPTLY get us the bills for each phase of the project, so they clearly have some capability to coordinate matters that they prioritize. In the end, we really like the project, the installation, and the ongoing support from our sales rep Matt. Without him and his involvement, we likely would have cancelled. So, although the management was extremely poor, the project clearly outweighs that and made our decision to go with Renova the right one.
