Mostly Good Experience

I really enjoyed my initial experience with Cam Solar. Kevin, my sales rep, was responsive and flexible. He was willing to accommodate my request for a phone meeting instead of an in-person meeting, and then he sent over easy-to-read estimates based on a few different scenarios. I preferred Kevin over the 6 other sales reps I talked to from the various companies. He was also willing to match the best other pricing I received and their warranty was excellent, so that was a win-win. We researched the panels themselves and they seem to be of high quality with good yield. The installation process went fairly well, much better than other stories I've heard. It was done within the 3 month window estimated. The panels themselves look good on the roof, although they are definitely not low-profile panels. I wondered why they came standard with a creature-guard netting around them, and now that they are on the roof I know why! There is definitely a gap between the panels and the roof. I still think they look fine, but if flush-mounted panels are important to you keep that in mind. I have one complaint about the company, which is that after the panels were installed all customer service came to a screeching halt. I had to call about turning the panels on (turns out my utility had already done that, thankfully). They did not ever reach out to me again after the install. Then when the monitoring software didn't work it took me weeks and multiple phone calls to get that taken care of. They seemed to have moved on to other customers and kind of forgotten about us. However in the end everything is up and working and the final incentive check back to us was issued as promised, and the system became operational right after install, and the people were always nice and professional when I did reach out to them, so I can't complain too much. No process is without its glitches, right? Overall I would definitely not hesitate to recommend this company.
