Knowledge is key, here is some before you buy Solar... I had doubts about this from the moment I read the draft of the contract to be signed, but I signed anyway. You are sold a "system" that is EXPECTED to produce some % of your last year's usage (90% to 100%). They will tell you your system as designed WILL produce a certain (later called EXPECTED) amount, and that they have seen a system this size exceed this amount. You will then find in your contract that it is only guaranteed to produce 80% of that EXPECTED number. After you sign the contract, the only number that matters is the GUARANTEED production. I contacted them after month 1, month 2, and month 3 saying my production was lower than expected... They said don't worry,, give it a full year. So my system is 1 year old now, It was expected to produce ~10,400kwh, it produced ~8,500kwh. This is 81.7%, just over the guarantee. Well a full year has gone by. Sunnova owns the Solar system and I am not a Momentum provides me NO customer service... Sunnova says "I apologize" but all they can do is have THEIR Solar installer, Momentum, call me to provide a quote to make the system larger.. GO SOLAR!! Capitalism at its best!!
