Poor Installation

Mr. Been installed a PV system on my home in Lubbock in 2016. The installation took several months and ran into the late night hours at times. Mr. Been told me he had acquired a permit from the City of Lubbock only to find that he had not. He spent a considerable amount of time working that out once the system was installed and ready to be turned on. A number of people within the City of Lubbock and LP&L came to his aid to help both he and I. After almost 4 months my small system was turned on and ran well. Fast forward to the May hail storm of 2018. Mr. Been is nowhere to be found and will not return phone calls. My panels survived the hail just fine but the new contractor I had to remove them when the roof was to be replaced was surprised at the poor quality of the installation. The connections to the roof were not flashed as per the International Building Code, Chapter 15, and that was all verified. The rails were poorly connected and failing. Multiple holes had been drilled in my roof deck, not used and filled in with silicone caulk covered with a piece of roof shingle. Most of those pieces had fallen off. My insurance did not pay for the faulty installation of the system and I was out another considerable sum of money to correct the poor quality installation and bring it to code. These are all facts and not opinions. I would strongly warn anyone from doing any further business with Mr. Been given my experiences.
