I was asked if I would mind writing a review about my experience with Brightest Solar of Charleston, S.C. - - and I am more than happy to do so!<br /><br />I am really, really happy that I chose to buy a top-of-the-line solar system from Brightest Solar instead of spending a lot of money for another company's questionable system. Brightest Solar had my system installed without me having to pull a dime out of my bank account - - and my electric bill has practically disappeared! (And when this Winter's huge electric bills were making headline news all over the Low Country, my solar system produced so much power that SCE&G actually gave me credits!!)<br /><br /> I'm an elderly widow, in my 80's, living on a fixed income, so going solar was a very intimidating concept. (I wasn't at all sure about it, considering the many ‘fads' that I've seen come & go in my life!) Does it work? Would it make sense? Am I “too old†to reap the rewards? Would my taxes go up? Would my son be saddled with unmanageable debt if I were to suddenly pass away? I had lots and lots of questions - - and after meeting with a few solar salespeople (most of whom obviously came from other parts of the country), I really didn't feel like I could trust anyone to give me straight answers (especially when many wouldn't even try to answer my questions after they learned of my age and limited income!)<br /><br />But then I got a call from “Brightest Solar†- - a local company - - and was able to arrange a meeting with the owner, Rob Dodge. He immediately impressed me as being very knowledgeable in every aspect of solar energy, but what I really appreciated was that he could use simple words to explain to me not just how solar power would work in my home, but also help me to evaluate how the various available solar panels and systems could potentially impact my finances. <br /><br />Now, I've got to be extremely careful with spending anything from my limited budget; and I usually get a lot of evasive answers and ‘technical talk' whenever I ask questions about product warranties, insurance and the so-called ‘guarantees' that most companies extend on their products, but Mr. Dodge seemed to really understand and appreciate my questions. He made sure that his company's advertised advantages were fully explained, and he provided documentation and certifications. His answers not only made sense to someone who felt overwhelmed by the subject - - but just as importantly, he demonstrated that Brightest Solar really has a genuine commitment to quality-control and optimal performance. For example, it was really nice that instead of trying to do everything over the telephone (or computer like everyone likes to do these days) - - they actually came to my home and addressed my questions about design, solar-production and maintenance before I even considered whether I would move forward! They did an in-home electrical audit at no cost. They designed alternate systems and provided the details on different financing options without pressuring me at all! They even ensured that our trees were trimmed, and the whole system was designed, tested and tweaked to provide me with the very best system possible - - and true to their promise (which initially sounded ‘too good to be true', I haven't had to spend a dime out of my monthly budget! <br /><br />Thanks to Brightest Solar and Rob Dodge, from here on out, instead of just paying the electric bill, I use my limited budget to invest in a substantial home-improvement that pays for itself while adding measurable value to the home that I've lovingly restored - - and I take great comfort and pride in knowing that I will be leaving my son a home that will allow him to enjoy FREE ELECTRICITY long after I've passed away!
