When my husband and I decided that we wanted to have solar panels installed, we did an extensive amount of research and believed we were experts when we finally began our search for a company to install the system. Jim Reilly of Celestial Solar Innovations represented one of four solar companies we scheduled to meet with. We were immediately comfortable with Jim when he came to our home to discuss our goals and options. We did not feel any amount of pressure during the entirety of the meeting. There was never any ego in his pitch (something we felt with a couple of the other contractors), just pride and sincerity. The valuable information Jim provided led us to quickly realize that we were not the experts we believed we were. Jim patiently listened to and answered our questions and concerns, and by the end of the meeting we felt that Jim had not only given us a clear understanding of what we could expect both immediately and in the future, but also that we could secure an even better system than we had imagined without exceeding our budget. He thoroughly described the make-up of the system. As we were considering our options over the next couple of weeks, Jim responded quickly and intelligently to all of our questions. <br /><br />The look of the panels was a high priority to us. We purchased the all black LG panels that Jim suggested and, in my opinion, our roof looks sharper than any other solar roof in our neighborhood or beyond because of those panels! It was also important to us that the conduits not be visible on the roof, and he assured us that they could be run through our attic, which they were. Jim was the only one of the four individuals we met with to tell us about the Quick Mount Elevated Seal anchors that his installers utilize, and I have peace of mind that our roof will have no leaks resulting from the anchors. We were provided various production expectations based upon different system sizes and ultimately went with a system that gives us a 100% return. It is very rewarding when I look at my BGE bill and see multiple days of credits to be applied against minimal charges that result from overcast and rainy days. Our first post-solar BGE bill was $28.00, and that is because we had a week without solar on that cycle, and we contribute to the Fuel Fund. We expect a credit on our next bill.<br /><br />The cost of the system was also a priority, of course. One of Jim's first comments in that regard was that he predicted he would provide the second lowest quote to us. He was correct, but by the time we made our myriad of changes to our original specifications, his quote became the lowest of the four we received. He carefully explained the federal and state credits we would receive, as well as SRECs, and calculated that we would recoup all of our costs within seven years, well within the warranty period and long before we would have to replace any parts of the system.<br /><br />The process couldn't have been easier on our end. We simply had to make the decisions, be home for a day, and write the checks. We have yet to reap the benefit of the credits, as we get to claim them on our 2017 returns, but we expect that Jim has proactively done all that needs to be done to secure those credits for us. We are extremely pleased with the system and the process, would highly recommend Celestial Solar Innovations to anyone seeking to install solar panels.
