We have had Enphase microinverters on residential roof PV systems for over 6 years. In our experience, over 10% of the microinverters fail per year! The real world MTBF is magnitudes worse than specified. To make things worse, the monitoring system fails to send email alerts when a microinverter fails, so we have to manually monitor the systems about every 2 weeks. To make things even worse, Enphase support is almost non-existent; the most they will do is mail a replacement module, although it is known that there is a design/manufacturing defect in the model; they take no responsibility for replacement, which involves considerable time and labor on residential roofs. Installers who had used Enphase in the past, won't touch Enphase for new installs; I certainly would not.
