Great job and very pleased with Lumina

Lumina Solar installed a 5.98kW 13-panel solar system the second week of January, luckily before the major snow and ice storm hit this region of Virginia. I did a lot of research both on the equipment and the company. Our panels are REC460AA Pure-RX using 13 Enphase IQ8X Inverters. My wife and I are very pleased with our system for a number of reasons, including: 1) if you do any type of research, the REC solar panels and the Enphase inverters are highly rated in the industry, which meant a lot to us. 2) the installation was extremely professional and was very top-notch. One of the reasons we chose Lumina was they only use their employees for the installation, and it was fantastic. Even the inspector made a comment how clean, neat and orderly the install was. All of the other companies we received bids from contracted out the install to other companies. 3) In my job before I retired I often reviewed and approved contracts. Lumina’s contract was very well done and very comprehensive, and I was impressed as I wanted to be sure everything needed for both parties was covered. 4) An additional reason we selected Lumina was the extended warranty offered from 25 to 30 years for a very reasonable sum. As I am 70 plus years old I am not concerned about the additional length of time, but the warranty will pay at no cost to us to remove and re-install the solar panels if we ever need to replace the roof due to hail, wind, etc., using Lumina Roofing. Gabriel Shabtai was our Solar Consultant and did a good job of explaining solar and the company and was great getting us through signing the contract. However, we were concerned that we didn’t hear much from him once we signed our contract, and we wished that he would have informed us of the backlog of installations Lumina had to complete as it took from July when we signed the contract to early January for the installation. Much of that was likely due to the rush Lumina was experiencing to meet the IRS tax rate expiration date.
