Worst financial decision I ever made

I was hesitant to buy this system, if you were to go back and listen to my phone calls with the sales person, you could tell that I really didn’t wanna buy it but somehow I let him talk me into it. I have a 26 kW system that cost me $90,000 financed over 20 years. I’ve called multiple times cause I feel like the system wasn’t performing or at least not saving the money that they made me think I was gonna save. My December‘s electric bill for 2025 was $450, on top of that I have a $520 Solar payment. So looking at close to $1000 for the month of December. Absolutely insane. They tried to tell me that my electric use went up. They came out and installed the panels within two weeks, but took several months to get it online. Trying to call and get help was a huge PITA. I have a 2700 ft.² house with two small air conditioners. And 1800 ft.² garage cooled by a mini split, a small Koi pond with two medium sized pumps and a pool. I’m the only person living in this property. I do use a good amount of electricity, which is why I looked at Solar in the first place because I thought it would offset some of that, but overall I’m paying more for the Solar and my electric bill than I would be if I was just paying for electric alone, plus I wouldn’t be tied to this massive loan. For last month’s bill if I would’ve just paid outright, It would’ve been about $680. So that’s close to almost a $300 loss in just that month. No savings, just headaches and feeling like I got scammed. Buyer beware. I’d also like to add that I wanted to initially install it on the ground not on my roof. I have plenty of property but they would not allow me to do any of the work. It could’ve saved me thousands of dollars just prepping the ground to get ready. And the panels could be facing south where they installed it on a roof facing west. After we initially made the first deal. I called within their three day time period to cancel the project, I went back-and-forth on the phone with the sales person before he made it seem like he could get me this “good deal” and that I would be well worth it. I’ve had these panels for about three years now. At this point, I just try not to think about it cause it really stresses me out. But in no way shape or form am I happy with this purchase.
