Unsafe Wiring, Underperformance, and No Accountability

My experience with Efficient Home Services (EHS) has been a nightmare. The problems aren’t minor — they go to the core of safety, compliance, and honesty. Incorrect wiring: The system was engineered as 9-9-9, but EHS built it as 14/6/7, which violates Enphase’s published maximum of 13 IQ8+ per branch. Enphase confirmed this in writing and even noted cable warping/damage. Performance shortfall: The system has produced under 80% of the contract guarantee (11,957 vs. 15,001 kWh). EHS dismissed this as “normal production.” Backup loads not connected: The critical loads panel was never wired. During an outage, my home loses all power — making the battery useless. Bonus offer never delivered: I was promised a bonus incentive at the time of signing, and despite repeated follow-ups, I still haven’t received it. Customer service: Instead of taking responsibility, EHS tried to charge me a “truck roll fee” to fix their own installation errors. I’ve involved Enphase directly, and they confirmed these are installation/commissioning defects, not hardware problems. At this point, it’s clear EHS puts volume sales ahead of doing the job right — and doesn’t honor commitments to customers. ⚠️ If you are considering solar with EHS, please do your research carefully. I would not recommend them to anyone.
