Be careful!

We have solar with battery backup because my wife is dependent on medical equipment. When our original installation failed and the manufacturer and installer were both out of business I contacted Sunwave Energy, Inc. They installed a new system. When we had our first power failure (fortunately that is infrequent here) the battery backup failed. Sunwave returned and determined that at least one of the components that had been used in the system controls was inappropriate. Their technician also determined that the system had been installed incorrectly. They changed out the incorrect component and reinstalled the system. While they were here I had them install an additional battery unit (Jose quoted me $1,000 and charged $7,000). The last I saw of Sunwave was in March of this year (2025) when their technician determined that both battery backup units were faulty. A couple of weeks later, Enphase sent a technician who verified that conclusion. To date (18 July), there has been no resolution or estimated date provided for completion of a functioning installation. In the past week I have sent several messages to Jose Alvarez asking when the system will be functional and he has not responded in any way. So far we have roughly a documented $32,000 invested in this system. I could have bought a pretty nice generator for that amount. When the problems arose Jose tried to get me to assume responsibility for getting Enphase to correct the problems.
