SCAM
This company is a complete scam. If I could rate them a zero I would!!!!! They charged us over 47k for solar panels which is about 17k over the market rate for panels that were supposed to completely covered parts, labor and maintenance for 25 years and shuttered without transferring the warranty. If you are able to get someone from their AZ office to answer the phone they refer you to Battle Born Solar ( who has suspended contractors license in NV) who wants to charge you a $385 truck roll out fee. Other local agencies charge 150-185 for dx of your unit. Turns out our investor was mis-wired which caused it to burn out and although the investor is covered under the manufactures warranty we are now on the hook for over $1000 in repairs. Furthermore the installers at Universal Solar broke several roof tiles that we now have to get repaired as well. Please for the sake of your sanity do not enter a business relationship with Universal Solar Direct in NV/AZ

Scammers
Had solar installed in Feb 2023. System began malfunctioning in May 2024. At that time the company had went out of business. We experienced a complete system failure in Oct 2025. The parent company has filed bankruptcy and there is no trace of them locally. We are faced with paying for repairs out of pocket while we are still responsible for paying NV Energy and DIVIDEND. When I finally got a company to get on the roof and check the system out they found 10 broken tiles and quoted me over $1000 for repair as they have to rewire the system! Every license associated with this company in NV has been suspended or revoked. I however have noticed that the operating officer on the SUSPENDED license in NV is also listed on the active License in AZ...further proof that Universal Solar Direct is engaging in poor business practice and running away from their commitments.

Liars and Scammers
Nothing I was told was true. I still pay a high power bill. They did not even complete their own install agreement. I have called them several times and they won't return my calls. Horrible people, nasty company!
Randy | Las Vegas, NV | 08/01/2024
Have had panels for a few years. Had several problems at installation, including broken sky lights. LG batteries failed after a year, took a year to replace. Had roof leaks. They removed panels and their roofers were to repair. Next rain still leaked. Hired a different roofing company. Universal charged $300 a panel to remove and replace, I have 35. Two guys 4 hours to remove. Scheduled 4 guys one day to install, did half and left said I needed to reschedule to finish, and of course they didn’t clean up

Good service
From their customer service to their professional installers everything was top notch. Are install went smooth without a hitch. Not only that they have been backed twice once to replace the monitoring and once to repair a nail I found that went through the side of the eaves. Both at no cost to us. Edgar helped us out and is their operations manager. Thanks guys. Definitely a 5 star company.

Do not return phone calls. The craftsmanship of work is not the best. Waiting 3 months for the money they said they would pay when NV Energy removed the band on the meter. The panels work and the price was ok. I would not recommend.

DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS
Not my favorite sure was hot to take my money and then not respond back, block my emails and never return phone calls when your equipment malfunctioned and I didn't even know I wasn't producing from my panels. Then say "oh we knew since January". I have paid close to $1,200 in electric bills back-to-back $500 during the summer when my panels produce the most juice. and still, have another one due. I am recently diagnosed with cancer, so to have these expenses on top of all of this physical stress is ridiculous. Pretending you don't have a manager and pushing calls off and never responding back. Perhaps I should see how many others are involved in this farce and seek legal advice.
Felix | Las Vegas, NV | 10/22/2022
Terrible my panels stop producing energy for two months and NV energy charge me $850.00 and Universal doesn’t want to reimburse me the money I paid Don’t trust them!!!!!!!

Stay away from Universal Solar
I ordered Solar from them on Feb 16, 2021 and till date (June 22, 2021) they have not installed it. To top it all there has been no proper communication. I have had to mail over and over and then they sent some excuse. The project manager Angela said she will copy me on all approval mails but I haven't received any mail from her as well. Overall their pricing and offers were great but I don't think they stand behind their words. Once you sign you are done and dusted and they don't care . Really disappointed that I selected them. Update: Sept 15 and my panels are not yet functioning. My loan payments have started and now I have to pay both APS and Solar. They had promised some cash back but I have been emailing them but no reply at all. Update : Sep 17 and finally my solar panels are up and running however haven't received the promised Cashback as of Oct 7. Still mailing them for the same and I get lame excuses. Folks please stay away from this company. I don't want anybody to go through what I'm going through.

Never worked properly
Paid $40,000 cash to include a backup battery and EV car charger. Universal told me I need 30 panels for my house, but the utility company said that was too many panels for the amount of electricity I use, so they denied the installation and said I could only put 27 panels on my. Universal installed 30 panels anyway and told me I had pay them or they would put a lien on my house. The utility said if I tried to use the solar they would lock me out of the system. After getting that resolved the car charger has never worked, and when my power went out the backup battery didn't work. They said I had an advanced system that even when the power would go out, the panels would still charge but they did not. They won't return my calls. Hiring an attorney and filing a complaint with the Contractor's Board.

Beware will keep all deposit.
Brian came gave me a quote. Didn't ask how old roof was, it's a 25 year tile roof been on 15 years. I decided to go with them. The next next day they called and said they had a cancellation and could start putting solar on. I asked about permits and they said it was no problem its just a walk to get one. I called the next morning and said no to starting without permit and I wanted to see where the panels were going to go. Got a email mail showing placement. I decided I didn't want solar it doesn't say nonrefundable on deposit. They say they have to much invested in product to give me any of of deposit. Beware

Universal Solar Direct is the best choice for Solar!
Universal Solar Direct is the best choice for Solar! They are very informative and will set you up to maximize your solar intake to save on your NV Energy bill. The battery will store any excess energy that you didn't use each month so that you can use it in the HOT months and really save a lot of money. The installers and office are really friendly and professional. I'm happy I made the choice to go with Universal Solar Direct!

A complete scam
The salesperson sold me on solar and per the contract signed in September 2020 they agreeded to have the panels installed by Dec 31st. Thet took a deposit of 1/3 down, close to $7000, and then never did any work. even a complaint to the Arizona Register of Contractors didn't get them to do the work. As of the end of February 2021 I have no solar panels and I am out my deposit. They didn't even apply for a building permit until after the ROC inspector scheduled. They are basic scam artists. Don't use them unless you want them to steal your deposit and spend years in court going after your money. Nothing but lies and false promises. They have no ethics or integrity.

Not perfect, but solid and committed company
Recommended! I wanted to choose a smaller company that had more of a "family business" feel, and I knew going-in that Universal was going to be a bit more expensive than many of the big name “bargain basement†installers, but I expected Universal would do things correctly, and have a deeper relationship with their customers to be sure everything was settled and transparent, with a high level of service. In summary, I buy major purchases based on quality, value, and integrity - even if it costs a bit more – do you really want to leave your solar project that should last 25+ years to the lowest cost bidder? With all the horror stories you hear about solar installers, it is very important to me to have a personal relationship to be able to connect with the installer every step of the way if needed - and that is what I found with Universal, and they have been stellar. I would absolutely recommend Universal for your solar project. Let me start by saying that not everything went perfectly every step of the way -- there were some mis-steps by Universal in the sale and installation, as well as possibly some misunderstandings on my part as to the delivered solution. However, and this is key to me (and should be to you) -- Universal stepped up -- they owned the issue -- they were reachable, they escalated issues to leaders of the organization who really take a personal interest in the project and in the success of the customer (all the way up to the company founder). Having the ability to get the installation done correctly, with the best solar components (Q-Cells, SolarEdge), and having a direct-line to the organization leaders who are truly committed to your success will mean that the company will be around for a long-term in case you ever need to use the 25 year warranty - I don't think many of the solar installers will be... but in my opinion, you will get the value out of your project with Universal, and know that you'll have a support team behind you every step of the way. The integrity of your solar installer should be paramount for your long-term expectations, and I found integrity in Universal -- I think you will not be disappointed.

Huge scam Universal Solar Direct
Huge Scam Universal Solar ....they drilled holes into my roof right through my ceiling....had tar dripping through into my home...complete hack job.... they told me I would reduce my bill to $12 a month with NVEN....I keep my temp average at 78*....I'm getting a bill from NV Energy for $147 and I'm also paying for the solar system at about $200 a month...this is not what they promised....if they had been honest with me upfront I would have never bought the system....I was told by Vito the salesman that it would take a few months to build up credits but in that time they had a payment grace period so it would all even out.....oh what a lie....if I knew the truth they would have never gotten the sale and that folks is why they lie to you...now Universal solar is telling me it takes a year to build up the credits, which is actually 1and 1/2 years....I totally got scammed and now am paying double electricity bills...this will happen to you too if you do business with them...LET THE BUYER BEWARE

Superior product
After doing a lot of research on panels, I decided to go with universal because they carry Panasonic panels.
Hjohnson | Las Vegas, NV | 12/13/2019
No monitoring
I have added per there sales person calculations 4 more panels and was advised I would be able to monitor them as my other 20 panels, its almost 2 1/2 years and still no monitoring of the 4 new panels and now they are just blowing me off saying it would cost them more than the 4 panels to have me monitor my additional panels. Like buying a car with no gas gauge to know if its full or not. I left 8-12 messages and they will not respond.

Refreshingly different
USD has been the best company I have had the pleasure of working with in the last 10 years! Coming back from Japan to the U.S. is quite a culture shock and people are very impersonal here comparatively. They are professional, efficient and still allow themselves to be friendly! I find these traits severely lacking these days in so many businesses that treat you like just one more job! The staff members I have talked to have always been courteous, helpful and nice to talk with when everything else seems to be so chaotic. This company is a breath of fresh air! I wish more companies would treat their customers this way! They are even continuing to help me by answering questions about the solar to help sell our house! PHENOMENAL!!!

Pleasant Experience
They were a pleasure to work with from start to finish! Permitting took some time, but they kept me updated the entire process. The installers were pleasant and cleaned up when they left.

Great company and affordable price
This company is local and has been expanding so I thought I would use them after my friend referred them. Ironically my friend works for another solar company as a manager and decided to use Universal Solar Direct so that says a lot. They were professional from start to finish from the sales person to the installers and the managers final inspection. They even fixed some broken roof tiles I had on another section of the roof where there weren’t any panels installed. It was not their responsibility to do that but it shows the level of commitment this company has to satisfaction. My electric bill has basically vanished. Universal Solar direct delivered as promised and I would highly recommend this company.

Beware
Round one: They came ringing my doorbell multiple times at about 6:45am. After they finished and left my property, I realized the EV charger was not installed. I noticed a mess on my garage floor from installing the invertor. As I walked around my house to see the solar panels, I saw garbage, tools, and hardware on the ground. I looked in my pool and saw garbage and hardware at the bottom of my pool. I realized they didn’t apply the correct layout to the panels on my roof. Round two: They come back to fix the mistakes they made minus all the cleaning up my wife and I did. They fixed the inverter issue, but still left drywall shavings on the ground, fixed the layout of the solar panels, but STILL did it wrong and illegally placed the panels too close to the edge of the roof, STILL left the same tools on my property and didn’t clean up. Round three: They still haven’t painted the conduit. They still didn’t fix the broken roof tiles. The layout is still not exact to the planned layout. Round four: They sent a roofer to my house and that roofer accomplished nothing at all. Every single broken tile I had before, I still have. And that roofer is gone and haven’t heard from them since. Round five: I had to contact universal solar direct again about nothing being done to the roof. The roofers came and fixed the broken tiles and left. Then, once I got back home and inspected, there are still broken tiles and pieces of broken tile on my roof. Round six: Roofers never showed, twice. Round seven: Roofer showed up, but nothing can be done because the damaged tiles are underneath the panels. Also, after speaking to the roofer, this has been a constant issue with them on many the houses they do. Round eight: The roofer and installers came today and fixed some of the tiles under the panels, but not all. Once I got notice from the energy company that I’m good to turn the solar panels on; I went to charge my car and I noticed the screws holding the EV charger bracket weren’t even screwed in all the way and the ones that are screwed in are not actually secured in the drywall. Round nine: The manager was able to do whatever to give me access in the inverter app to utilize my EV charger. He also came to my place to replace the previous transmitter on the inverter with a different model. Round ten: A got a call from a guy who was supposed to paint my conduit to match the side of my house on a Monday. He said he would get to the project and finish within 72 hours. That never happened. And then the Monday following I got the same story. Round eleven: The roofer and installers came back to lift up every panel and check for broken roof tiles that they failed to fix the first time. And to rearrange the tiles to the originally proposed layout that they failed to do correctly the first two times. They pulled and replaced the DOZENS of broken tiles. They rearranged solar panels correctly. This goes on for 3 more rounds but I'm not able to fit it all in the review
