Great company
This company did a great job. They walked us step-by-step through the process. They made us feel comfortable and had the system installed in a timely fashion. Highly recommended.

Excellent Experience!!!
So-Cal Solar was reliable, efficient and the installers were beyond professional. Our job was done in under one week and we have not had an electrical bill since installation!

Happy customer
Love my solar panels. I have 12 panels & my first electric bill was 86 cents. If you have high bills this is the way to go. My agent was very informative and still checks in with me. He's great.

Awful Customer Service, Shady Company
Purchased solar panels and solar heating for our pool. Total cost was almost $58,000. We paid $56,000 out of the $58,000 because they promised us it would be completed in about a month. 4 months later, and still not complete, we withheld the final payment of $2000 that was suppose to be paid once the project was complete and inspections were done. The reason why it took 4 months, they do not keep their appointments. What's even worse is they do not cancel the appointment, they just don't bother showing up so you waste your time waiting for them, calling the company to see when they will be there, then someone tells you they will get back to you, and wow 3 hours have passed waiting for them for them not to show up. Over and over and over. Not a joke. Now, our pool heating system they set up was a complete disaster. We actually had to go through the manufacturer for repairs since So Cal Solar doesn't honor their warranty. We also had to do the same for the solar panels even though we were offered some crazy warranty through so cal solar. Once they have your signature on the contract, they drag their feet, they don't show up to their scheduled appointments, they give you the run around when you call saying they can't get a hold of so and so to come out, etc. Our $58,000 panels were under producing what we were promised initially since they were not completely set up correctly. We asked for warranty work to be performed on our new panels. Nope. They refused to come out until we paid the last $2000, even though the panels were not functioning properly. After dealing with this shady company for 4 months, we told the company we would not pay the last 3 percent until they came out and did a final walk through and ran numbers which showed how much the panels were under producing compared to what they promised. Instead of fixing the problem, they decided to put a mechanics lien on our home that had to be removed through a court proceeding. Yeah we won the court decision, and the judge awarded us money, but guess what, this business refuses to pay what the courts awarded us! We are working now to have their license suspended through California Contractors State License Board and also filing a claim on their surety bond.

Was told a lie about going Solar and Government tax credit
I went with So-Cal Solar Inc. 9month for the fact that it was owned by my friends brother. So I said, why not. Spoke with them and sure enough I was sold a dream. I purchased a 5100 watt system for 20k(yes expensive). Now this is how I was (lied) misled to about the GOVERNMENT ENERGY TAX CREDIT which "Sold" me on purchasing the solar. I was told I would receive 33% back of the cost of the system which is 6600, now with that money, your going to put back into the system, now the system comes out to $13,400 win-win for everyone, since you can buy the system cash for 9k. I said Great. Well, did my taxes and where is this $6,600 tax credit that I was told I would receive on top on my normal return. Unfortunately Since I claim children like most single family homes do, that credit doesn't help much when your Kids maximizes your tax credit alone. So I spoke with them, and basically was told I was out of luck, don't claim your kids next year and you "should" get the money than. So now, I have pull from my saving to pay $4200 towards the system, if not my mortgage goes from 1300-1900. Now why is that. Because, Yes you are owning the system, but the loan of the system merges with your home loan, thus creating the increase, that at least they did disclose correctly that my mortage would go up 1500, but since there's no tax credit it's increasing to 1900. Now let's talk about the Energy Saving the solar does for you. Since I went with a large system I had to sign contract with So-Cal Edison because on paper the system would generated $740 worth of electricity a month. This is what So-Cal Solar pitches to you, that the system literally pays itself. WRONG. About 2 months later, I received a letter stating it would only generate $640 and anything I don't use would be credited to me. Cool, I'm not sweating $100 bucks. Now how is it that no one is home for 8 hours and I still have a bill every month. small bill of $26 dollars but keep in mind my normal bill was only $70 bucks. Now you say why go solar if your bill is only $70. I am a cannabis patient, going solar meant I could grow my own meds without leaving my home, WRONG. Some how, the system doesn't generate enough electricity in the Antelope Valley, that my bill was outrages, shut that operation down immediately and went back to Dispensaries. I can go on and on about the promises I was given and nothing has been delivered. I want to help people to learn from my mistake. If they Treat close people like this, how will they treat a complete stranger. What makes it worse the system I bought at 20k was sold to another person for $17,500. Yeah Ouch.
