Completely Satisfied so far
I chose Off Grid by Design because they are a small family owned business and were cheaper than big box retailers and installers. Charles and his son Chris installed a 8.6kw system for me that has already begun paying for itself. We went live December 5th 2019 and by February 2020, my utility bill is already down to $7.98. They also installed a Sense Energy Monitor which has been very useful in helping me find appliances that draw power when not in use and also tracks how much we generate per hour/day/bill. I will likely be contacting them again to expand once our new garage and pool are built. Charles is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about solar and Chris’s work ethic is second to none. Thanks Guys. I really appreciate your work.

Poor follow through
I went with this company because I liked the fact that it was a small family company that had been in business for a while. The owner, Charles, seemed to really know solar and was excited to be in the business. Once the contract was signed and he had the large down payment, he disappeared. He was bad at returning calls, and worse at showing up when he said he would. During the installation, the panel installers had no knowledge of electricity and the electrician did not know much about the panels. A year later, I still have two panels that were supposed to make my barn off-grid that have never worked. I got many promises to fix it, but have heard nothing at all in several months.
