We wanted to sign up with a local solar company and GSS didn’t disappoint! From sales to support to technical, everyone at GSS was helpful and impressed us with their professionalism and prompt support - and actually completed the install ahead of their estimated date! Our system is running flawlessly!

We did a fairly large residential roof mounted solar array (placed on our barn). Our experience was top notch from beginning to end. Andy Spiegel was my first contact. It was clear he was extremely knowledgeable and spent a lot of time discussing the pluses and minuses of different approaches. He also carefully assessed the structure of the barn to ensure structural integrity. We then worked with Zach, who was the project manager for our project. He came to assess the best way to get get the solar power from the barn to our home, about 80 feet away. He was meticulous in his approach and answered all of my questions thoroughly. The actual project took 2 days, involving trenching and instillation of the array. The installation team was very attentive not only to the mechanical aspects of the installation, but also made fine adjustments to the physical positioning of the panels to make sure that the array would look good from afar, given that our old (but very well built) barn was certainly not completely "straight". They were extremely meticulous, asking me also to look at the array for my input. Zach came back again within a few days after installation, having arrange for the required town electrical inspection. All was good to go. These folks did an excellent job on the install, in and out in two days and everything handled very professionally. The system has been working for us for a couple of years now with no problems at all and is exceeding our expectations. The system was designed to match our average energy usage and it is doing exactly that. We enjoy our $12 monthly electric bill (that is the connection charge that Eversource charges us) and are actually running an energy credit with them as we are generating slightly more power than we are using.

I started looking at rooftop solar panel installations in January (for reference, it is currently May). They’ve been dropping in price so much lately that I figured it was time to see just how much money they could actually save (don’t worry, I’ll answer this for you at the end). I contacted a few of the highly-rated companies out there for quotes and consultations, GSS being one of them. After speaking with them all and comparing their offers, their online reviews and the behavior of the associates they sent out to my house, I decided to go with GSS. The rest of the review is my story working with them but if you want the summary: these guys are an incredibly professional team that really know their stuff and work with you every step of the way. I have zero regrets about choosing them and I would absolutely recommend them to everybody looking to go solar. Here are the details about my experience with them. I called GSS up and explained my situation: “I’m interested in rooftop solar, I have some electric cars that eat a ton of power and I want to charge them with renewable energy so I need a pretty big array.” Eric Kilens was the rep that responded to my call. He came out and took some standard measurements; roof size, angle, azimuth, tree cover… the usual stuff. That took all of twenty minutes. He then proceeded to stick around and talk to me for an extra half hour about the whole process, the technology behind solar, the net metering policies in New Hampshire, electric vehicles, and just about every other relevant topic that came up. I’m the kind of guy that wants to know everything that’s going on and he was more than happy to answer. This extended past the initial consult because after each company got in touch with me I proceeded to flood their inboxes with more questions. Eric was the only one that didn’t eventually get fed up with me. He responded quickly to each one – usually that same day or the day after. If he didn’t know the answer, then he knew who to ask. He got me in touch with other experts at GSS who traditionally work behind-the-scenes like Alec the warehouse manager or Erik (with a K), one of the owners, when I had detailed questions about panel specs or inverter choices. Eric and I went back and forth quite a bit about array design, number of panels, brand, power rating, and even the microinverter size to go with them. It wasn’t just a “here’s what we’re going to do, take it or leave it” kind of situation… the whole team was very flexible and accommodating, even if I made unusual requests that went against their typical installations. To give you some perspective, we started the paperwork in February and we were still making changes to the plan in mid-April as new technology became available and replaced the old stuff. Eric, Tanya and Emily were always very courteous and cheerful when taking my questions and requests. This was especially appreciated during the permitting and paperwork review processes. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, but you have to get a lot of people to sign off on a solar installation before you can actually install it. These guys held my hand through the whole process though. They kept me up-to-date every day on who would be showing up to inspect which parts of my house and what that meant for the project. They took care of all the coordination between the town inspector, the utility company, and the PUC for the state tax credit. I know it was a lot of work, but I never had to deal with it. They did it all. After three months of preparation, the permits were finally in place and the parts we decided on had arrived. Now, my setup involved 14.4 kW of power from 48 panels in six rows across two roofs. GSS brought a team of five to my house and they managed to put the whole array together in a day and a half. These guys were just as polite and respectful as the staff I’d been coordinating with so far. The installation crew has been in the game for a while and they are masters of their respective trades – that much I gathered right away – but what really surprised me is how well they worked together as a team. They kept communication constant, they didn’t argue about anything, and they had a rhythm to their work so they all finished the important parts at the same time. I shadowed them throughout the whole process, asking questions about what they were doing and why they decided to go with one technique over another. Each one seemed happy that I was taking an interest in their work instead of just leaving them alone. I learned about electrical engineering from Phil and Troy, mounting rail construction from Nate and Brandon, the microinverter map from Darren, and panel laying from Jake and Zach on the second day. Not only that, but they told me the company’s story and a bit about their team dynamics as well. GSS is a fairly small team compared to most companies, so they have a very important advantage: they all know each other personally as friends instead of just colleagues. That was pretty apparently when I saw how they worked together, but hearing them say it was a key value of the company really made it clear. These guys are a tight-knit team, and they all believe in the mission. This is definitely the crew you want doing your solar installation. Eric told me early on that GSS aims to “under-promise and over-deliver”. Well, my array has been active for about two weeks now and I can confidently say that they pulled that off. The panels take care of all of my power needs and they ended up costing about $100 per month less than my old power bill. These guys started saving me money the moment the array got switched on. My roof is beautiful and slick, it’s generating more than enough to power our home and our cars, and I learned a ridiculous amount of stuff about the world of solar throughout the journey. GSS made it the experience an absolute pleasure. I strongly recommend them to anyone that wants to look at getting a solar installation.

I can't express how happy we are that we made the switch to solar using Granite State Solar. From the very beginning, GSS was great. Andy was our salesman and we felt immediately comfortable working with him. We interviewed 4 different companies and the other 3 seemed to focus more on us signing with them rather than informing us about solar. Andy was the only salesman to take measurements, check the basement electrical panel and go up in the attic to look at the rafters. Other companies would tell us one thing and then write up something different in their quote. I was able to reach Andy by phone to answer any questions we had before making our decision. He was great, as he answered everything....and we had a lot of questions! Install day came and 4 guys came and explained everything as they were doing it. Everyone was polite and courteous and workmanship was great. I do not have wires running down the side of my house, like I see at others. The panels look great on the house...my wife was very worried about that, and she likes them. Andy came back for a final walk through and showed us everything. I still text questions to him and he answers right away. The last text I sent was that our 1st bill from eversource came in....just $13...the customer fee. This was Feb/March when the sun was not the greatest. We have since generated over 800 kwhrs above what we have used. If you are going solar, Granite State Solar is the company to use. You will get honesty.

Our panels are working as expected generating a good amount of electricity for our use. GSS workers were fantastic,efficient, pleasant, hard working. We appreciate their flexibility working around a family event. Would go with them again.

The entire process proceeded as planned for the entire process. No hitches. Any questions were immediately addressed by the staff in the home office. The installation was completed in 1 day! The installers were professional, courteous, and answered my questions without hesitation.

NH Solar Up Program - GSS services has been superb in every aspects from proposal discussion, permit acquisition, actual installation, inspections to final walk through. The performance of this roof-top system speaks for itself now that it is turned ON.

[I installed solar with GSS via the Londonderry, NH SolarUp program] I had on-site consultations with at least two other providers over the past couple years and ended up not pulling the trigger for various reasons. The whole process with GSS was efficient and effortless. Eric acknowledged that I had done a bit of my own research from the beginning and didn't try to sell me but instead answered all my questions, technical or not, and made me comfortable with how GSS operates and the costs of owning the panels. He didn't assume I knew everything (I don't) and still filled me in on the basics when I needed it. In addition to his suggested amount of panels for our usage he humbled me with a couple other options so I could understand price differences. He was always on-time (usually calling and asking if we could meet early) and was able to get on-site to meet with me within a day at most. After the sale Eric helped me understand the meters and worked with Tanya to make sure all my paperwork was lined up for rebates & tax incentives. Nate, Mike & the rest of the install team were kind and professional, and ended up needing to get access to an area of my attic for the install that was closed off by the original builder. They handled it without an issue, cleaned up after themselves and all wiring/conduit/etc was installed very cleanly. Nate kept me up to date on what they were doing throughout the install and reorganized the mounting space by my breaker panel so it all could fit and look clean. At the end of the day GSS did a great job and I'd highly recommend their services. Although I hope I don't have any issues with my panels or inverters I have high confidence that GSS will be just as professional with maintenance as they were for whole sales & install process. I'm just crossing my fingers that our new POTUS doesn't do anything to prevent me from getting my tax incentives when I file in 2017.

Everyone I interacted with was very professional and courteous. Both our sales person (Ryan) and the crew were very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. The installation turned out better than I ever could have hoped! The craftsmanship is evident just looking at it! I highly recommend GSS to anyone looking to go solar.

First off I would like to thank Granite State Solar for the professionalism they showed right from the start when Andy showed up to go over a quote. I had been looking at installing solar for a little while and had gotten quotes from about 6 other companies. My wife and I had decided after seeing these quotes that we would wait until spring, but I still had one last quote that we had not heard from but I had scheduled them to come out. That was Granite State Solar. After talking with Andy he explained a lot of the things that I have heard and already new about solar. He did talk about something that I had not heard from the other companies was about the REC that I would get by owning the array. With everything that I had researched and with all the other quotes that I had received my wife and I for one like the way that Andy had presented the information and two thought that the Granite State Solar deal worked really well for us. I would say that GSS was not the cheapest and not the most expensive but they were on par with the other good quotes that we received. I think the factor that I like was that GSS was using better panels than the other companies. Like I said start to finish GSS did a professional job. When the installation crew showed up they where very friendly, polite and professional. We had talked about a little design change from the initial design. The design change was made to optimize the use of the solar array. The crew did an excellent job and would have had it all done in one day but it started to rain. They had to come back for a second day just to put the panels up. I think the only things that slowed the process down were trying to schedule installation when I was off of work, it would have been installed a week earlier but I had to work so that is on me. The second was the rain that came on installation day. Other than that everything when very smoothly. If you are in the market for installing solar panels and want a company that will be very professional in every aspect of the job than you should call Granite State Solar.

Solar Tracker has no impact on my home as far as added roof loading. The Tracker capitalizes on peak performance whenever the sun is shining and I can produce more electricity than I can use. I can be even more self sufficient than I already am. GSS has a great team with top equipment and a great product.

When I decided to get a solar quote I contacted several local companies. Eric was the first to respond and come for a site visit. Once we moved forward with GSS, Tanya laid out the process and what was required from us. I’m a project manager myself and I can say that I was very impressed at how well my array’s install was managed. The only speedbump we had was an opening in the schedule that allowed them to move my install ahead (at our option). The installation staff was very courteous and professional and was respectful of our home. All the permitting and paperwork was handled by GSS like clockwork. Our array has been running for a few months and our last two electrical bills have been under $15! I would with no question use GSS again for a solar array install.

I am very happy to report that I have had a very good experience with Granite State Solar so far. The entire process from quote to install went very smoothly and faster than I initially anticipated. They took care of just about everything. The installers were great: very polite and friendly and considerate of our house and property. They handled my phone calls professionally and were able to answer questions quickly. We went with a 34 panel 320W SunPower micro inverter roof-mounted system. I have rated GSS with 5 stars even though we have just started monitoring our array, so time will tell if it performs as quoted. I would recommend GSS for your solar install.

I really liked working with Granite State Solar. There were a fair amount of steps to this process. And, not all the steps deal with things that everyday home owners are familair with (net metering, renewable energy credits). But, starting with the presentation we attended at the Weare Middle School to the final inspection, GSS was great. They explained things very well and did not mind repeating the more complicated concepts more than once. They do a lot of the work for you. Our action items were easy. I highly recommend them.

Rating GSS five stars is easy - they earned it! The on site crew of Darren, Nate, Jake, Chris and Matthew were courteous, hard-working, professional, on time, organized, and respectful. Erik and his staff Justin and Tanya were helpful, prompt, honest and easy to work with. I wish all home improvements could be with this group of people! We're loving the sun power, but found some other 'power' in the whole GSS team!

Granite State Solar was professional and courteous throughout the process. The quote given was exactly what the final outcome was. We asked them to change the length of the loan and they were able to work with us to get the loan payment adjusted to our long term financial plan. There was a glitch with the monitoring system which was not their fault and they were very honest with what the problems were and stayed with it until it was fixed. The workers were friendly and neat and worked overtime to get the panels on the roof. We have only had the system since June 8, 2016 and so far everything has been great. I would highly recommend this company.

I went with GSS due to the fact they were a local NH company and had better reviews than the national companies I was looking at. From start to finish GSS employee's were excellent. They answered all of my questions no matter how small. Their work crews were on time (or early), clean and professional. The entire process was as easy as it could be. My new system is working exceptionally well (last electric bill was $38) I would highly recommend them for your system.

23 panel system installed by GSS a bit over a month ago. Through the whole process everyone we spoke with was easy to speak to and courteous. We shopped around a bit with other companies but either felt pressured to accept a certain type of financing or pressured to accept a different type of system than what we purchased. GSS talked us through all the options they were able to provide and the benefits of each. In the end we felt much more comfortable going with GSS because they were able to design around our preferences at a great price point. Our installation was performed over two days, inspected and turned on not long after. The installation went very smoothly. All of the work is very clean and professionally finished and there was absolutely no debris left behind anywhere we looked. We just got our solar panels installed on our roof a few weeks ago. We had looked at leasing solar panels, but had a friend recommend this company instead. We found that overall it is much better to purchase the panels than lease them. From start to finish Granite State Solar was fantastic to work with. They were extremely professional. Peter initially came out to go through our options with us and was very knowledgeable about the systems. Tanya did great handling our scheduling when the weather didn't cooperate for our first install date. The installers who came out were all friendly and very efficient. Took a total of 2 days and everything was complete for our install. We would highly recommend this company!

We recently had a 26 panel system installed by GSS. I have to say that we are very pleased with the whole process. A couple of minor glitches were promptly corrected, and the system has since been performing well. We have yet to see our first power bill with the system on line, but we are optimistic that our power bills are ended. If this is something you are able to do, we suggest doing it. And if you have GSS do the work, you won't be disappointed.

I recently purchased solar panels from Granite State Solar and had them install them for me in February of 2016. I must say that the service I received from this company supersedes any other solar panel vendor. I was kept up-to-date on every step during the process. Everything was done on time and the panels were professionally installed. Now that I see my meter running backwards, all I can hear is chin, chin, chin... money in my bank. I highly recommend Granit State Solar to anyone looking to move to Solar Energy. Before choosing Granit State I went through 4 different vendors and only one of them stood out and impressed me with complete honesty and price... that's Granit State Solar. All the other vendors cared about is making the sale and focused mostly on leasing. It makes no sense to lease the panels when you can buy them at a fraction of the price, get government and state refund and own your own system. Overall, I am a very happy customer and can't wait to call Granit State Solar again to expand my solar system should the need arise.

Going solar is something we have talked about for years but never bothered to look into. Candia & Deerfield were having joint town hall meetings on the benefits of solar installations which we wanted to attend but were unable to make. So we got the contact info off one of the GSS signs we saw popping up all over town and had our own private meeting with Erik at our home. Erik was very professional, courteous and punctual. He walked us thru the step by step process of solar conversion to our house which was at a 98 percentile location to the southern exposure. After our meeting with Erik we were sold. We were scheduled for late March early April then we got an e-mail from Tanya asking if they could start a couple weeks earlier. Once the work was scheduled we were in constant contact with either Tanya or Erik. They both were prompt with answering our many, many questions and concerns. Once the actual work began the instal crew were knowledgeable, courteous and professional. On day one of the install it was one of the coldest days in March and day 2 was one of the few days it snowed in March. Those guys froze their butts off but never complained and continued working, we even offered to have them come into the house to warm up but they politely refused and kept on trucking. All in all, we are very happy with our experience with GSS and would recommend them to anyone looking to go solar. I started to research the solar option back in June of 2015.Diligently did my home work for about 4 months before i decided to really look into going Solar.I was into phase # 4 with Solar City,and then WMUR News 9 had a special on October 1st all about going Solar in New Hampshire.So i decided to DVR the special and watch it the following day.I can't tell you how impressed i was with the show.Three days later i made my first call to Granite State Solar, It was a Sunday Morning October 4th.I spoke to one of the owners Alan for a good 30 minutes and got him up to speed on where i was at the time with Solar City, By the time our conversation was finished i said to my wife that's it i am cancelling my contract with Solar City first thing tomorrow morning and we are going to purchase the system using Granite State Solar. She looked at me and "GO FOR IT". From that first phone call to the last visit from one of the installers i can't use the word professionalism enough.From start to finish and all the follow up in between i had no complaints what so ever. I would by far fully recommend Granite State Solar to any Residential home owner or Commercial Business Owner if they are considering going solar.Every employee weather in the office or on the job site was polite,courteous,very well mannered,and extremely professional.I can not say enough about the entire company. After years of researching this industry....I chose Granite State Solar for the installation of our system. My wife and I are thrilled with the experience with them. They were very professional and delivered a excellent job completion. I would HIGHLY recommend them for your solar project.

Just like most people I would guess we started to get mailings from large solar companies trying to get you lease a system. At first it peaked my interest about Solar and cost benefits of a system. After doing some research I quickly realized leasing is not a good option and buying a system was the way to go. I contacted 3 different companies about purchasing a solar system for our home. I was luck to meet Erik of Granit State Solar. He took his time listen to our needs and developing a solution for us. The best part of the buying process was Erik was never push like the other companies we talked to. The other companies just wanted us to sign and give them money. Erik wanted to make sure we were comfortable with what type of panel we choose (LG305) and gave us the time to make the best choice for us. He is the reason we went with Granit Sate solar. I am glad we did choose them the crew that came out to do the instillation was very professional, respectful and if and when we had questions provided us with the answers. They did a beautiful job on the instillation. We could not have been happier with the work they have done thus far. Our System went live November 12, 2015 for the month of November we produced 890kwh of electricity not to bad for this time of year. I will say I am glad we choose Granit State Solar for our project and would highly recommend Erik.

I am completly happy with the whole process by this team. They installed 56 panels/microinverters on my array in one day with a very courteous crew of 8 professionals.

Friendly, knowledgeable and awesome at what they do. I was raised to prefer the superior service of a local company to a national chain and this proved good advice in the case of granite state solar! Prices were competitive with the national chains but the service was incomparably better. Aside from patiently answering our multitude of questions - our solar installation (which we own) was done so well it looks like it belonged on the house from the day it was built. No exposed wires, neatly mounted panels, great service and warranty, full transparency during the whole process - all exactly how we wanted it. Strongly recommend.

It is rare these days to come across a company that keeps all their promises. Our installation went like clockwork, with all milestones and promises kept. Even rarer is to find a company whose entire staff, from salesman, to project manger, to site foreman, to grunts are patient and courteous. They were happy to have me watch them work, ask questions and shoot the breeze.

Was looking last year for a Solar installation company after the Unitil rates went through the roof. Reviewed 2 companies, one being GSS. I have to say these guys know what Customer Service is. I dealt through the entire sales process with Erik, and he was the best to work with. GSS designed our system based upon our yearly electrical usage, and worked with me through the entire sales process, answering numerous calls and Emails. The other company I reviewed looked at one of my electric bills and threw at me a system configuration that would not even meet my electrical needs. When I questioned them on it, they told me to start with this, and if I needed more, they would install more - really !! When companies tell you that they are a complete one stop shop - beware. The other company that I was reviewing (largest in NH) made that exact claim, and then shortly thereafter, started rolling off a complete laundry list of what they didn't cover - what a joke! With GSS their idea of being a one stop shop is just that - they do everything for you from start to finish. Their installers are as professional as they get. They're proud of the work they do - and it shows. They always kept their work area clean, and after they were done, they went out of their way to show me what they had accomplished. I have been intrigued with solar power for decades but thought that the cost might not be recouped quickly enough. Fortunately the capacity and costs have moved in the right direction. Add the current Federal, State, and power company rebates, a net-metered installation becomes basically a "no additional cost" process. Granite State Solar has been a wonderful company to contract to do the work. Our first contact was February 10th. The solar assembly was installed over two days finishing before noon on March 30th. Eversource installed the net-meter on April 3rd after the building inspector signed off. Ben, the sales rep, was very responsive to our requests balancing current needs and increasing electrical demand of switching to electric hot water from current propane fueled boiler. My wife wanted the panel array to "look symmetrical" on the roof, especially since it would be the side facing the road. The final 30 panel array covers are main roof (not the offset portion) with a 2.5 inch margin on both sides! It could not have been designed to fit much better. While reviewing the proposal, there were several technical pieces that did not make sense to me. Some were ones that Ben could not answer. Alan the owner called me directly. He quickly gave me the proper engineering level answers I wanted (yes, I am one of those engineering types). Mostly I felt that Granite State Solar wanted me to be happy and knowledgeable about the system they would install. The panel crew was able to install the system working around the rain. Most importantly, the crew followed all OSHA safety rules while on the roof. At the end of each day, the ground was cleared of any work materials. They were very careful with ladders (our roof was reshingled last year). The electricians routed the wire conduits very discretely. The connections to our main power distribution box was cleanly done. Due to the addition being installed, our electrical service in on a temporary mounting (officially temporary after what was a legal location gable end became a second story). Eversource needs the siding to be completed before moving the service. Granite State Solar worked with Eversource to allow the net-meter to be installed before the electrical service is moved. (The siding goes on in a few weeks after a sunroom arrives and is installed.) When the building inspector came, Shawn, the master electrician, explained the details of the system. He broke the details down and could cite the applicable codes in a knowledgeable and friendly manner. The building inspector was happy with Granite State Solar's work (and my explanation of the temporary electrical service mounting (the building inspector just started recently and is catching up with open permits such as ours). In summary, both my wife and I have been very satisfied with Granite State Solar. They made the entire process from start to finish including the financing go very smoothly. We had the additional situation of a temporary electrical service drop. They are very professional in every step. We have both recommended them to friends and coworkers.

The presentation that explained this system to us was good, but the most impressive thing I found was that the installation crew was as professional as anyone could hope for. These guys were always polite, and I never had to worry about a construction crew at my home where we happened to have two college age daughters home for spring break. The crew was fantastic, and I love checking the meter to watch that electric bill roll backwards every day. These guys are great.

We would highly recommend Granite State Solar. The material and cost was as quoted, the product is of high quality, and all the paperwork from start to finish, including paperwork for incentive rebate, was handled by Granite State Solar. In the first two months of our use, even in the shortest daylight hours of November and December, we have seen our kw hours decrease and even sold power back to the utility company. What a pleasure dealing with Granite State Solar! We were always interested in adding solar panels, but thought the cost and installation would be too much. Granite State Solar was a pleasure to work with. The installation was nice and tidy. The crew was very pleasant and courteous.
