Wouldn't Change A Thing!!!!

This company, Freedom Solar, Inc., is one of the best contractors I have ever used. No pressure, no gimmicks, no upsell, no problems....just a great experience with a really great staff. If I could change one thing about my business deal with them, I would have done it sooner. These three brothers are a true pleasure to work with. Kinda renews my faith in good old-fashioned business practices. Handshake goes a long ways with me and I know it matters to Freedom Solar, Inc as well. Thank you!!!!!

Bait and switch scam!

I was provided false information regarding the solar systems capabilities and tax incentive by this entire company from sales Roger Langley to VP Sean McDougall and the owner Daniel Rogers. After being contracted for 4 months and hours from installation completion. I'm told by the owner I had 1 hour to make a decision to pay an additional $12K if I want the entire home to be covered by the installed PV solar system and backup battery. The installed system shows im producing and exporting more energy than Im consuming, yet there is still a utility bill plus the daily service fee from the utility company. The real kicker is the tax incentive, they actually built my loan terms around the false tax information they provided, then respond with "were not tax experts". Completely appalled by the owners response or lack thereof and seeking legal counsel currently.

Reply from Freedom Solar Inc: Im sorry you feel this way. I have responded to emails very promptly, and been transparent with you about everything. you told my sales rep you just wanted to back up the well and critical loads such asa well, the computer and internet because you work from home. After the conversation you signed a contract that you were charged for one battery, you later said you were not happy due to not being able to run the air conditioner during power outages. I Advised you I would install an additional battery at my cost if that would help but I could not give you a $10,000 battery for free. Over the last 5 months your excess charges from the power company totaled $126.00 which will even out during over production months coming up which I explained while also mailing a check for $126.00 to cover it. the system production is based off of 12 month cycle and can't be based on 5 months during shorter low production days. in each proposal it provides graphs that show previous usage and estimated production for the 12 months which you received as well. As far as the tax credit you would have qualified for the entire amount but you purchased an electric vehicle after the solar was installed which obviously increased your power consumption which we were not factoring in. At that point you now were trying to claim a solar tax credit on top of the electric vehicle tax credit and thats why you did not get the entire amount this year. You will still get the remaining tax credit balance next year to apply to your taxes. You asked me to install a $10,000 battery for free and write a check for $14,800 for the full amount of the tax credit, while you also claimed it partially this year and the balance the next, so to ask for $28,000 dollars is extreme and unrealistic. it was only 55,000 total cost and 8,000 was the custom pergola you wanted. Basically you were asking for a free system with an added battery while also benefiting from the tax credit. The utility bills from Seco you provided have a service charge of $1.00 per day no matter what that you knew about so anything over the daily charge is your actual cost for the month. you sent bills over with a complaint from June and the system wasn't installed until July, and The bi-directional meter was not installed until 8-26-22 by Seco so you would not have seen credits until then. You also did not receive a bill from the loan company until September so the electric bill and solar loan payment didn't overlap. Your first electric bill was $7.63 in September. We always encourage individuals to contact their CPA for guidance on tax credit usage.
