Exact Solar

Quick, Professional and Unobtrusive!

Installation was done in one day. Mark explained how it works very effectively. The system heats the pool about 5 degrees per sunny day. We prefer to deal with local professionals and locally owned franchisees, and Marc and Dara's company certainly fulfilled our expectations. We couldn't be happier. Given that the sun's energy is free, I think the pay-back will be three seasons or less. My neighbors have, and continue to expect that their gas heater will cost $1,200/year excluding installation which was about the same as ours.

Home Solar Panel Installation

Mark and his team from Exact Solar is very knowledgeable and was very professional during the entire process starting from the design to the final installation. The system has been working very well for the last one year and the overall experience of working with Mark and his team has been great !

Awesome energy savings

My wife and I purchased a large solar panel system and a high efficiency hot water heater from Exact Solar about a year ago. We are extremely satisfied with the both systems. It is what Mark said it was gonna be and then some. There's a decent amount of money to put out up front for material and labor but were getiing it back faster than we anticipated. Instant savings on our bill ( actually no bill for 8 months) SREC's selling higher than anticipated and also a huge tax return. We REAIIY like the system and highly recommend Exaxt Solar.

Phenomonal Customer Service, clean install, great PARTNER!

My experience with Exact Solar was overall fantastic! From the first discussions and interactions with Dara, down to the guys installing the panels and Mark providing updates through the entire process and right up to turning over the 'keys' at the end...great job! Regarding initial financials and paperwork, Dara provided great support and a lot of options to consider. Exact Solar really wants to work with you and demonstrates that through their flexibility and commitment to clients 'going solar'. The permit, site work and final inspections were so smooth... Mark took care of everything! The install was great, the guys who did the work were efficient, clean (and cleaned up after themselves) and were in and out, even though it was a bigger job. Overall, very happy with Exact Solar and I've recommended them to my friends and family.

Excellent experience

This process took longer than I expected, but only because of the many steps involved. At every step of the way Mark and Dara Bortman were available to explain things to me. They were prompt with quotes, the work was done well and on schedule and they were able to work around my cluttered basement to install the necessary equipment. After all was said and done Dara went out of her way to explain to me the quirks of PSE&G's billing and Mark to help me choose and set up the sale of my SRECS. I appreciated the seamless customer service.

Excellent service all the way.

Exact Solar run by Mark and Dara Bortman have been a pleasure to work with. Mark and his crew came when scheduled, installed the panels without problems even though there was a downpour at times, and left with everything working and clean. Since installation they have continue to be helpful, scheduling PECO to install new meters, helping us find a company to purchase our production, and helping me try to understand the PECO billing system and how our energy usage works. They even were willing to help me to put to rest my worries (incorrect worries) that somehow PECO had us using more energy than we possibly could. I cannot say enough good things about their work and their business model. Excellent service all the way.

Exactly Suntastic!

Needed service for an exsisting solar ground array. Installing company closed its doors shortly after completion leaving me without an option for potentially needed service. Exact Solar from the beginning was prompt, and as their name implies,....EXACT. From response to probable diagnosis of problem to solution was 1 week....problem solved, and at a responsible cost. I fully understand how Exact Solar gets high marks on Angie's list and Google reviews. They are a family run company that cares about your Solar needs and were professional and responsive to a fault! I cannot recommend them enough

Great experience

I strongly recommend Exact Solar. They were great to work with. The entire process was easy and Dara and Mark are great!

Mr

operating since December 2011, completely satisfied with the quality of the work and the entire process. Mark and Dana are a pleasure to work with.

Fantastic

Marc and Dara and the team at Exact are complete professionals. They gave a competitive quote, installed in a timely manner and pool has never been better. The solar/ increase in pool temperature has increased our pool usage and we will never have to pay to heat our pool again! Our experience was wonderful. I would absolutely work with them again and recommend them to anyone!

Fantastic Experience

First of all, I am a researcher by nature, so I did a lot of research and met with representatives of different solar installers before deciding to move forward with Exact Solar. This includes the big ones such as Solar City and NRG and the smaller companies. From the very beginning of my discussions with Mark and Dara at Exact Solar, I knew they were different. They didn't seem to force us into a lease, a PPA, or to buy, but instead laid out our options and explained the pros and cons of each. We decided to purchase using the PSEG solar loan program and federal tax rebate to offset the cost. Mark was incredibly helpful in steering us through the paperwork and ensuring the project remained on track. He made going solar so much easier, taking the onus off of us. I am so appreciative! Now that the panels are installed, I can also say the workmanship seems to be impeccable. Mark and the team clearly know what they are doing as well as being super great to work with. I recommend them very highly. Again, I did months of research on solar companies.

Excellent Solar Partner !

Exact Solar was responsive, professional, accurate , on-time, and a general great organization to work with. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to install a solar system. They were very helpful with the complicated SREC system.

Superb Service

I contacted Exact Solar for a quote in early 2014. They came to my house, discussed different options, benefits of adding solar to my property and listened to my questions/concerns. I received quotes from other firms for the same type of system and not only was Exact Solar the least expensive, they provided the best service. Exact Solar took care of all the permits, approvals, etc. that were required but kept me informed of the progress throughout the process. Installation was quick, clean and efficient taking only a couple of days total. Not only would I recommend Exact Solar to anyone looking to add this to their property, I will be using them in the future to expand my current system!

Delivered Exactly as Promised

Exact Solar delivered on time and on budget. The panels have been delivering as estimated with the exception of a few weeks this winter due to the snowy and overcast weather. Dara and Mark were and continue to be responsive to any of my questions.

very pleasant to deal with, i'm happy

Mark and Dara are a pleasure to deal with. Although it took a while to get the system installed (they've got a backlog), I've had zero problems. Professional installation, and if you have any questions, you can call them up or email them (and they respond very quickly!). They even check in with you six months after installation.

Less talk, professional and nice demeanor, timely and profession

I don't consider myself as an "easy" customer. Especially when it comes to such a highly technical project with big expense. I wanted exact details with cost breakdown at component level, wanted to pay the least possible price, get the best hardware and a long warranty. Mark stayed unfazed with ALL my questions, got me the details per my request, and agreed to the price I wanted to pay for the hardware I asked for. It left him with not very high margins but he had committed to earn my business and came through. I had taken quotes from more than 20 other solar installers prior to Mark and none of them gave me the details and price I wanted. Few even felt insulted and became outrageous at my "preposterous and unreal" expectations. I knew what I was asking for and had good reason (with proper details) for the price I wanted to pay. I did my research very well before getting onboard the solar bandwagon. Recommendation for anyone considering Solar Electric system in NJ : Get yourself educated about how a solar system works, what does SREC mean and its value and potential value in future. Learn all the financing options. I personally recommend against any "lease" option. Ask for detailed proposal including panel layout diagram, list of hardware to be used, warranty from manufacturer as well as installer. Take a few proposals and compare them well. Remove all the noise about financial benefits etc. Try to see what you r paying and what exactly u r getting for it. Financial jugglery will be same for them all. Dont : Do not go with the "first buy u meet in HomeDepot/Lowes" Do not just sign up with the first guy who will knock your door or send you a postcard in mail.

My Solar Adventure (or my battle with carbon)

My wife and I were considering a backup electrical source after hurricane Sandy knocked out our electricity for 3 or 4 days. After looking at a whole house generator we decided invest just a few more dollars and get something more sustainable, and ultimately more economical. We decided to install solar electric with a 2 to 4 day backup supply from battery power. I contacted 3 or 4 solar contractors. Exact Solar was the one I chose for multiple reasons, but the main thing was I was very happy with Marks responsiveness. I had contacted other contractors who just looked at my property on Google Earth and decided not to bother with a quote, even after I told them the picture on Google was out of date. Mark made the effort and we are now enjoying a non existent electric bill. The job was scheduled around my needs and done within my somewhat limited window of available time. The final installation is very impressive.

Installation of Solar Heating System for Swimming Pool

Mark Bortman of Exact Solar installed a solar heating system for our swimming pool. The work was professionally done and of excellent quality.

Residential Solar System with 100+ Roof Mounted Panels

Really pleased with the excellent service and high quality of Exact Solar. Mark and Dara could not be any easier to do business with and I would highly recommend them for any of your solar needs. They provided a personal touch throughout the entire process unlike the other solar vendors I contacted, who simply want to pigeon hole you into one of their pre-packaged solutions regardless of your unique needs or goals. Exact Solar handled everything including permits and paperwork. They performed the work in a professional and craftsman like manner and respected the fact that they were working at someone's home in terms of cleanliness and consideration. I had researched a number of local and national solar installers (including the ones that everyone has heard about) and Exact Solar's price point was ultra-competitive (incredibly some of the firms were quoting more than DOUBLE the cost). If you are lucky enough to live in their catchment area, I cannot recommend Exact Solar highly enough for any of your residential solar needs. They may not be the biggest solar installers in the country, but they are by far the best!

They made it easy! We are so pleased!

We had been considering adding solar to our roof for some time, and wanted to work with a local family owned business. Mark at Exact Solar was the first person we contacted and he very patiently explained the way the system worked and the instalation process. He made time to meet us in the evening, worked with the electric company, installed the online monitoring equipment and took care of all the state rebate paperwork. We also love the online monitoring program and how the system is entirely maintenence free. Solar panels have saved us over $1200 in electric charges this first year! I enjoy sunny days even more now knowing that we are getting free energy from the sun!

Knowledgeable and prompt service

Exact Solar did some work on our existing solar panels. After installing a new roof, we decided to place our panels in the yard rather than back onto the roof. Mark was very helpful and knowledgeable in providing options, locations and pricing for the installation. The work was done efficiently and we are really pleased with the result. I wish we would have gone with Mark for the initial purchase and installation. Highly recommend.

I love my solar panels

I have a "complex" roof (ie multiple surface areas) and stone-coated steel rather than asphalt shingles. Most solar contractors would not even consider installing panels on my roof. Exact Solar was willing to work with me. They contacted the manufacturer of my shingles to make sure that the installation of solar panels did not void my 50-year warranty. They installed panels on 6 different roof areas. The work was done on schedule and after almost one year, the estimate of yearly power production is very close to what we are actually generating. Exact Solar explained how the panels work, set up online tracking, and arranged for periodic selling of SRECs. I highly recommend Exact Solar for anyone considering solar panels.

Solid Work

Working with Exact Solar was a seamless and pleasant experience. The finances, government credits, installation, and operations were all well explained up front. They made it easy. We are very happy with the outcome.

Simply the Best

It is always great to support a family owned business, but when that business is Exact Solar, you just can't go wrong! They were amazing, gave us everything we needed to know. Sales process was super easy, they delivered everything exactly as promised. Our electric bills are now SO small just like they told us the would be. Best decision we ever made. One additional note, Exact Solar's after sales support is even better than their sales and installation. We have had a few questions, they are always VERY responsive. There was even a problem with one of our panels which they noted through the monitoring system and they called us to say they would be out to fix it. I don't often write reviews on-line but in this case I wanted to be sure the work was out there. I would HIGHLY recommend this company.

Great Investment

Installing a solar pool heating system from Exact Solar was a great decision. We no longer need to use the propane pool heating system. The installation went smoothly and completed as scheduled. We have had no problems with the system after a year of operation.
