First i wanted to thank Michael Craig who was the main raison for me to go with Edge Energy! I’m very pleased with my experience with this company and definitely recommend it to anyone who is thinking of going solar, the process was so smooth and they were able to fulfill all my needs and get the project done in a short time! Not talking about the good communication and the quality of the job done which was outstanding!! I’m a hard person to satisfy but Edge Energy’s team was professional and you can feel it, and i’m not only talking about the sales people or the office people, but i’m also talking about the roofers, the installers, the inspectors and even the electrician! Keep up the good work and thank you for everything!!!

I'm so glad I chose Edge Energy to install my Sunpower panels. The panels and their high capacity microinverters are top notch and at a good price. The installation was professional and well done. And when minor problems arise, they responded right away, even repairing some pre- existing issues at no cost. Their customer service is outstanding. They indicated they could probably get all the permits, installation, inspection, utility hookup and system turn on by Thanksgiving. Today is the day before Thanksgiving 2023 and my system is providing my home power and sending power back to the grid. Great work Edge Energy

Edge Energy recently installed a 10.8KW solar array with a SunVault battery backup in our home in Alexandria. We are very pleased with their work. The office kept us well informed in advance of the installation, and the work crew was hard working, professional, and respectful. The solar panels were installed on our rear roof on day 1. The work on day 2 and 3 was in the basement to run the cables and install the Hub and SunVault. Our installation was a little more complicated because we wanted an internal conduit run from the attic to the basement, and the electrical service panel was across the basement from the unfinished area where the Hub and SunVault were placed. Edge was very good about working with us to do the installation the way we wanted it. They also informed us of when the power would be out while they wired the backup circuits. After the installation was complete, an Edge rep came to the house to get everything ready for the Fairfax County inspector, and quality of our system impressed the inspector. While waiting for the inspector, the Edge rep answered all my questions about the system’s operation. The only downside is waiting for Dominion to install the new net-meter, which is out of the control of the solar installers. Edge is a SunPower dealer, and SunPower makes one of the best panels on the market. You may be able to get a somewhat less expensive solar system from other contractors, but you can’t go wrong on service with Edge Energy. So far, the system is performing above expectations for solar production, and the battery backup works seamlessly to power designated critical circuits when the grid goes out. We also love the phone app that come as with the system, which provides several useful displays with information on the status of the system and the power production, as well as the status of the backup battery. Very pleased with both having solar power and going with Edge Energy!

We had our original solar system installed prior to the pandemic and were completely satisfied with the entire experience. The installation went smoothly, the people were lovely to deal with, and the system worked great. The installation team was incredibly respectful and well-mannered in our home, which we all appreciated! After the pandemic hit, we needed additional panels and contacted Edge to install more since we had such a great first experience. It was NOT a fluke! We had a fantastic second experience as well from the sales person (Tony) to his installation crew. We cannot recommend them enough. They look nice on our home and are feeding energy to us and back to the grid like a champ. Those $0 energy bills are incredibly rewarding!

We had a good experience with EDGE on our solar array installation. They provided multiple options from which to select, talked through our extensive questions about each, and moved quickly once we agreed on a plan. When hiccups came up, the team handled them well and were very responsive. Mike, Casey, and Henri all really helped make the process go smoothly.

I recently had EDGE Energy install SunPower solar panels and SunVault backup battery at our home. They did a fantastic job. We are now paying essentially nothing for electricity! Their staff was knowledge and very courteous. Did everything as promised for the proposed price. Even connected us with a broker that provides Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SREC) which is a bonus that we did not expect. Highly recommend them!

So far my experience with Edge Energy has been first rate. The salesperson Roland was great to work with and took the time to answer all of my questions and concerns. Our panels have now been installed and the whole process has been a breeze. The entire Edge team, including the Ops team and the installers, has been a pleasure to work with — they are all just genuinely nice people. Next step is final inspections and the green light to flip the on switch — can’t wait!

I had a new roof installed, 15.6 kW of Solar installed with a SunPower SunVault backup battery. Everything looks and functions great! Edge Energy was responsive in providing estimates and options and the people who did the work were professional and detail-oriented.

Super planning. Installation was without a hitch. We like the integrated approach (all components from same source). Edge monitors our system and let's us know when there's an issue. Highly recommended!!

We have been generally very happy with our Edge install. We got estimates from multiple solar vendors and ultimately went with Edge largely because of the warranty. The installation process was easy. The main complaint i have is that the installers do not patch the holes made during installation. We had about 7 holes in our drywall (averaging 8 inches on a side) where they had to fish wiring. There were also a couple of places where they had to punch through an external wall. Oddly they sealed all those external holes, but not the drywall holes. So we had to pay a couple hundred dollars to a contractor we found to patch the drywall. The installers offered to patch the holes and we said yes, but then they did nothing. I realize in retrospect that they may have been hinting that it was an additional service we would pay directly to them. By default the installation should fix any associated damage. Post-install, things have been good. There were a couple of minor administrative and technical glitches that were promptly fixed. Overall we are happy with Edge.

I needed a repair/rebuild of my solar panel system, and after having a number of companies turn me down, I somehow stumbled onto Edge.

Edge Energy has installed solar power system on three houses that I own. In each case, they did an outstanding job. Their crew is experienced and work very hard. They were very careful with my property and involved me in decision making when options were available. If you want the best, go with Edge Energy and Sunpower.

The solar panels are helpful during sunny weather to reduce my electric energy costs. However, I do wonder if the panels could have been set at a greater angle rather than follow the existing low-slope roofline to collect solar energy.

It was a referral that lead to an exceptional service relationship. Edge Energy’s team was nice, knowledge and timely when installing my Solar Panels. Their team made sure I knew what to expect and kept me informed.

Initially, I thought Edge was selling a premium priced system, but after consideration of all aspects especially integrated converters and long term (25 yr) guarantees we decided to go with them. We have not been disappointed. We're sending power back to the grid every sunny day.

EDGE Energy installed 22KW system on our new home. I must say, they are extremely detail oriented folks. They were very transparent about the whole process. When one of the micro inverters went bad and the team promptly replaced it. They have a passion for the green energy! They always addressed to my, frequently stupid, questions. When I was looking for other installers, none of them were as clear or prompt in their responses to request for quotes. There was a small incident which resulted in a small damage by one of the EDGE Energy workers to the roof trim. EDGE Energy promptly paid for the repairs. The point is, accidents can happen even to the best of us. What counts is if we take responsibility for the mishaps. EDGE Energy took responsibility for the small accident. They are just a pleasure to work with.

EDGE Energy did an excellent job with my solar project. After the permitting was complete, the installation was quick and effortless. I am very pleased that I can reduce my carbon footprint and rely on my panels to provide electricity to my home. The solar panels work as described and have been extremely helpful this summer. Edge Energy was responsive throughout the process and is a company worth trusting.

The installation was professional, clean and didn't take long once it began. The workers asked if I was satisfied with the placement of the electrical devices and reviewed them with me. They also provided names and numbers if I had any questions.

Had a great experience with EDGE, which included having to put down a new roof on my DC rowhouse. Tony was on my roof at least twice checking on his team, and his team was present for all DC electrical inspections, etc. Also accompanied me through the whole SREC registration process, and handled all permitting in house. Very impressed. High quality installation, done right.

I am totally impressed by this installer, and I do not impress easily. From the initial visit to check feasibility of installing panels on my roof in view of many large trees nearby, consideration of four possible facings, drone photos, measurements and energy efficiency calculations, to the installation of the panels and electric hookup, everything went smoothly. Most remarkable to me, as I dislike the hassle of such things, were the behind the scenes applications for state and manufacturer's rebates, forms for tax credits, registration for saleable Solar Renewable Energy Certificates , communications and interconnection with our electric provider, coordination with inspections...and on and on, which would have stopped me in my tracks if I had to do all that myself. Edge Energy was enormously efficient, and the whole process was seamless! Five stars, with no hesitation!

After a 45 days starting in a stormy January, I am able to cover 100% of my installation lifetime electric use with just solar power.

Edge Energy just completed our second solar panel installation. They were very competent and professional. I would highly recommend.

We considered 14 installers and opted for Edge Energy because (1) they had the kind of panels we wanted, (2) they are local, (3) their founder and CEO visited us personally and exuded professionalism and self-confidence, and (4) they had the highest customer satisfaction rating by people in our local solar cooperative. We were determined to go with Edge Energy and were willing to pay more for our system if necessary. As it turned out, the cost of our 17-panel 5.87kW installation was as good as or better than the competition. The permitting process went much quicker than anticipated. The Edge Energy installation crew was professional, polite, tidy and FAST completing the work in three hours! The system has been working flawlessly for over three months and we couldn't be more pleased.

Our installation was part of the big DC SUN Lincoln Park bulk purchase. About half of the houses went with Edge Energy because they use SunPower high efficiency panels. For row-houses with small, nearly flat roofs, high efficiency is really important if you want to generate as much power as possible. We got a 2.9 kW system with just 8 panels. The actual performance has been better than advertised: from late June until late November we generated 1800 kWh (versus our usage of 1000 kWh). It is almost embarrassing! We are delighted with the SunPower panels. Edge Energy did a good job of accommodating our tight roof and our request for customization of the mounting brackets. Most of their installations in the suburbs are done on pitched roofs where the slope of the roof tilts the panels toward the sun. In much of DC however, the installations are on low-sloped roofs so the panels do not have that favorable angle. Edge Energy made some custom standoffs for us so that the majority of our panels are tilted. All of the mounting hardware and beams also appear to be very strong. The performance of our system is a testament to the overall engineering and installation of the system. Edge Energy installed the system in 5 visits. 1. Rooftop qualification and discussion about options. This led to a quotation and our deposit. 2. Detailed measurements and photographs. This led to engineering drawings, permits, and prepayment for the panels. A couple of months later: 3. Drilling sealed anchors into the party-walls for the brackets. (3 guys) A few days later: 4. Mounting the brackets, beams, panels, wiring, and controller. (Because they had small army of folks doing various tasks, this step took less than 3 hours.) A few days later: 5. Software and communication installation for the SunPower monitoring system. A few days later, Pepco authorized turning on the system full-time. The only snafu in the Edge Energy installation was in the installation of one of the current-clamps that monitors the flow of power into or out of the Pepco meter. This needed to be moved to a different wire for the house panel to properly show our net usage. This was corrected by their master electrician a week or so after the system was turned on. It did not lead to any false billing, just wacky graphs that we called them about.

We have 47 solar panels installed by Edge, 17 on east side and 30 on south side of roof. We replaced the roof shingles before the install. Very happy with the quality of installation and performance of the Sunpower panels. Ours have the inverter on each panel. No leaks on roof penetrations. Wiring and electrical panels installed were done professionally and without issue. No problems with County approvals. I would definitely use EDGE again.

My Solar system was installed by Edge Energy in June of 2010. My experience was so good, that I went back to Edge 2 more times. In 2012 I needed a Energy audit for a MD rebate on Air Conditioner replacement. Edge came and did it with the same great Customer service as my Solar install. Fast forward to 2013 and the purchase of my Electric Car. Now I needed a Car Charger and yes it was Edge again that did my install. I am very happy with Edge and will use them again when I need something in their portfolio of services.

Edge Energy's preference for SunPower panels is justified. While there are a lot of good solar panels to choose from, I selected the more expensive 22 series because of my limited roof space and the SunPower reputation for durability and support.

Edge was great. The sales team was incredibly informative. The planning team worked with me to install the system the way it worked for me. The install team was fun and made it all happen wonderfully. The support has been phenomenal - resolving an issue caused by the power company! Go Edge.

It was generally easy to work with the folks at Edge, but there were a few hiccups along the way. Acknowledging that DC/Pepco are the slowest in the nation for approval of solar hookups, it still took 18 months to get the system up and running, and even longer to get my SREC account established. Edge might have been a little overwhelmed by the number of installations that came from the consortium I was part of, but I wasn't in a hurry, so in the end, it didn't make much difference. There were also some glitches with the roofing work that Edge arranged before the solar installation--not in the roof itself, but with carelessness of the workers, who blocked the entrance to the basement apartment and walked in on the guest staying there through an unlocked door. The system has worked perfectly since I turned it on, and I have no complaints about its function or operation. Here's hoping it keeps going far into the future!

I bought a home in need of renovation in 2013. Edge Energy provided me with advice on energy aspects of the renovation, installed two PV systems in two phases (one rooftop and one ground mount), and designed and installed a battery back-up system to provide PV-based power for critical loads when the power grid is down. Senior staff graciously advised me on several energy conservation issues and passive solar design for the renovation free-of-charge and before we had a solar or battery system contract in place. The rooftop PV system was a straightforward project but the battery system was a customized project, requiring careful effort in design and installation. I was fully satisfied with both the rooftop and battery system (completed in 2014) and hence asked Edge Energy to undertake a Phase 2 PV project involving a new ground mount system in my yard in 2016. With this second project successfully completed, my solar production exceeds my home electricity use (including addition of a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle), I am a net seller of electricity and do not expect to buy electricity again for the rest of my life, and my home energy use is !00% carbon-free renewable energy as I use a wood heat stove. This was a dream of mine when I purchased the home, and Edge Energy has helped me realize it. As the battery system is complex, they have helped me overcome some minor operational difficulties with excellent after-sales service.

Our project was large: a new roof and 36 solar panels/electrical/monitoring systems. We began the process at the end of July, 2016 and the roof and solar system were installed by the second week of September. The solar installation went off without a hitch and in a very timely manner. We did have an issue with the roof tearoff/replacement. The roof team completed half the replacement and, that night, we had a monster thunderstorm. We looked up about 9pm and saw water streaming in windows upstairs and down. I immediately emailed Tony and he and his team were at our house within 30 minutes fixing the problem. The next day, he returned and promised to fix all of the damage (not significant, but still present). Not only that, he offered us a choice: a price break on our project or weatherization of our attic. We chose the latter. The roof took 2-3 days, the solar installation and weatherization took 4 days and the repairs happened during and after the the installation. We could not be more pleased. We're producing about 80% of our electrical needs.

One day installation showing power was generating and approval for start up from power company and connection to the grid only came about one month later. Since that occurred, the system has been operating with smooth precision with no maintenance generating an average of 690 kWh per month. This was a seamless installation that included registration with both the manufacturer of the solar panels (which we receive monthly reports) and with the state power grid authorities and included the third party SREC marketeer.(which we receive quarterly reports and payments)..

We have had our panels installed for about 1.5 years now. Edge did the installation on our 3 story townhouse that has cedar shake. They were one of a very few companies that were able to do this. They did an excellent installation, the panels have been producing exactly as described prior to installation. We are very happy with the job Edge did for us. They were helpful and the system price was extremely competitive. At the same time we had Edge do air sealing for our home. The energy efficiency of our home after the air sealing and solar panel installation is really amazing.

My installation was activated in October 2012. The orientation of the array was somewhat less than optimum to provide maximum solar collection. Since then, solar collection has provided approximately 2/3 of my electricity use. Recent installation of a smart meter has reduced my cost of electric service even further. For March, April, and May of this year my net usage from Dominion Energy was zero KWH. The array has been nearly trouble free for the past five years with the one instance of a panel outage corrected promptly and professionally. I highly recommend Edge Energy.

The installers knew what they were doing, cared about the appearance of the installation (there's more than panels on the rooftop!) and after the installation (oh, yes, that's important!) when there was a glitch because of grid power issues the Edge support guy was here quickly to fix things and show us what to do the next time it happens. The installation was delayed by a number of factors, including need to clear historic district conditions. It all happened without any work on our part but we had to wait several months longer than expected.

The crew, from operations/administration to install, was awesome. From the beginning of the process to the end of the process, Edge staff were professional, well versed and educated in the area of solar panels. They took care to answer my questions such that I understood them. They even educated me about the process and what it meant for me and my home in the log run to invest in solar panels. There was a bit of miscommunication during the actual install process but it was remedied quickly. I've had a couple of occasions when my system stopped monitoring but they came out soon after I notified them in order to resolve the issue. With the energy audit, they were just as thorough and provided loads of recommendations to improve my home overall. I spent plenty of money on my system and they have made sure that they've remained in contact to check-in on my system. I would recommend them to others in a heartbeat. In fact, I recommend them to my neighbor and she recently had a system installed by them.

Very professional - and clean! Ask the project managers questions and you will see they really know their stuff! This is their specialty. They are not just general contractors - they are energy experts!
