I was VERY pleased with the entire relationship with Cobalt Power. Before any proposal was made, I was asked what my goals were with solar energy, and a custom system was designed to suit my every request. The entire permitting and rebate process was handled transparently and only required a few signatures. The installation proceeded exactly on schedule and without any disruption to our household routine. Railings were painted to match the roof, conduit to match the house, and every other conceivable detail was anticipated and handled. The final installation is very clean and barely visible, per my specs. After a month of monitoring the system, it is matching all the detailed estimates which were provided before we started, and I`m enjoying watching my new net meter run backwards. We`ve done a lot of remodelling on our house and Cobalt Power is the most professional contractor we`ve dealt with. I will highly recommend the entire team to anyone interested in a PV system.<br />I like to support smaller local businesses with a stake in the community. Cobalt has an excellent reputation (by all accounts I could find) and is not a franchise. In collecting bids, I found that some of the larger companies were not as responsive (and eager?) for my business and also felt that the personal attention I got from the entire Cobalt team made for a better business relationship.

My only regret is that I did not trust Cobalt Power`s capacity estimate. I mis-analyzed the net-metering costs and installed a system slightly larger than absolutely necessary.<br />My frank opinion: at current costs, installing a PV system is the rough equivalent of paying my electric bill ahead. I know I can get a better return on my $24,000, but I`d rather not give that money to the local utility company and just invest it in my house.

Mark is great - his crew was terrific - wonderful people - efficient, courteous - could not schedule early but did in shorter than anticipated time, worked with roofer, etc., etc. - Had surveyed half dozen potential installers, so his professionalism stands FAR ABOVE all the others.<br />My own interest and research on power cost/use/savings... not any of the above. Cobalt/Byington were of course helpful in this, but only after further research...

I have recommended Cobalt Power to three other people two of whom have installed PV systems.<br />My PV array was installed based upon pure economics. Without the subsidy of 41% i would never have done this. With the subsidy i get an after tax return on my investment of between 9% and 11%. This will only get better as the years progress. Were I to decide to sell the house I am confidant that i would recoup the principle amount. I would recommend Cobalt Power to anyone interested in having a quality, effective PV system installed on their home.

The work was great. The system is great. Excessive March rains delayed completion, but Cobalt was very attentive to completing the installation as fast as possible. No service calls have been needed since installation 2 years ago.<br />
