First signed contract on 2/10/26 we decided month later that we go with battery back up new contract on 4/13/26. So now the fun begins they sent out solar panels and equipment. They had to send it back because it was Chinese made and not USA made then once that was all cleared up,they installed in one day but the battery backup didn’t show up till two or three weeks later, then the electrician came .. it was his first time setting up a battery back up and reading instructions while installing.. which took a few days or more.. then he had to come back after a couple of weeks to redo it because someone at the home office said didn’t like to set up ..that was finished up in July 7, 2026. I almost set him up a bedroom down in the basement. He was here for so long..At that time it was inspected and all was good. Now we had to get permission to operate from Ohio Edison that took four weeks . Then once we got PTO additional 10 days for Ohio Edison to switch out the meter then three weeks after that, they came out and hooked up my battery 10 /6/2026.. so we lost all spring sunlight and all summer sunlight and now it’s fall and theres not much sunlight to be found unless we have a hot fall…so I can store some power..

My solar panels were originally installed by a Blue Raven crew and unfortunately, there were issues with the system's installation. Now Sun Power is the parent company of both Blue Raven and Ambia and they sent out an Ambia's crew to fix an issue with my roof due to installation problems. I can tell that under new management, the after sales service was improved and I had a good customer experience with Ambia. They were on time, professional and respectful of my property and most of all, they quickly pinpointed the issue with my roof and fixed it. Although, Ambia still has to send a contractor to take care of my ceiling, I'm satisfied with Ambia's job on my roof and I feel confident that no more unsightly water marks will appear in my ceiling. Thanks to Skyler Reynolds and his team for a job well done.

DO NOT BUY FROM AMBIA/SUNSOLAR

If you want to spend tens of thousands of dollars on a solar panel system, this is the company for you. BUT, if you want a company that will provide warranty service on that very expensive investment then don't buy from Ambia/SunSolar. The only service you're going to get is lip service. I've been trying to get a micro-inverter replaced for two months with no luck. And I have the part! When I threatened to file suit, the response from the agent made me think it wasn't the first time she had heard it. I don't recommend buying from Ambia/SunSolar.

I have been extremely disappointed with my experience with Ambia Solar! My solar panels were installed late August 2024, but they were not actually operational until late March 2025—nearly seven months after installation. Unfortunately, the problems didn't end there!! The system stopped working again in March 2026. I was told that Ambia monitors customers' systems for issues, but if that's true, they never contacted me. Instead, I had to reach out on May 20, 2026, after realizing the panels had not been producing power for almost two months. I received an email stating that a technician would come out on June 8, 2026, but no one showed up and the system is still not working. I called again on June 9 and was told someone from Ambia would reach out to me. As of now, I am still waiting. The most frustrating part is that have been making payments since November 2024 months before it was even functioning and I continue to make payments but it has only functioned for about 12 of the 23 months since it was installed. Between the lengthy delays, repeated outages, missed service appointments, and lack of communication, this has been an incredibly disappointing experience. They do not care!!! Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Ambia Solar.

This company sucks

Installed my panels. Nine were not working, then they got them up and running. Now, same nine are down again. Sent multiple emails, no response. No one picks up the phone when the number is called.

Quoting Process

Hi, I spoke with Brandom Thompson out of Utah. Our time zones are different, and he was very patient, kind, and knowledgeable. He explained the process, the material, the price, and how payments would work. The price i was quoted for is great, and there is financing. Overall, Brandon made this a great initial experience, even with me postponing my project.

Find a different company!

This company is very unorganized and unprofessional. The process started out fine, our sales person was nice and informative. Once we signed the agreements and got things going, that’s when everything seemed to start falling apart and I started to second guess our decision. We had to sign the same forms multiple times due to error. Once they scheduled our installation they said it would take one, maybe two days to complete. They’ve been to our home to continue the installation at least six different days, so I had to continually take off of work. The first day of the installation went well, I thought. But then I got a call that evening saying that the entire crew had been fired but not to worry because someone else would be there to finish the next day. Well one of the people that were fired, ending up coming back the next day as well and was being paid off the books. Needless to say, the job was not finished and I still do not have my panels working. It’s going on around seven months since we originally started this project. The solar panels are installed now and I got an email saying the installation is complete 30 days ago and that I would hear back with next steps. I am still waiting and I have reached out and not heard back from anyone.

Great job

The crew was very polite and exporter they were going to do. They had a few issues since the delivery person brought the wrong size panels which mean I lose 300 kWh that is not ideal but better than them not installing panels and having to wait for new delivery and install. I hope I still get a good return

Lies and more misrepresentation

The sales representative lied to our face and when Ambia was contacted their response was "Do you have that in writing?" Their attitude was why should we care. Not our problem. Getting solar was worst possible decision. Promised no more power bill. Fact after getting the panels we have seen little reduction in the electric bill. Promised that our electric cost would go down. In fact it has now more than doubled with the solar payment bill. Finance terms were not what was explained. Promised on monthly payment. Now find out that for first 18 months only paying interest and then the amount will be increased to include principle payment. At the present time we are considering legal recourse. Do not buy from Ambia. Not worth the disappointment.

Great company, product and install crews.

I got my roof replaced and then the solar install. Both crews worked hard and did great quality installs. They listened to my concerns and explained how they resolve them. I am very satisfied with the results. My sales person Ben, took the time to explain the products and benefits and kept me appraised of the process from signature to finalizing the contract and how to apply for tax rebates.

Pushed Through on a Difficult Installation

Our roof had some peculiarities that stalled our project. The installers were great at explaining the situation and working toward a solution. Ambia took care of all the details including permits, installation, and inspections. I am particularly grateful to Brogan and Benjamin for their expertise and commitment.

The installation was doe in3 days the team cleaned up every evening before leaving. However the service is horrible we had panels in late June. They came back about a week later to remove 3 of the panels. Since then there has been one excuse after another blaming Consumers our power company for the delays. We got in time for Ambia to get the $30000 tax credit as we’re leasing the equipment. It was over at the end of the year. Then we finally got the ok to interconnect with the power company. I called them and they said they would walk me through the startup. Of course it didn’t work. When I called again to have a specialist come out to start it up (the way they should have done in the first place) they said that the department that takes care of that will contact me. Still dead air. Ambia has been bought out by another solar company so be very careful to not buy from any company affiliated with Ambia.

Solar power

At first we were happy. Now that we are in the winter months our system isn’t generating power so now we have to pay our payment to Ambia plus a payment to our electric company. We were assured when signing up that our system would store enough energy in our grid to take care of the winter months. Now they say it was miscommunication from their sales representative! Don’t buy into this company!

Routing of cables in the attic space over the garage could have been done more neatly-cables were strung free air drooping over rafters, interfering with items currently stored in the space. System is still awaiting PTO and bidirectional meter installation as of this writing, so functionality of the system is unknown.

Excellent Installation

We are very pleased with the work Ambia's employees did for us. First, a crew of 3 labored in uncomfortable windy conditions to install the solar panels. Then an electrician connected those panels to our existing circuit breaker box. That gentleman worked in rainy conditions and showed skill and competence.

Things went well. They installed a new roof and once everything was approved they installed the panels. There just was no explanation of what everything was and what it does. No login information to check how it’s working either. So as far as I know it’s doing something, but I really don’t know.

Worthless

Delays, poor communication, incompetent company. Multiple delays, nobody at the company seems to know what's going on... ever. Would never do business with these people again.

After sale support stinks

Got my solar system installed. All went well, timely and efficient crew. However, I have an error code and have had ay least 6 times that a tech was supposed to come and fix it. So far I've never seen anyone. I feel like I'm getting the run around. I've been in contact with my sales rep and he is just as frustrated as I. PLEASE come and fix it.

Accrue, that installed my solar panels was awesome, very polite, very friendly. Did a great job cleaned up after themselves? I would recommend them 100%

Install

Great experience so far with company. Very professional, clean and respectable of property. However, we’re still waiting for inspection to happen as right now we are not producing from our panels. We were told it would be 7 to 10 days after the install and today is day seven and have heard nothing.

Then men did a great job and were very polite.
