Find a different company!
This company is very unorganized and unprofessional. The process started out fine, our sales person was nice and informative. Once we signed the agreements and got things going, that’s when everything seemed to start falling apart and I started to second guess our decision. We had to sign the same forms multiple times due to error. Once they scheduled our installation they said it would take one, maybe two days to complete. They’ve been to our home to continue the installation at least six different days, so I had to continually take off of work. The first day of the installation went well, I thought. But then I got a call that evening saying that the entire crew had been fired but not to worry because someone else would be there to finish the next day. Well one of the people that were fired, ending up coming back the next day as well and was being paid off the books. Needless to say, the job was not finished and I still do not have my panels working. It’s going on around seven months since we originally started this project. The solar panels are installed now and I got an email saying the installation is complete 30 days ago and that I would hear back with next steps. I am still waiting and I have reached out and not heard back from anyone.

Lies and more misrepresentation
The sales representative lied to our face and when Ambia was contacted their response was "Do you have that in writing?" Their attitude was why should we care. Not our problem. Getting solar was worst possible decision. Promised no more power bill. Fact after getting the panels we have seen little reduction in the electric bill. Promised that our electric cost would go down. In fact it has now more than doubled with the solar payment bill. Finance terms were not what was explained. Promised on monthly payment. Now find out that for first 18 months only paying interest and then the amount will be increased to include principle payment. At the present time we are considering legal recourse. Do not buy from Ambia. Not worth the disappointment.

Great company, product and install crews.
I got my roof replaced and then the solar install. Both crews worked hard and did great quality installs. They listened to my concerns and explained how they resolve them. I am very satisfied with the results. My sales person Ben, took the time to explain the products and benefits and kept me appraised of the process from signature to finalizing the contract and how to apply for tax rebates.

Pushed Through on a Difficult Installation
Our roof had some peculiarities that stalled our project. The installers were great at explaining the situation and working toward a solution. Ambia took care of all the details including permits, installation, and inspections. I am particularly grateful to Brogan and Benjamin for their expertise and commitment.

The installation was doe in3 days the team cleaned up every evening before leaving. However the service is horrible we had panels in late June. They came back about a week later to remove 3 of the panels. Since then there has been one excuse after another blaming Consumers our power company for the delays. We got in time for Ambia to get the $30000 tax credit as we’re leasing the equipment. It was over at the end of the year. Then we finally got the ok to interconnect with the power company. I called them and they said they would walk me through the startup. Of course it didn’t work. When I called again to have a specialist come out to start it up (the way they should have done in the first place) they said that the department that takes care of that will contact me. Still dead air. Ambia has been bought out by another solar company so be very careful to not buy from any company affiliated with Ambia.

Ok
Routing of cables in the attic space over the garage could have been done more neatly-cables were strung free air drooping over rafters, interfering with items currently stored in the space. System is still awaiting PTO and bidirectional meter installation as of this writing, so functionality of the system is unknown.

Was a great experience from the initial sale to installation.

Excellent Installation
We are very pleased with the work Ambia's employees did for us. First, a crew of 3 labored in uncomfortable windy conditions to install the solar panels. Then an electrician connected those panels to our existing circuit breaker box. That gentleman worked in rainy conditions and showed skill and competence.
Mark | Maumee, OH | 11/04/2025
Things went well. They installed a new roof and once everything was approved they installed the panels. There just was no explanation of what everything was and what it does. No login information to check how it’s working either. So as far as I know it’s doing something, but I really don’t know.

Worthless
Delays, poor communication, incompetent company. Multiple delays, nobody at the company seems to know what's going on... ever. Would never do business with these people again.

After sale support stinks
Got my solar system installed. All went well, timely and efficient crew. However, I have an error code and have had ay least 6 times that a tech was supposed to come and fix it. So far I've never seen anyone. I feel like I'm getting the run around. I've been in contact with my sales rep and he is just as frustrated as I. PLEASE come and fix it.

Install
Great experience so far with company. Very professional, clean and respectable of property. However, we’re still waiting for inspection to happen as right now we are not producing from our panels. We were told it would be 7 to 10 days after the install and today is day seven and have heard nothing.

I have been hesitant about solar for a while now. Charlie, helped me understand everything. The crew (Don Webb, Kyle Coleen, Travis Keller) came out and did the install in one afternoon. They were friendly, understanding, and most importantly, my dogs loved them.

Garbage Lying Cons
The sales representative RIchard Vella is a complete liar and conman. He lied directly to us about several things. He told us that our electricity would be completely covered by our system. Come to find out I am paying an extra $120 a month for $30 a month electricity credit. So now that I have solar from Ambia I pay $90 a month more for the same electricity used. When I reached out to them they blew me right off. I am going to contact the Michigan AG because this company is full of absolute conmen.

Don't make the same mistake I did
I wish they would have reviewed their hiring practices a little better, as I wouldn't be out $56,000 if they did. My project didn't go smoothly, and now I'm paying both my electric bill and their solar panels, which wasn't the deal according to the employee they hired. Please don't make the same mistake I did and buy solar panels from them. My salesman had a recent fraud conviction, so obviously this company doesn't do very good background checks. I should have looked up the person's name before signing up. It would have saved me a lot of money and a giant headache dealing with everyone from this company. Lots of empty promises. One of the biggest mistakes of my life was doing business with them.

The Grand Rapids crew (E. Salinas, J. Jacobson and A. Vega) did an outstanding job. Their professionalism and knowledge of their trade was evident. I would gladly recommend them.

So far excellent!
Ambia Solar has been very accommodating to my schedule concerns. They have been flexible and courteous each time I have reached out. My panels will be getting installed later this month but I am expecting that to go smoothly as well.

Mixed Review
This review is with mixed emotions. Initially, my husband and I were very impressed with the solar option and decided to take the leap. We were quickly approved and installation happened right away, which was nice. 1st Issue: One of the installers accidently dropped one of the brackets, which contained a good amount of stick dark epoxy. When it landed, it splattered on to our pool deck. We told them what had happened and said they would be sure to fix it. Once they completed the install, we contacted our Rep and he gave us a number to call. It took a lot longer to fix than we would have liked, however, it was finally fixed. 2nd Issue: We were told that our 1970's electrical panel would be replaced, and there was some miscommunication between our Rep and us regarding if that was going to happen or not. In the end, it was replaced, however, we had many issues including the electrician not having the right equipment or various delays (2 different times). 3rd Issue: The first witness test failed, and then I was not told the exterior equipment was fixed, nor was I told when the new witness test was going to be...both of which I should have been informed.

So glad we went solar
Ambia is great to work with! Trent came out and went over all the details of our solar project and loan. He was very friendly and informative! Ambia pulled all the permits and scheduled everything, I got emails along the way to keep track of the project. They were installed, inspected and turned on and working great. Just got my first bill and instead of the usual $220+ bill, my total was just over $42! And most of that was for natural gas! I would definitely recommend Ambia and going solar!

Scheduling chaos, duplicative forms, incorrect data
The person who initially stopped by our house (door to door) and the rep (evaluated and sold) were both friendly, respectful, and easy to get ahold of. They made us feel confident in the company, process and moving forward and helped handle issues as they arrose. Without them, this would be a zero star review. The company continued to text and call and email every day until forms were signed, then those communications continued even after because they didn't check the systems before hounding. They reached out asking questions that had already been answered and addressed in legally binding documents instead of looking at the records. Then they marked our project as substantially complete when the pallet of screens was in my yard and not installed in any way -- turns out they entered someone else's info into my billing account.... For install, we were scheduled for a Monday, the installer asked to come Sunday to get a head start, worked for an hour then 'remembered he had something to do' and left. He didn't come Monday because his earlier job 'held him up'. He rescheduled to the following Saturday then cancelled morning of saying the electrician called out and since it was a holiday weekend he couldn't get a replacement. Then failed to respond after asking for additional availability. Someone else took over scheduling and we got on for a Monday noting we would be on vacation before then. They called while on vacation trying to move our install date up since they had marked our job as complete and would have to pay the fees if it wasn't done before the payments started. They even asked if someone else could come let them into the house while we were gone. Then, on Monday (2 weeks after the original scheduled install) they didn't show up at the time they booked. My email confirmed a noon time, their online portal updated it to 1 pm. At 3 they still werent there. When I called, they said they got 'held up unloading a pallet'. Our rep made them drop what they were doing and come finish our install. Once done, they realized they never got our signatures for the install locations so they asked for that AFTER everything was already installed....

PA1 Crew for the Win!
I really want to thank the PA1 crew, Dwayne, Garry, and Chris! Very well organized and knowledgeable crew. Like a well oiled machine. Everyone was always doing something. Paid attention to details. Very neat. Very friendly. A joy to have them installing all the required equipment for our solar project. Answered all questions and took the time to explain the system. A very impressive operation. I don't know where you find these fine folks, but don't let anyone go. Great team. Thank you for everything. I was nervous and worried, but all was wonderful. I appreciate everyone stay late to get the job done, such quality work! Thanks! Stevie

Rude Door to Door Salesperson
One of your wonderful D2D sales people, Brynlee, was at my door today, despite ignoring the very clear no soliciting sign. When I said I'm not interested and called out the sign, she then threw a rude insult my way saying "I probably don't make enough money to qualify". Very unprofessional coming onto my property, ignoring no soliciting signs, then throwing out insults when called out on it.

Horrible company
I’m currently sitting here with no power, even though the sun is shining! I’m charged an extra $3+ more every month, than the salesman quoted me. I was charged an extra $18 the first month, which they said was my fault for not signing up for autopay fast enough, even though their system wouldn’t let me sign up earlier than I did. The install team left trash all over my yard. When I asked the salesman for a number to call and complain, he gave me a number that no one ever answered. Overall, this has been a nightmare! If I could have them remove the whole deal, I would!

Misleading Practices and Unjustified Cancellation Fee
I had an extremely disappointing experience with Ambia Energy, particularly involving Scott Thurgood and Jeannette Quevedo. After signing an agreement with Ambia, I communicated with Scott Thurgood via email on May 29 to cancel the installation. Despite this clear and documented communication, I was later sent an invoice for a $492 cancellation fee, claiming the cancellation came too late. Jeannette Quevedo, copied on these emails, chose to pursue this fee instead of acknowledging the timeline and the good-faith effort I made to cancel appropriately. Ambia’s actions feel like a bait and switch. There was no follow-up from the company prior to their scheduling attempt, and the aggressive pursuit of a cancellation fee just days after my cancellation request is unreasonable and misleading. It gives the impression that Ambia's process is set up to trap customers into penalties. I made multiple attempts to resolve this matter fairly and directly with Ambia, but received no accountability. Their approach reflects poor business ethics and a lack of transparency. I would strongly caution others before entering into an agreement with this company.

Professional Service
We found Ambia to be very informative and transparent in our initial meeting. They were even able to quote additional necessary electrical repairs we needed and add them to the financed cost in the first meeting! We met with another company previously and we found out later that the pricing inflated dramatically after the survey process. We ended up working with Ambia, and the process was very fast from start to finish. Our project manager kept us up to date with the process on a weekly basis, and we received good communication from Ambia when it came to scheduling the installation. The process took about 4 weeks from start to finish, our township causing the biggest delay on permit approval. Installation ran very smoothly and the team that did it was very responsive! They made sure to walk us around to show their work and also showed us how each part of the system worked, which was a big help. All in all Ambia was a great company to work with, we are now fully energized and are building credits as I type! I would definitely recommend them to anyone in my area.

Knowledgeable Team
We had an incredible experience working with Ambia Solar here in Michigan. From start to finish, their team demonstrated deep industry knowledge and a true commitment to helping us understand every aspect of the solar process. What stood out most was the patience and professionalism shown by our representative, Jake. Jake took the time to listen carefully to our needs and concerns, answering every question without rushing or overwhelming us. He never once pressured us into making a decision—we genuinely felt he was focused on what was best for our family and home, not just making a sale. That kind of integrity is rare and so appreciated. If you’re considering solar and want someone who will guide you with expertise, respect, and zero pressure, I highly recommend Ambia Solar—and especially Jake. They made a complex process feel simple, empowering, and ultimately exciting. Thank you, Ambia Solar

A++++
Absolutely amazing experience. The reps were knowledgeable, kind, and courteous. They were not pushy and allow us to make an educated decision based on the information they gave us. No hassles and everything was exactly how they said. I would highly recommend anyone thinking about solar to talk to this company. We’ve had others come over, and literally had to ask them to leave. 100% professional! I give them an A+. Thomas

Lots of Options
I’ve sat with several companies to get quotes cause I’ve always wanted to have a solar system, Ambia was the first one not to push one specific way, he showed me the ownership route, the “lease/ppa” option and battery vs no battery. Literally felt like i had complete control to essentially order everything i wanted, exactly how i wanted it. Idk if i just got a good egg, but even when i called in to ask about estimated install dates, i got right through and was given pretty realistic install estimate. I worked with Trent Hatch, who I believe is one of the managers of the branch here in Pittsburgh. But, really after meeting with 4 other companies, (none of them terrible) it was just the easiest, chillest one of em all.
