<br />The key is to put the investment in perspective as far as payback given the electricity rates of the local utility and other things you might pay tens of thousands of dollars for like a house with a bigger yard (a quality of life issue), a house with a warranty (a quality of building issue), a house that was stick built as opposed to modular (another long-term quality type investment), etc.<br /><br />Finally, it was pointed out to me that the expense of our PV`s rolled into our mortgage at completion of construction and therefore we borrowed the money for that improvement at a low rate with tax benefits even before the ludicrous government incentives that end this year.
