Nettles Residence - A Robust System
A1A Solar Contracting, Inc. was contracted to provide and install 24 Sun Edison 375 watt solar electric panels, along with 24 Enphase microinverters, 1 8KW Radian inverter and associated load management gear in my residence in late 2014. By December 29, 2014, the system was complete and producing power for my home and pushing back into the local power grid any excess. JEA, the local electrical utility installed a photovoltaic generation system watthour meter to keep track of the energy sold back to the utility and my power consumption from the utility. The system was designed by A1A Solar, in coordination with myself, to incorporate a battery backup supply of power through the 8KW Radian inverter in the event of a power loss from the utility during the night time hours. 8 Trojan L16 AC flooded cell lead acid batteries supply the 48 volt buss for the inverter. Monitoring of the PV array and energy production is provided through a network connected Enphase interface and I can access the system information through the internet. The team at A1A Solar performed an excellent integration of all system components from the initial install to the system wiring to the final check out. They coordinated with both city and utility inspectors to make sure that all electrical safety protocols were followed and the system was code compliant and safe. Before, during the installation, and after the job was complete all my questions were answered in a timely and concise manner. Later, in mid 2015, 12 more Sun Edison panels were added, along with 12 more Enphase microinverters and were integrated into the system flawlessly. Now, the only way I know that my utility company is not online is to either see all my neighbor''s houses and streetlights are dark, or, to see a loss of incoming AC power LED illuminated on the Enphase panel. Switching time is so fast that I am unaware that I am self sufficient with regard to electrical power. A1A Solar also made the low interest rate financing available and I got a federal income tax credit to boot! I am very pleased with the job that A1A Solar did and would recommend them very highly. The professionalism was just remarkable.
