Stellar Solar

We’ve been very happy customers of Stellar Solar for years, from our original solar panels to their ongoing support. Earlier this year, they proactively contacted us because they noticed we might be eligible for a home battery system rebate. They handled all of the tedious work, navigating the confusing paperwork and submitting everything seamlessly. If not for their help, we never would have been approved for a battery system through SGIP. They truly made the whole process effortless. A huge thanks to Joseph and Robert for a great installation job—especially for taking the extra effort to run the wiring so cleanly through the attic!

Wonderful Experience

We had Stellar Solar install 15 panels and a Powerwall 3 about two years ago. The system was very affordable with a discount on the panels, the 30% tax credit at the time, and the San Diego Community Power battery rebate program. San Diego Community Power gave a rebate for much of the battery cost in exchange for San Diego Community Power taking up to half the battery capacity every evening. The installation process went without a hitch. Stellar Solar kept us advised of every step in the process. They also handled everything involved with the San Diego Community Power rebate program. The system works great, although for the first few months we had extensive communication with Tesla to get the battery programmed properly. The system covers almost all of our electricity needs with our SDG&E bill usually just the base $24 monthly service fee. Those fees are usually more than recovered with the true-up at the end of year with payments from SDG&E and San Diego Community Power. (The reimbursement is a small fraction of former net-metering reimbursements, however.) We are usually able to run our mini-split air conditioning during the day in the summer as well as charge our plug-in hybrid car during the day without drawing power from SDG&E. The battery usually covers most of our electricity use in the evening and overnight even with San Diego Community Power taking up to half the battery capacity. The system will pay for itself in a few years. Perhaps most important, however, is that we are helping to cut carbon emissions. We previously had a solar system installed in 2006. It is remarkable about how much more efficient the solar panels have become in less than twenty years. We highly recommend Stellar Solar.

The bar has been raised!

Stellar Solar has been nothing but a pleasure to work with. I am no stranger to solar and construction projects and can safely say that Brandon and his partner are an example of how things should be! On time, courteous, knowledgeable, hard working and delivering more than what was promised. Employees like these are an asset to their companies and set the bar high for others to follow! Thank you a million times for all your hard work in 105 degree heat of the valley. Heat or no heat, these professionals accomplished their task in record time.

We hired Stellar Solar for our solar project in Carlsbad. Joseph (PV and Battery Lead installer) and Robert installed the Tesla Powerwall 3, Tesla Universal Wall charger and Tesla remote switch. They are both very professional and polite. Excellent work!

We had a great experience with for our solar panel + battery installation (along with a roofing subcontract). Our initial contact was Peter Kennelly, who was knowledgeable, responsive, and -- importantly -- never pushy. Going into the process, our biggest concerns were making sure the system was properly sized for our actual needs, that the equipment would be reliable, and that we were working with a company we could trust long-term. Stellar did a good job addressing all of those concerns. Communication throughout the process was consistent overall, and the various (many!) teams that came out to the house were professional and clearly experienced. We especially appreciated that they were knowledgeable not just about the equipment itself, but also SDG&E rates, battery strategy, and available rebates/programs. What really surprised us was the speed of the installation. From the first day of roofing to battery installation, panels, inspection, and formal permission to operate, the entire process took only 3.5 weeks. Stellar coordinated multiple internal teams, a roofing subcontractor, and the city seamlessly. The install itself looks clean and the system has been working very well so far (about 3 weeks in). The equipment feels solid and thoughtfully selected rather than oversold. If I had one critique, it would be that communication between some of the internal teams could occasionally have been smoother, but it was never a major issue and things ultimately got handled well. Overall, we're happy we chose Stellar Solar and would recommend them to anyone looking for a quality solar + battery installer.

Great customer service

I just had a battery back up install installed to my existing system that stellar solar put in the insulation guys were absolutely terrific Brandon and Uly we’re professional and did a great job. It’s really nice to see customer service at this level. That’s why I went back to stellar solar after installing my panels for the battery.

Outstanding Solar Company

After exploring several solar companies, I ultimately chose @Stellarsolar for my installation—and I’m really glad I did. The system has been performing exceptionally well, and I’m very happy with the results, as shown below. If you’re considering solar for your home, I highly recommend reaching out to Kenny Rutherford @Stellarsolar 858-500-6078.

If you’re considering solar, I recommend Stellar Solar.

I had my system installed a couple of years ago, and the experience from start to finish was excellent. No upselling, no pressure—just honest advice and a team that clearly knows what they’re doing. What really stood out was the installation crew. They took their time to make everything look clean and well thought out, not just functional. You can tell they take pride in their work, which is pretty rare these days. A couple of years in now, and everything is still running perfectly. Solid company, great people, and a really smooth experience overall.

Very Happy

I had solar panels installed by Stellar Solar over 6 years ago. The service has been great and I am very happy with my purchase. They did an amazing job with the install. They were professional and the install was quick. I’ve had no problems with the system and would highly recommend Stellar Solar to anyone who is looking to install solar panels or solar products.

Great Experience

Stellar Solar just finished adding additional solar panels along with a Tesla battery system to our existing solar system. The whole process, starting with Johnny Esposito who was our initial contact, through the installation with Eduardo Naranjo and his crew (not to mention everyone else we dealt with at Stellar) has been a fantastic experience. The design process was thorough, as they had to incorporate the new system into our existing system based on our projected needs. And when the installation took place, their crew was polite, considerate and professional throughout the whole process. So needless to say, we’re extremely pleased with our experience, and I would certainly recommend them to anyone who is considering going solar.

The best

Stellar Solar has been a dream! They came highly recommended and didn't disappoint. From the outset, they explained our options and helped us plan for future needs as well. Their knowledge, experience, care and prices were unsurpassed. The whole process took less time and less money than we expected, as they navigated through all the bureaucracy and got our permits fairly quickly. We've had their product for years: no problems, works great, and saves us thousands of dollars! Any time we needed to reach out to them, they've been highly responsive and treated us like family. We really couldn't ask for anything more. I would say they were the most professional, efficient and caring companies I've ever had the pleasure to patronize. I have recommended them to friends and neighbors, and I'll certainly use them for my next house!

Installation crew

Brandon Sullivan and his assistant did an awesome job of completing our solar installation on our condominium in Solana Beach !!!

Excellent Job by Dylan Marquette

Dylan was did an excellent job for getting Solar for me. From day one he was available and communicated with me on every step of the way. He was so helpful, supportive and professional. I don’t know too much about where to go and how to even start, but he made it so easy that I didn’t even know when all the inspections and everything was done. He called constantly to educate me and to tell me what is going on and when things will be done. I am so grateful to have him as my consultant and helper. Thank you so much Dylan, I give you a million stars for your excellent job well done. You’re the best and please continue to do amazing work.

Trent Batchelder and his teammates, Damon & Sergio, installed a couple if extra solar panels for me this past Friday. They did a great job and I appreciate their efforts! Trent arrived early to accommodate my schedule and gave me a quick, but thorough, explanation of what they would be doing. True to his word, the work was done as expected. The team was focused on the work and completed the job accurately and efficiently. They cleaned up, leaving no signs of having been here! Thank you for a job well done!

My thanks to Trent and his teammates, Damon & Sergio, for doing such a great job installing my solar panels on Friday, February 13th! Trent arrived early to accommodate my schedule He clearly explained what the process would be then he and his team began their work without any delays. They were laser focused on getting the work done right and doing it in a timely manner. They also did a terrific job of cleaning up after themselves. I am very appreciative of their good work and the respect rhe showed me and my home.

Stellar lives up to its name!

From the start, Kenny and his crew did an outstanding job with planning and installing the entire system. Communication was clear and professional throughout, and the price was very reasonable. They also worked well with my roofer. Highest recommendation!

Home Solar & Battery Installation

I used Stellar Solar back in April 2025 and had an excellent experience! The customer service from Connor and his team was outstanding. They delivered everything on budget and on schedule, and answered all my questions throughout the process. I was very happy with their service—so much so that I even referred a friend who had an equally great experience. Highly recommend Stellar Solar to anyone considering solar!

A reputable company with longevity in the business

We used Stellar Solar to install our system several years ago and it has been going strong ever since. The communication was great throughout the process and the recommended exactly the right number of panels for out needs. Our true up is typically around $25.

We had a great experience with Stellar Solar. Our sales rep Johnny was very helpful and the whole team did a great job. They not only helped us take advantage of the federal tax credit, but helped us with a local battery rebate too. I would highly recommend them if you are looking to go solar!

No service help

Beware of doing business with these guys. They did a good job of installing, but when needing help on errors in the system, they won't give you any attention. My system hasn't worked for a week, I've called multiple times, and haven't had any communication back. Unfortunate considering I've spent over $80,000...

I began consulting with solar companies in the San Diego area after firmly committing in a solar system installation at my house. After speaking with sales consultants of three other solar companies, no one seemed convincing in committing to their contract offering. I then saw a video advertisement of Bill Walton endorsing Stellar Solar. I decided to call their office and was directed to Marc Cirelli. I was impressed with his informative, well-spoken style and the options available to me. I could sense a genuine honesty of everything he was explaining. I am a retired law enforcement officer and developed that keen sense of feeling when someone is being genuine. Marc Cirelli projected that sense of confidence in their product and company. My solar installation has recently been complete and every member of their team produce outstanding workmanship and unparallel professionalism. Stellar Solar has remained responsive to any issue or question I have had after installation. Their courteous nature is still noticeable in every contact. Art Reynaga

So worth it!!!!

Getting solar was the best investment EVER! It has already saved us so much money, and the entire process couldn’t have been smoother. Stellar Solar made everything super easy to understand, from start to finish. Erin was incredibly informative—she explained everything clearly and was always available to answer our questions. The installation process was quick and seamless, and we were constantly kept in the loop with updates, which we really appreciated. Plus, the tax credit is a huge bonus. We’re so glad that we made the switch—HIGHLY recommend Stellar Solar to anyone who is thinking about going solar!

We are super happy with our solar system from Stellar Solar. We have had our system for over a year, pay no electric bill and have a credit on our account. The 30% tax rebate on our 2024 taxes saved a lot too. We have basically replaced our electric bill with the solar payment and we feel like this has also increased the value of our home. It’s a win-win! Two of our sons have also installed Stellar solar on their homes and are happy with the results too. Fully recommended and work with Erin if you can…she’s amazing!

Great experience

Getting solar at my property was such a great decision and Stellar Solar made the process easy. From the initial quote being significantly cheaper than other competitors, to conducting the install when they said they would and following up after the process was smooth. I save hundreds a year by having solar and would encourage all California homeowners to do the same. Great experience with Stellar Solar, highly recommend.

My Solar experience was Stellar!

After researching several solar companies, I decided to go with Stellar Solar—and I’m really glad I did. Their reputation for quality and service is well-deserved. The entire process was clear, well-communicated, and free of pressure. The system design they recommended was tailored to my energy needs, and they explained everything thoroughly, from panel placement to expected output and savings. The installation team was professional and efficient, completing the job on schedule without any surprises. Everything was permitted, inspected, and activated without a hitch. Since going live, my system has been performing exactly as expected—if not better. I’m already seeing a major reduction in my electric bills, and I love being more energy independent. Stellar Solar earns their name. Great team, solid follow-through, and most importantly, they deliver what they promise. I’d happily recommend them to anyone looking to go solar.

Stellar Solar Installation Review - Carmel Valley, San Diego

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my sincere satisfaction with the recent installation of our 10-panel solar system by Stellar Solar. With the expert guidance of solar designer Dave Gersz, we successfully completed the installation in February 2023 in Carmel Valley, San Diego. Stellar Solar's professionalism was evident throughout the entire process, from the initial consultation to the final commissioning. The installation was executed flawlessly, and we are extremely pleased with the system's performance. I am particularly impressed with the consistent energy generation and the ease of monitoring the system's performance through the Enphase App. I would highly recommend Stellar Solar to anyone considering a solar energy installation. Their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction is truly commendable. Sincerely, Prasad Kota San Diego, CA
