Solar Sale USA

This experience has been a 3 year disaster. We purchased an $80,000 ground mounted 15 KW system with battery. From day one, the system could not "island". When the utility power goes down, the entire solar system shuts down and the power stays off even when the utility power comes back. I have to remove the BUI panel cover and manually throw a high voltage switch to turn the main utility power back on, outside and often in the rain. If the power fails and we are not home when it goes out, it stays out. We have a farm with 6 freezers and lost a lot of food when the power flickered and our house stayed dark when we were away on vacation. So, we bought this system to improve our power reliability, and after spending $80k, have something demonstrably worse. 3 years on, the fault has still not been corrected. The technician came out twice and poked around with no results. We have not been able to get a technician here in over a year. Then, things got worse.... On May 1st of this year, our $17,000 battery decided to stop providing power at night, although fully charged. In June, one of our two inverters quit and refuses to restart, shutting down half of the solar array Shortly thereafter, the modem in the system went out, so it cannot connect to the Internet. Solar Sale still will not come out to even look at the system. Lots of excuses but no service. We have been left high and dry, paying our utility for our power while paying the loan for the solar system, which at this point is just a modern art piece installed on our farm. Dealing with this company has been a nightmare from which I cannot escape.

Equipment works. But everything else is trash. Sales guy said the 2nd battery was $6500. That's better than the first quote I received. PLUS, their financing was better. Somehow though, that second battery was never secured. Once I was approved it should have been. The sales guy, michael, acted like he would lose his job if I canceled. I had no desire to cancel. I just wanted the second battery that I was promised. That is the WHOLE reason I purchased from US Solar Sales. Anne, the operations managers, came along and said well hey he didn't do it right but I'll honor it for $7,000. That was early February. Mid-march when the money was in hand, all of suddenly the only battery available is larger, upgraded 15kwh unit for 16,500. Add $1800 for a new inverter. WHAT?? That doesn't match what I was told. You can never ask a question on Monday and get a straight answer or response in 2-3 business days. It's always 3 to 5 weeks. So the operations manager said she would get with the CFO to see HOW to make this right. He has never responded and I've asked for follow-ups multiple times. Regrettably, I gave them a referral. Do not do business with this company. Until this review is updated, it is true and accurate. I am looking at other avenues that will cost WAY more money than sucking up your company dropped the ball to get what I was promised. Yes, the agreement is in writing. The company just chooses, for whatever reason, to stay unorganized and unprofessional. Case in point: 12/19/22 I got a random text from Ted that my supplies were here. I immediately asked about the second battery, BUT there was no status update along the way. We started this in October... Installed in January. Update: 6/27/23 I just spoke with Anne. She had been out. The missing piece in all of this is that the sales rep LIED to say I didnt want that second battery. I knew there was a disconnect somewhere, but I didnt know. Now, he stands to lose commission. Not my problem. When asked about the situation, which is probably why the Sales Director wanted to speak with me, he said i didnt say that. ALWAYS keep records and receipts. Still does not change the right hand doesnt know what the left hand is doing, but I upped to two-star. I will continually update. Update 4/23/24: still no response. Its amazing to me that the CEO has been notified, but has yet to reach out. Faye is the new Quality Assurance Manager, but somehow has no authority whatsoever. I've filed complaints with the BBB, Georgia Department of Consumer Affairs, AND TrustDale, one of the local consumer reporters. Here is the worst part. All i want to do is get the second, discounted battery they agreed to, which is the WHOLE REASON I purchased. I had to go down to one-star. MAYBE the owner, or whoever has real authority and is willing to honor the promise, will respond. Until then, I'm going to EVERY site I can to do a 1-star review. That is my only recourse, as I have priced a BRAND NEW SYSTEM to do what I cant get this specific installer to do. By the way, SolarSaleUSA lied by saying they no longer had my battery as its NO LONGER MADE!!! Just because something is no longer manufactured does not mean it is inaccessible. The company that did the review has the SAME LG BATTERY available that I currently have. Again, I just want someone from SSU to physically call me. We could have worked it out over a year ago as an advertising deal to ease the finanical hit to keep promises to a customer. I promise I'm easy to work with. I'm just STUCK with SolarEdge as I cant undo the project.

The company charged me $15,000 for a solar battery I declined. I have provided documentation and over a year later they still have not rectified their mistake. The person assigned my case, Anne Thomas, does not respond to emails requesting updates. Good Leap the loan company has done everything they can to assist correcting the mistake and Solar Sale is not responding to them either. BEWARE OF THEIR BUSINESS PRACTICES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I contacted Solar Sale to get a quote and we amazed at all the information that I received. I am anxious to get started doing business with them!

Over 2 years and never connected my solar system. Paid for solar power from finance company they referred for18 months and no solar power. Suing this company and their finance company. Worst scam ever. Promises made but never delivered. Also, the installers ruined my roof, causing leaks inside that they caused and could never repair. Had to pay for a new roof that they will not pay for. Awful company.

Solar Sale USA is very unprofessional they did not keep me informed of my installation. I had to contact them weekly only to be lied to as to when I would get my Installation. They promised several installation dates only to give a different date when that date arrived . I was told I could not cancel agreement due to cost already put into my project by Solarsaleusa. I will regret doing business with this company. I would not refer them to anyone else. I will be filling a complaint with the State Board regarding me not being allowed to cancel due to the length of time it took to get my installation, lack of professionalism of Ann Thomas and Faye . Consumers be ware do not do business with Solarsaleusa.

I got solar panels to help save the planet and reduce power costs. So far they have not gotten a permit for inspection 2 week after installing wiring. Called county and they laughed when I was told that a permit was not even applied for! I feel I was taken advantage of, and wonder if the panels even work. I had to get my own contractor for the backup generator so it would be usable( not hooked up to solar system). I will not be encouraging anyone to go solar.....ever! Worst waste of money I ever considered. Do not get panels through this company!

Our solar panels are not producing power no where near as stated in the sales. We have been trying to get some one from service to work on the panels but showed up once without letting us know and we were not home. The panels are facing what appears to be in the wrong location because they are in the shade a large portion of the day. Service department is terrible about returning calls or scheduling appointments.

I initially contacted Solar Sales for a quote. I should have discontinued the conversation as soon as the salesperson asked if my husband would be at the meeting, assuming (1) I am hetero, (2) I am married and (3) I require a spouse's permission to initiate a project. I stupidly agreed to the meeting and the technician was a no show. A week later their office called me to find out how the meeting went. If they have such poor communication within their company, I cannot imagine how bad it would in an installation. Fast forward a month, I came to this website and filled out the sales request form. I received a call from none other than Solar Sales. I started to politely ask them to remove my number since I'd already spoken with them and before I could get out a sentence, they'd hung up on me. Just stay away from this company!

Overall we feel we got the best products we could get for the price we wanted to pay. I spoke to couple referrals and they said any time they had a question or service issue they responded fast.

Installer was great and the salesman was very well mannered

Solar panels barely produce a fraction of a percent of my energy don't waste time and money they are a scam and extremely expensive $45 thousand for barely nothing thank you solar choice but you can have them back and zero customer service

I recently moved to Chattanooga, TN and wanted to go solar. Their process was simple, the installation was fast and looks very sharp. They took care of all paperwork needed for the electric company. They warranty have a 25 year warranty on their installation. Every other company I spoke with had no more than a 5 year warranty on installation. Definitely recommend this company!

The crew did a very good job and got the job done very quickly considering its scope. They were friendly and cleaned up nicely after themselves.

Solar USA did a great job on our solar project. It was a big one, at least to us. They were very professional and cleaned up the site well. I had a 1000 questions but Josh Barnes was patient answering each one. It was a 20kw project and it only took 4 days. The worst part was dealing with our county to get our permits. They have a lot of regulations but Solar USA had all the paperwork and licenses to get the job done. Great Job!

Josh and his team did a great job installing our solar panels. We have a solar tracker for 3 years and it works great. He's the best electrician I know and we've called him for other work.

The system has been installed for 4 years. If we call with a question or have a problem they answer the phone and come right out.

I talked to Josh for about a year. I had a lot of questions, but Josh was patient with me. The Tennessee Valley Authority had a lot of hoops to jump through but Josh helped to navigate through them all. I was pleasantly surprised when Josh actually showed up to supervise the installation. They took their time and did it right. We are very happy with the excellent product, and the excellent service. I could not recommend Josh and solar sale more highly.

Installation was done in about 3 days after all the permits were obtained. It has operated without a problem, Payment is approximately half what I paid before.

Purchasing solar was pretty simple. The reps at were very knowledgeable , friendly, and they always answered our questions. They handled all the paperwork. The power company took a long time turn our system on but we are happy now that its been working for a couple months.

We had Solar Sale USA install our solar panel system. It looks great and even with the hoop jumping brought on us from the local TVA office who were not sure what they were doing, we got it done and turned on. Thanks Solar Sale! Look forward to years of energy production and savings on the ever escalating costs of electricity. I will call when i am ready to expand.

Said they were going to put American panels because they didn't use anything else. Turns out they had copied someone else's sales materials and pawned them off as their own. Said they would be there for the sale, installation and the service. What a bunch of BS. They sold me a line and used subcontractors for every part of the job. Thankful I was fortunate to have a good and honest subcontractor. I would not use solar sale USA or recommend them to anyone. I would however encourage you to find the company Alternative Energy SouthEast which was founded by the subcontractor that I had on my job. Not only will he be cheaper than solar sale USA, he will be honest and he will even tell you not to get solar if the angles, roof line and solar radiance don't make sense for solar on your roof. The owner Montana Busch truly believes in what he is doing whereas Solar Sale USA just wanted to make the sale and make as much money as they could without regard for the outcome for the customer. Great team! They worked very hard to to hook everything up and answered all my questions along the way. We are in a little over a full month since full install ( minus solar attic fan which will be installed in a month or so)and system has been working great so far. Even with mostly cloudy days we were able to see a great reduction in our power bill.

Finally got our first power bill after having the panels installed except it wasn't a bill at all! It was $-18.46. Thanks Solar Sale USA! Everyone at the company is awesome! Everyone should get solar panels!

Josh Barnes and his team of engineers were great. We had 3 companies come out. Our job wasn't easy. We had just enough roof space to get 12kw of panels on. They did all the engineering and provided pictures and calculations up front. When it came time to install there were some initial delays but once we got started they showed up on time and cleaned up the entire property. Most importantly the price never changed from the day we got our initial quote. Solar USA is a good company and we would use them again.

We are extremely happy with the work and the system. This is a great company to work with. Roger Spice was honest, upfront and very sincere in explaining what we did and did not need.

It was worth it just to see our meter spin backwards for the first time ever in my life. Project took a bit more work and longer than we expected. There was a bit of communication issue at first but ended up with a good deal after comparing to other companies.
